About Me

What in blue blazes is this thing? I have no idea where I am right now, knew I should've taken a left at Albuquerque. Guess I'ma be here awhile. My name is Lenin, and I'm an alcoholic. No, wait, a pothead. [bleep], that's not it either. Failed comedian, then. That works. But I am a Stalinist, Communist if you insist upon the term. My interests include long walks on the beach, flower arrangements, and salt water taffy, as well as-dammit, no, that stuff sucks. Except the taffy. Mmm, taffy. Really, though, I enjoy history, and consider myself somewhat of an intellectual- well into math/science things, physics is just about the best thing since flammable cologne (that is to say, all cologne. Especially the city) and Calculus ain't so bad itself, either. She's a very curvy lady *wink*. I also play the bass. It suits me.

Just realized this almost sounds like a dating site profile. Crap. Hmm, well, I could change that with a little lesson on whales. Y'see, I love the whale, all species from the graceful Humpback to the mammoth Leviathan that is the Sperm Whale (My ringtone is actually a humpback whale song. I [cabbage] you not), and everything in between from the bowhead (or Greenland whale) to the grey, even some of the beaked whales, though mostly just baleen and toothed. Whales actually comprise the largest animals to have ever existed, the largest of course being the colossal Blue Whale (though the bowhead boasts the largest mouth in the animal kingdom. Seriously, look it up. It's awesome). Here's a link to a lifesized blue whale on your monitor: http://www.wdcs.co.uk/media/flash/whalebanner/content_pub_en.html Damn straight that thing's huge. Seriously, they're massive; up to 39.2 meters (108 feet) and weighing 190 tons. The sperm whale comes in second (a fairly distant second, mind you) at about 16 meters (52 feet). The sperm whale is also the largest of the toothed whales, as well as having two scientific names; Physeter Macrocephalus and Physeter Catodon. It's actually the only seabeast in the Physeter genus. This aquatic juggernaut is named for the waxy substance (called spermaceti) found in its head, which made it greatly prized in the whaling industry way back when. They used spermaceti for a lot of stuff. They put that [cabbage] on everything. The whale uses it for bouyancy to help the beast dive to the greatest depths of any whale, and is also thought to somehow aid echolocation. I could go on and on about this stuff.

Well, I hope you all learned something today. I, for one, learned that I can do stream of conciousness. Yay for that, I suppose.
