  1. if you draw a line between Ancient Cavern and Castle Drakan in the middle is Asgarnia and in Reldo's book about the first age it said "Not much is known about the hero called by the people of Asgarnia: Robert the Strong." so maby something around falador or barbarian village like the place were they will hise. How about that strange place with the stones with the weird symbols on it which is south of the dwarven mines, north of falador and west of barbarian village? You also need to dig there for some clue scrolls.
  2. Nope, the centre is the little stove in the southernmost part of Falador castle.
  3. Aha! The dragonkin's mastery of wyrms! With all the similarities between the dragonkin and mahjarat... Freneskrae, same love of bloodshed, mahjarat being shapeshifters, etc etc, surely there must be some connection? I mentioned this a while back but it didn't seem to get any serious consideration ( :( ) but more people seem to be taking interest now ( \ ) I suggested earlier that perhaps the mahjarat are some kind of dragonkin nobility or elite? Or the other way round? It seems a bit strange that the dragonkin, being apparently so similar, are different shapes of the mahjarat? Why would the mahjarat suddenly make themselves all look identical? Also, there are only a few mahjarat but judging by the number of dragon anvils, it looks like there were a lot of dragonkin, so where have these extras come from? I reckon that the mahjarat may have been dragonkin nobility, like dragonkin but with more power and command over the other dragonkin. "The dragonkin's mastery of wyrms" (sorry, forgot the quote). The dragonriders, who rode wyrms, were revered as Zaros and Zamorak's personal body guards. Considering that the dragonkin may very well have been dragonriders and that the mahjarat follow only zaros and zamorak, it suggests that the mahjarat may have used the dragonkin to help their masters. I think it's time to take a serious look at this suggestion and the links between the mahjarat and dragonkin and any similarities between them. After all, is the picture from tail of two cats the only image we have of the dragonkin?
  4. Just because the Oracle says that the stone belongs to Jas doesn't necessarily mean that Jas is a person. She could have meant to be metaphorical, for example we often say "the rain has stopped" or "the storm is brewing" but that doesn't mean the rain and the storm are people. Jas may be a term used to describe a concept or an idea or maybe even an inanimate object, for example roots belong to a tree. However, you are right that Jas is probably the name of a person. Let me put Jas through a translator/dictionary.... Jas is the name of a village in the Loire region in France, which is interesting because Zaros is the name of a village in Greece. Jasmonates are a group of plant hormones which regulate plant growth and development... JAS stands for loads of things like Japanese Agricultural Standards and the Jordanian Astronomical Society... There is a fight jet called the JAS 39 Gripen fighter. Jas can be short for Jason!
  5. I think the elder dragons and the dragonkin are the same thing too, but what if the elder gods and the elder dragons are the same thing? They sound similar and we believe the dragonkin once had control of the stone of jas, with the stone of jas I'm sure they'd have enough power to create the world as we know it, or at least change it so drastically that it looked like it had been recreated. But if the elder gods and the dragonkin are the same, how come Robert the Strong managed to kill one? Surely they'd have been immensely powerful? Maybe that particular one was weakened or maybe Robert the Strong was the incarnation of Zaros and that's how he got his power?
  6. Karil's crossbow is similar to a chu-ke-nu, a Chinese repeating crossbow that fires around 10 bolts in 15 seconds (but with little accuracy or range). Karil's bow fires short bursts: one rack each time. Also, Ak-Hanaru seems dressed like a Chinese. So it could be that Karil's crossbow is from the east. It's interesting you should say this, there was a thread on the runescape forums about a year ago pointing out the similarities between the old runescape sword (was then the runescape logo) and some kind of samurai blade, couple this with the fact that Japan and China have always been "Eastern" powers and the appearances and idiolect of the karil's bolt seller as well as this find about the karil's crossbow and we have a very interesting theory.
