  1. I don't think rares will ever die, simply because they will always be rare. As long as there is a very small amount of something that isn't produced anymore, they will be worth a lot of money. The only way rares will ever die is if they are all completely destroyed (either through drops or banned accounts).
  2. The prices of items are really changing now because of the updates. But what about alchemy? It's probably the only source of money in the game that hasn't changed yet. You alch a yew longbow? You still get 768 coins every time. But what about the prices of fletching materials? What happens if the total price to make a yew longbow goes up and people stop buying the materials to make yew longbows? With less money coming into the game, what'll that do to the economy? I know questions go in the other forum, but this one doesn't really have an answer, more like speculation. So what I'm trying to say is, since the value of money you get from alching never changes, shouldn't the prices of fletching materials and stuff like that be changing based on the alchemy price? I'd like to know your thoughts.
  3. Well, Jagex get's paid by the ad companies to display their ads on RuneScape's site and client. Jagex doesn't have control over what ads come up, the ad company decides that. So it's probably not on Jagex's end, but either way, just stick to the internet version. That's why I like RuneScape, it's run from your browser and it absolutely CANNOT give you a virus of any kind. (Java applets aren't permitted to. :P)
  4. Yes, exactly. (I was trying to point that out on another thread but couldn't find the right words for it, probably because you already did. :P) Anyway, it seems the only reason prices change is because of rumors. It's kind of ironic that the people who don't want the prices to change like that are the ones who are causing the problem. :-k This seems to be happening right now with the rares market and the Duel Arena. People don't want the rares to go down in price anymore, (well, the sellers anyway) and yet they're the ones who keep selling for less and less just because someone said all the rares are dropping like lead balloons.
  5. Wow, I never realized all of the updates that point to the removal of direct trading. It's kind of a scary thought, but the pieces do seem to fall into place. LootShare, the Grand Exchange, the Assist system, destroying items... it all adds up.
  6. I don't get it, how come rares are doing anything at all? RuneScape is a free market economy, players can buy and sell things at whatever price they want. So does that mean that the only thing that's keeping Player1 from selling his rare for 50 million coins more than what he was going to sell it for is a little speculation and impatience? Are the rares dropping merely because people think they're going to drop?
  7. The website says the software's open source, so Jagex can change the filter so it doesn't block the normal RuneScape shorthand. (such as 2h and scimmy) It doesn't block things like "lol," just excessive use. I recommend checking out the website, it's very interesting.
  8. I've been fishing in a P2P world for a while now, and you should hear all of the immature people. Most of them are just quiet fishers, but there are two or three people who are just being downright annoying. :wall:
  9. I just went into world 43 for kicks, and I found this. Player 1: Your a frekin noob. Player 2: Takes 1 2 know 1. The last time I heard "takes one to know one" was in third grade. :XD: I just thought I'd share that with you guys. :)
  10. Are you agreeing with me? Because the very first time I tried to post my opinion I got yelled at... :wall: About being immature, it's not like you'd go up and scam someone, and then say, "0mgzorz ur such a nuub!!!!11 i g0tz ur munniez now, i gotz 5K im so ricccchhhh!!111" THAT would be immature. You know, the REAL question shouldn't be, "IS F2P going downhill?" The REAL question should be, "How can we as players help make F2P better?"
  11. Definitely 100% true. It's hard to tell anymore whether Jagex is aiming the game at teenagers and adults, or at young children.
  12. Yes, it's kind of sad what's happening to F2P RuneScape, and even some places in P2P RuneScape, although it's not nearly as extreme as in a F2P world.
  13. Yes, most of them have been updated it seems. I've tried this and it never works. If they don't get flax for a minute, they automatically switch back to picking regular flax.
