Ghosts ahoy is pretty easy, and the ectophial is useful. Hand in the sand isn't that hard either, and gives 84 sand per day.

Sorry about not having any pictures, this is just a quick tip, and it would also be hard to find a place to put some in.
With the new update of the grand exchange, it is very, very easy to make money and exp through a quick bit of skilling. This could always be done before, but the Grand Exchange cuts the buying and selling part down to a short time.
Step one is to buy a decent amount of refinable material, like flax, or iron ore. One thousand is a good amount to start with.
Step two is to change it to another item, like bow strings, iron bars, or iron knives.
Step three is to sell your items for a profit. Hopefully you looked beforehand to see the prices of the raw materials, and the finished goods.
From my previous examples, flax is around 90 each while bow strings are around 170 each. That's 80k profit + 15k crafting experience for every 1k flax you spin. Iron ore are around 100 each, while iron bars are over 200 each. (You need eight rings of forgings for this method. You can either make them yourself, or buy for about 3k each from GE). You can also make them into iron knives for quite a bit more exp, although profits will be lower than staying with bars. Iron knives sell for about 36 each. Making bars gives over 100k profit and 12.5k smithing exp, while making knives gives about 80k profit and 37.5k crafing exp. I would recommend knives here, 20k less for an extra 25k exp is a great deal!
This method can be used for many other items too. Be sure to research the prices of the items before buying anything though, because the finishd product might be less.
Since the GE just came out today, prices for the items may be off some. I accept no responsabililty for lost money due to mispricings in the GE. At this point it would probably be safer to wait for prices to even out before using this method. Nonetheless, it is a great way to make money and get some quick experience.
EDIT: THis may belong in help and advice instead, if so please move it.

Finally updated again.

When the quest "A Fairy Tale Part One" was released, the magic secatuers had a massive strength bonus, causing people to either one hit a monster/player or to hit a zero if they "missed".
-
Likely pure essence, because of the life rune shown in the development diary.
-
So basically, your saying that the inflation of rares will stop if they add this?
No. What gave you that idea :??
-
If they have less defence, then they have attack/strength so why does it matter if they are a little harder to hit? How are they a noob for training their stats equally like they're supposed to? If it was a bad thing to get why would it exist?
It's mainly used by 10 year old pures who are unhappy when you don't just give them your items in the wilderness. As a demonstration of that, I've been called a "defence noob" on a one defence pure, when I had no armor on, at all. Just a bow and some arrows.
-
Since a few people have talked about hiring staff to watch the prices, I would like to remind you that it woudl be a big waste of money to do that, that the only way ot do it for all items like they say would be an automated system, and they specifically said it would from the grand exchange.
-
I honestly don't see what the big deal about the 3k limit is. They can just do a two man tournament. It's a little harder, but it's not like you can't do big stakes anymore.
-
Actually to avoid abuse of "outlying prices" I expect the Player Value code to be based on completed transactions as opposed to asking price. That way people can't dump their items onto the exchange at vastly inflated prices to manipulate the Player Value. Proper statistical analysis can weed out the extreme cases.
Good idea, I'll put that in. They could still use another account to buy it though. Maybe they would use your idea and still remove the ones that are far away.

As some of the more observant of you have probably noticed, Jagex revealed in their description of the new duel arena that the value of items staked will be determined by the "player value".
The gp value of any item wagered in a staked duel is defined by the 'player value'. This 'player value' of an item will change according to any market fluctuations once the Grand Exchange has been introduced.This is going to be a very big, and probably interesting change! For example, if (and this is a big if) they decide to make it so you keep items upon death placed on the player value, items like whips will protect over items with a higher shop value, but a lower player value, like dragon battle axes. This will help prevent scams, and help out no matter where you die. I remember one time I died and kept my rune full helm over an amulet of glory, back when they were around 95k.
This has a lot of potential use, and unfortunately, potential abuse. Someone could put up multiple listings for ashes in the grade exchange at millions of gp each, and use it to enter one of the one million gp duels. Hopefully Jagex will put in something to prevent this.
Daigotsu had a good idea to help prevent this.

That way people can't dump their items onto the exchange at vastly inflated prices to manipulate the Player Value. Proper statistical analysis can weed out the extreme cases.They could still buy it on another account, but they could probably remove the outliers with his idea too.
There might also be some sort of price check system, which will show the average price of an item, the range, or hopefully the range with obvious outliers removed.
So, I was wondering what all of your thoughts on this new update are.
-
I would like to point out that one of your assumptions is incorrect.
will house a huge new addition to the game: the ability to offer items to buy and sell across ALL servers and to ALL players!So, if Jagex makes this as they say they would, it should include a selling feature, which means that there probably won't be the mass inflation you described.
-
On the farming skills page, it says that avantoes will make supercompost. They actually make regular compost.
-
Nice guide :D. Maybe you should add something about making up statistics and pretending like you did some sort of study to prove the information is right.
And Golden Sun is definitely the best game ever.
-
This is pretty useful, I like it. The only problem is that you have six shades of pretty similar colors, and that could cause some confusion. It would help if you changed the colors, or put the numbers in the circles on the map.

