  1. Well, I guess it's good that Jagex are at least listening a little bit, i.e. reducing the cost of shards. What else do they need to do - a lot! However, I think the fact that you need to get charms from monsters and that they are untradeable is good. It means it's impossible to buy your way to 99. Obviously being rich will help a lot, but money alone won't get you there. However, as they made it this way, why is it necessary to have shards cost much at all? They should reduce the cost by a tenth, not just a half. Secondly, as has been previously said, you should get xp for summoning. In fact you should get some for every minute you have a summoned creature. That would make it worth doing. Next, the fighting creatures should fight everywhere, not just in multi-combat, should fight automatically, and should GIVE YOU COMBAT XP! Otherwise, what on earth is the point? At the moment they've just made another incredibly boring skill. i.e., go to canifis and buy 1,000 raw chickens. Tele to your house in taverly, run to the the obelisk, change 22 chickens to pouches, duelling ring to castle wars, pick up 22 more chickens, tele back to taverly etc.,etc. YAWN! Oh and I forgot spending a fortune on shards. Haven't we got enough skills like this?? I don't mind runecrafting because at least it makes you money, but this? PS If anyone knows a quicker way than the above, please post!
  2. I thought the article was great. I do find it amusing the attitudes some people have. Put very simply, the only two things you need to be good at Runescape are lots of time and a high boredom threshold. Given those two things, anyone can become a level 126. Naturally then, as time goes on, there will be more high level characters. That would be a fact of life even if there were no changes. What clearly annoys some of the older players is that Jagex has made it easier to level up. As in 'these newer players have it too easy'. But quite frankly, levelling up at high levels can get excrutiatingly boring. I think anything Jagex does to make it easier is good. How many people do you know who got to a certain level then quit because it got boring? If I see updates like 'smith all' then I'm really happy, both for me and for the lower lvls who won't have to go through the tedium that I experienced. My other point is when you are a newbie you don't notice other people being noobish, because you don't know any better. Naturally as you get more experienced their behaviour becomes more noticeable. Myself, I always try to help lower level players if they ask nicely. I can remember how I felt at lvl 20 when a high level guy gave me a mithril axe for free. I thought he was so generous. Now I just leave mith axe drops lying on the ground so I can afford to be that guy. Isn't it nicer to spread happiness rather than being miserable all the time?
  3. Hmmm. Jagex seems to have changed the vine bit because the third time I killed the vine I had to pay Horacio 10 wildbloods again for him to look after it. either that, or when you pay him wildbloods it lasts for 3 lots of planting and killing the vine and then you have to pay him again. btw has anyone worked out exactly how long it takes for (a) the vine to grow and (B) for it to get so you can fight it? I did the whole thing in a day yesterday so maybe 12 hours? I'm not sure.
  4. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is there any way on Runescape to find out when you created your account? I really have no clue lol.
  5. I just joined! Partly because of the poll, and partly because of the Back to your Roots quest. Another reason is that this site seems to have improved signifcantly in the last few months. I'm now using this one a lot more than the 'other' site (not sure if I'm allowed to mention it!). Anyway ppl here seem to be doing a great job - keep it up!
  6. hi everyone - my first real post :D I got 2.5k xp for killing the vine. Was well chuffed when I didn't have to pay horacio another 10 wildbloods. Do ppl reckon this is a bug that Jagex will fix? Someone mentioned letting your vine grow more to get the 3k slayer xp. How long does this take - anyone know?
