  1. I don't have the energy to make an official quote. But xzombifiedx recently posted that RuneScape players (he did not say all of them) are cocky and lazy middle school students. That isn't true. Some of them are, but others are way above the average maturity level for their age. It's hard to judge a group of people that aren't all on the same level of maturity.
  2. I'm afraid Jagex is turning RuneScape into a game for younger kids. They're just adding too many things that benefit younger players, and make the game easier for people who've already worked hard to be where they are today. Where was the Lumbridge bank when I started playing? Where was the Lumbridge teleport back when I couldn't find my way home? Jagex has a very awesome game, but honestly, they're ruining it. I think they were fine with Tutorial Island, I know I was. I've never been scammed, never been banned, I've never even had a black mark. Why? Because I was informed. The problem with the new players is that they're not informed and there's one way to stop that. Verification by credit/debit card. I think there has to be some kind of parental consent via credit/debit/bank account, that has proof that this kid has parents and that they're verifying that they're over 13. Will parents still let younger kids play? Sure. But it would lessen the number of young kids playing by a large number. There's also something much more drastic... make RuneScape members-only. What!? How could you say that!? I know some people are going to disagree with me, because there are good F2Pers out there, and I'm sorry to suggest this, but RuneScape would be better off P2P only. Maybe Jagex could have a demo of the game available for people to play for a little whilte, then decide whether they want to upgrade to members? Sorry, it's late here and I've been sitting for 5 hours straight, my writing skills aren't the best at this hour. Oh, and sorry this post is long and contains a little suggestiong. Happy posting.
  3. Yes, I have given up on F2P woodcutting as well. Even south of Falador (2 yew trees there, good spot to cut) has a few autoers. :( So I've gone an powermined in Al Kharid and all is well. :P But seriously, Jagex is trying their best to deal with autoers, and we can only hope that something will be done about them.
  4. Cool idea! I'm going to go try it right now. I mean, I'm a F2Per anyway and I have nothing better to do. :( :P Anyway, I think you guys should at least try it before jumping to conclusions...
  5. A noob is a person who is just generally lacking common sense or is being annoying or immature. A newb is a new person. You don't see this used almost anywhere anymore, and even then it's more appropriate to call them "new players" or something to that effect. Calling someone a noob is just annoying. :wall: If I ever made a game if you called someone a noob or even said the word noob you would be muted for 48 hours. Why? It's just one of those words that doesn't need to be said at all. I was once playing (just yesterday, I believe) as a current F2Per when I saw some level 7 saying, "B sale no noobs!!111." I think to myself, how many "noobs" could trade with him? He's only level 7! The word noob isn't just annoying, it's hypocritical, as in the level 7's case. I got called a noob (I'm combat level 62, haven't trained that in years, I'm more of a skiller.) by a level 35 guy once, in a members world of all places! He then logged, of course. I wasn't going to say anything, but how typical. So to sum everything up, the word "noob" could be used sparingly, but not as an insult. How would it not be an insult? People would find some way, I'm sure. And it's not a big problem, it's just one of those annoying things that doesn't need to be said by anyone over the age of 12, really.
  6. I'm not going to really repeat what others have said, that would be redundant. :) But I will say, if you want more money, some mining experience, and have a few days with nothing to do on your hands, than mine the coal and iron. You'll make a lot more money, but it may take a while to mine and smith. But if you need XP, go for it. If you want to do it quickly, then buy it. Whatever you do, good luck.