43% of parents don't play games with their children? I find that statistic very unlikely :^o. I rarely find someone who plays games with their parents, let alone most of them! And seriously, 12 hours a week isn't that bad. I bet most people watch TV longer than that. The people who play computer games instead are actually getting an interactive experience instead of just watching something (although doing both things for that long would definetly be bad). Why don't you ever see articles about how people spend 8 hours a day watching TV, but there are tons of them about people who play video games that long? Because everyone seems to think video games are horrible.
-
A large task, but if you work hard you can do it :D.
-
Good luck with your goals :thumbsup:. Nice items and stats too :thumbsup:.

One time I had aranged to trade with someone, and when he was walking up to trade with me he got teled away by a random.
-
I think it will make merchanting harder. A lot of what merchanting is right now is buying in lower amounts for low prices, then selling to people who want it in bulk for higher. Basically the merchants search for it then sell it to the people who don't feel like searching. With the update, they will be able to find items for the cheaper prices just as easily as more expensive prices.

I did some farming, mainly checking health of willows from yesterday. I got 30-34 farming and 1200 total from that =D. I mined a few hundred coal, and then got to work on making cannon balls. I got 52 smithing, and after making over 1000 cannon balls, started working on cutting 400 logs for 30 construction. Finished cutting the logs, sold the cannon balls, and starting turning the logs to planks. Finished the logs and started on construction. I bought bronze nails, thinking it would be better to use because they were so much cheaper than others. They're probably cheaper, but I bought nowhere near the amount I need... Leveled construction from 11 to 21, then took a break. I started to organize my horribly messy bank. I ended the day by finishing off 55 defence on al-kharid warriors.
I also got 2 genies :D , a mime, and a frog today.

[hide=November 2, 2007]
I got back to construction, on my way to 30 I got yet another frog. I get those stupid things so much. I got 30 constuction, making all my skills 30+ and putting another on the highscorelist. Now I'm going for all skills 40+. I killed some ogres and buried the big bones to get 47 prayer. I also got a genie while there. I then ecto'ed dragon bones for 48 prayer. I then abyss crafted some nature runes, and got 51 runecrafting. I killed some green dragons, then ecto'ed ddragon bones again for 49 prayer. I then worked on thieving, and got 45 thieving.

Today, I thieved master farmers to 46 thieving, then mined gold, silver, and mith, and got 57 mining. Did some random combat, and got 40 herblore from the herbs. I killed desert bandits for awhile and got 2 defence levels for 58 defence, and 81 combat. Now mining is my only unranked skill =D. I went to mine some coal after
that. I got a genie, and of course, another frog!
[/hide]
[hide=November 5, 2007]
I killed desert bandits, and got 68 hp, 60 defence, and 82 combat. I also got a genie. I then did some abyss crafting.
[/hide]
[hide=November 6, 2007]
I abyss crafted some, and got 52 rc. I got crafting assistance, made my blue d hides into blue d hide bodies, then alched them for some money. I did some smithing, and got 53 smithing. I did some more abyss crafting, then bought a cannon and worked on killing dagganoths for slayer. While there I got 50 slayer and 61 defence. After that, I worked on firemaking and got 50 firemaking. I trained crafting some, almost to level 51. I did hand in the sand, and the reward got me 51 crafting. I made unpowered orbs and got to 52 crafting. I abyss crafted even more natures, and got 53 runecrafting.

[hide=November 7, 2007]
Not a lot of variety today, I changed my kingdom to gather flax and maples so I can get some fletching exp, and crafted some natures.
[/hide]
[hide=November 8, 2007]
I crafted some natures, and got 54 runecrafting! I can make laws now :D. While there, I saw one of the saddest pking attempts I've ever seen. It was someone one-iteming with a dds. He didn't even bind me. Seeing him in action I doubt he even had any food. I ran into the wild, and he chased after me all the way up to the Zamorak Mage. It was pretty funny though :D. I was going to pk him, but he was gone when I got back. After that I bought some blood runes and finished doing the mage arena with my Zamorak staff, so I can use it outside of the wilderness now. I gathered the resources from my kingdom, did some fletching, and got 59 fletching. Now I can make make mithril grapples =D. While making flax into bowstrings for the bows I just made, I got a mime. I got the mime mask, so I have full mime now :D . I just need the emotes. I also saw two other people at the mime stage. One had just made a pk, and there was full rune, and maybe some other stuff on the ground. The other guy was 150 alchs away from 99 mage. I strung the bows, and as I started to alch them I got the evil bob island event for the first time. I did some random range training later. Chinchompas are _fun_. Not only do they explode and hit multiple things, but you're throwing a beaver! An exploding beaver at that. That's all for today.

Will rune prices fall due to update?
in General Discussion
Posted
Yes. With no pkers or stakers, many runes will be used less, especially higher level runes. Who wil use god spells or ancients on npcs, wasting thousands of gp per cast?
