  1. I know why he went. That's why he got picked for nationals over the Junior who had a better track record than he did. But that doesn't make me happy about it. And that doesn't excuse the judges at the tournaments, who don't know how old we are and thus can't judge based on that. @Halo: People who do that annoy me so much.
  2. Do you guys also always wear sweatshirts?
  3. I wear pants until the very end of the school year, then I switch to shorts.
  4. It's not my school. It's chosen at a national level based on how you do at the various tournaments you go to throughout the year. You're nominated based on how you do at the state tournament, and you get into the state tournament with districts. Basically, at all the tournaments throughout the year, he had more 1's and 2's than I had, so he went to finals more often.
  5. His is about victorian houses. Mine's about immortality. Mine's just ever so slightly more relevant on a person by person basis.
  6. I can't rant about this anywhere else, so I'm going to do here. So I'm in speech and I do info. This is my third year in the activity. Today I found out that a freshman is going to nationals in info. Now, I don't have a problem with this. He wasn't super ultra amazing this year, but I definitely think he would have gone to nationals at some point in his career, even if he hadn't gone this year. No, what pisses me off is that I'm better than him. Not being elitist here or anything. He was just less experienced when he wrote his speech, so it sounds very freshman-y. It's nothing more than I expected, since he is a freshman after all. Not only am I not going to Nationals, I wasn't nominated. Not only wasn't I nominated, I didn't go to state. Or districts. OR EVEN [bleep]ING FINAL AT A TOURNAMENT! I'm comparing us, and I can't see a single god damn thing he does right that I do wrong. He has every [bleep]ing problem I have plus a couple more. I know exactly what to correct for him when he gives his speech to me, because it's the same thing I have to correct for myself. But no, he gets to go to Washington [bleep]ing D.C., while I get to sit in Nebraska without even a summer speech camp to help me out. [bleep]ing judges are [developmentally delayed]ed, I swear to god.
