You should have recognized that the flop can hit straights, and bet in a way that only an opponent with a straight would call, in which case you would fold your trip 10s. You have to realise that folding great hands is a part of the game, theres nothing making you commit to going all in with those types of hands, He didn't raise once. Just called the entire time.

It's a bit of both really though. A good player can bluff a shit hand, but you can also have a great hand and still lose because the cards didn't play out in your favor. I lost with trip 10s to a straight on the flop.
