  1. Jagex just fails

Also, 'displayfps' shows a low (around 15) fps for me in non-crowded areas used to show 30 fps, I notice no actual difference.

What I have found to help: Change graphics to OpenGL, turn as many things off as you're willing to turn off (for me, that's basically everything) = runs much, much, much more smoothly than any other setting (especially "Safe Mode" which actually runs the slowest for me).

  2. This link in the new design is under INFO > Skill & Data Tables > XP Table. I found it strange how deep you have to go to find the link, the experience table is something that I consider important.

Oh, ok. I guess it isn't terrible, I guess the organization makes more sense than putting it in with calculator tools (although a link on the calculator tools would be handy, I often need the XP Table to know the XP for the level I'm working towards).

  3. On the old design there's a link to the XP Table under TOOLS (on the left-side menu).

I noticed that this link is missing on the new design

Also, I can't seem to find any link to the page at all (I thought maybe it was moved to one of the skill calculator pages, but it appears not?) so there isn't any way to get to it unless you happen to know that the URL is http://open.tip.it/pages/view/xp_table.htm

(also it would be cool if the list was expanded to include the XP up to level 126, haha)

  4. I never understood what the big deal is with lvl 3 skillers. A 99 or 200m is an achievment no matter what, however I don't see how no combat makes 200m cooking or woodcutting or firemaking etc any more difficult. It may look cool but thats about it. I understand some may simply not enjoy combat, but I am under the impression that a good portion of lvl 3 skillers don't choose that path for that reason.

99/120/200m dg could be a little more impressive assuming the lvl 3 is not leeching.

Before I get flamed, understand I am not intentionally downplaying anyones achievemtns or stats. A 99 or 200m is still impressive either way.

For me, it was definitely the "challenge," but also the community. As a skiller you're part of a select group of players which gives you a strong sense of identity, you have your own hiscores (maintained by members of the skilling community), overall it's pretty tight-knit and competitive. On the challenge aspect, I've always viewed skilling (or any form of a pure) just like bodybuilding, you're constantly trying to craft your character's stats to look better and better - think of Arnold Schwarzenegger, he was constantly improving the sculpting of his body to appear better for competitions, skilling is just like that. It's just very unlike playing as a "normal" player, I really liked it for the many years I participated.

For every update that occurs the skilling community is talking amongst each other, or trying to be secretive, trying to find out how to best exploit the update to their advantage. You're constantly paranoid about everything, you need to know about everything and everyone or you get left behind. Every week you get to read about the skiller that messed up, accidentally got combat, was caught botting, or just decided being a skiller wasn't for them anymore; it's like reading celebrity magazines. The player base is constantly changing, but there's always those same players present that you can count on to be there day to day, so you take comfort in that; that is, depending on your ranking - as you get higher and higher, no matter your relationship to those above you, you eventually feel the sting of envy and want for them to mess up, too.

And, even though skilling has been around for a long time, there's still so many unexplored areas. Very few have actually maxed, none have yet maxed in F2P, you can choose to focus on certain skills or get get in certain minigames, or just become rich and constantly have people speculating about you. It's addicting, it's a lifestyle, and it's definitely not for everyone.

College dorm. This is the speed I want at home, more than this would be impractical for my needs (currently I have 160Kb/s at home, which is fine if you're the only one using it but gets annoying if you're sharing the bandwidth). I don't exactly need that high of upload speeds though.

Anyone know a good internet provider for around 8Mb/s download and 4 to 8Mb/s upload in the US (e.g. cheapest)?

  6. Grattis to A13D on 200M hunt. Also grattis to Jjussi on being the second ever maxed (1721) level 3! All combat levels 1 (except of course hp, which is 10). Magnus, the other 1721 level 3, is woodcutting and is about 71M xp away from 1B! Amazing what a level 3 can do.

Redtunnel maxed as a combat 3 a few days ago, not 120 dung though. :P He has 200m WC and his current goal is probably 200m cook to keep up with the studies and then 120 dg and 200m RC with nature and law tiaras. I think he has 800k-1m GOP tokens already.

Yeah, he won't be doing 200m Rc with tiara's by the way. :P At the moment there are 3 maxed level 3 skillers include 120 Dg/99 Slayer (Magnus (aka Pure Kq Pax), A Log Burner and Jjussi). Jjussi will be Cooking/Firemaking/Woodcutting the next time. Redtunnel is maxed except 120 Dungeoneering (102), and Beta Sun is maxed except Slayer (83).

If someone wants the level 3 skillerlist: Level 3 highscore. Change 'Display' to 'overall'. They're last updated like 1 week ago or something. :)

Elishot is repeated on that list a lot, haha.

  7. Has it been determined if clicking the red button when the highlighter is over certain areas actually impacts the outcome of where the highlighter ends? In my own few days of spinning the wheel it seems to be relatively random even when I start the highlighter thing at the same spot every time.

EDIT: Wikia says this "The time at which a player presses the button does not determine the loot gained. As soon as the button is pressed, the item will be chosen randomly and the glow stops on that item." I guess the graphic doesn't actually mean anything, it's similar to the predetermined results of slot machines in real life.

  8. Haha, manually updating my stat signature is how I always did it, I liked the personal touch (even the font was handmade). I went through several iterations over the years and finished with this before I went P2P:

  9. I've had the Pit event 3 times. All I wanted was the Gorilla Mask. The first time I had browser issues, had to refresh the tab, and it didn't keep me in the event. The second time I had the falling rocks thing, I failed at clicking on the last fall. The third time I had the put the thing in the other thing event and failed at clicking/didn't realize the time was already going down at the beginning while looking for where to place the things, I needed like 3 more seconds and I would have had it. I quit.

  10. also noticed banking and emptying pouches at the zmi with autohotkeys (which is legal to use) isnt working as well as it was yesterday, must be to do with this cooking update. raged for a while

Only the pre installed ease of access version of mousekeys is legal to use RS wise id reccomend you stop using auto hotkeys as ive just reported your listed rsn as well Jagex will catch on soon even if I reported the wrong name, as Foot can attest to, they notice the smallest differences between regular mousekeys and the other

Using the remap feature of AutoHotKey would be 1:1.