  7. I will die from laughter Just don't go there... :wall:
  8. Also zaap1, I can't view your images, it has a little red cross :-(
  9. I hate to be one of "those people," but why is it nonsense? Perhaps it's my own lack of understanding, but isn't very little known about the Eastern lands? And there have been hints to an Island related to the Majharrats, wasn't there? In that one main page banner? Or am I mistaken? :$ Well, you're right that very little is known about the Eastern Lands, but that doens't necessarily mean there's going to be a godmeeting there. And the 'kudos Isle' is located due north of Morytania, but to my knowledge no clues at all exist which tell of a godmeeting anywhere... So thats why I'm saying it's nonsense. Anyway, Gods aren't even allowed to be in Gielenor or everything on the whole planet will be destroyed, so thats kind of a problem. [/hide] About the eastern lands, I remember reading in a letter to the person in phasymatys who sells the karil's bolt racks that there is a huge empire to the east where all the barrows armours came from. Perhaps this is where the icyenes come from and that is why the queen took over morytania, or perhaps this is where the dragonkin now reside? Perhaps this is why morytania stinks of dragon poo, because it has wafted over from this empire to the east? It would also tie in with the points of the compass metaphor in the KBD's letter. Also, there was the mysterious man who gave the barrows brothers their armours and who stood over them whenever they fought and is supposed to have killed them by weakening them or something, I think I remember hearing that he was Sliske, who appears to be in the sewers underneath draynor and is a mahjarat. According to my theory that the dragonkin and mahjarat are related this would prove that the dragonkin were in possession of the material which made barrows armours and that they therefore came from, or atleast resided in at one point, the empire to the east. I never found any proof that the Barrows Armour came from the East, and therefore doubt your theory. And the Icyene didn't 'took over', that sounds too hostile. I think they were given the leadership over Hallowvale, as the inscription in the Burgh de Rott pub basement says the Queen was loved by many. Furthermore, the man who gave the Barrow Brothers their armour was Sliske, a Mahjarrat, but he can't be found in Draynor Sewers. You must be thinking of Ruantan, Count Draynors former servant and a Vampyre. In one of the postbags from the hedge a letter was written to the person who supplies the karil's bolt racks and he certainly said that they come from a huge empire to the east, I'll try and find which postbag. OK, they may not have 'taken over' in a hostile way, they may have been given control but that doesn't mean they can't have been living in the east. (sorry if this sounds stupid, I have little knowledge of vampyres) but the dude under draynor sewers does hiss a lot and has yellow eyes with slitted, snake-like pupils, is that how vampyres appear? Anyway I'm only suggesting things, it isn't as if I'm claiming to know exactly what's going to happen :| It's ok , I'm not saying that you're claiming that either. I'm just pointing out the right's and wrong's in your posts, so no misunderstandings will occur, and so others can create new theories with the info you and I provided. Besides, I too believe that the Icyene came from the Eastern Lands, and I said that the dude under Draynor is a Vampyre, just not Sliske. And for Boeboeboe, maybe Vampyres only hiss when they're in their Vampyre form. Vampyres have multiple forms, one of them looks human and another is grey with horns, yellow eyes and snake-like pupils. And this is probably the Postbag you were talking about, Rehsa: Maybe you were refering to another one, but this was the only one featuring Ak-Haranu I could find. Yes, he does say the Bolt Racks come from the Eastern Lands, but that doesn't necessarily mean that all barrow Armour comes from there. Maybe someone in the West (aka here) designed the Crossbow to work with Eastern bolts... Or you're correct, but then Sliske must've had connections with the Eastern Lands, and that is a bit frightening... :? Yup that is exactly the postbag I was referring to, but I don't remember it as being so vague #-o anyway, you're right in saying that it only proves that the empire to the east have karil's bolts, but what good are bolts without a crossbow? If the empire to the east have those bolts then it's reasonable to assume that they have the karil's crossbow, or atleast something like it and it also means there's a high chance of them possessing the other barrows sets, or atleast the karil's set. I think it's unlikely that someone in the west looked at eastern bolts and designed a nearly perfect mechanism for working them, unless there were perhaps some skirmishes between the people from the east and the people from the west and the westerners managed to pick up some of the bolts, but then again if the people from the west had had a chance to go around picking up spare bolts they'd also have had a chance to go picking up some of the other armours and weapons so I doubt that's how the karil's crossbow came about. I reckon that Sliske has to have had some contact with the eastern empire and if he got his bolts and crossbows from there, why not also get all his other armours from there? And about the four points of the compass thingy, I checked and the absolute centre of Gielinor is the little range in the south of the White Knight's castle in Falador.

  12. This has probably already been mentioned, but what about the mahjarat all going north? I always presumed this was to do with the return of Zaros but what if it's actually to do with the return of the dragonkin? Or perhaps zaros will lead the dragonkin back to gielinor? Maybe he's got them on his side? This brings in all sorts of interesting stuff about who actually is a mahjarat, for example Vanakka, the Genie and the Oracle all have the same red markings on their faces as Lucien. And just an obscure theory here, maybe the reference in the KBD's letter to dragons being rivers flowing from a single mountain refers to dragons' power flowing from the stone of jas? Or perhaps it refers to some kind of life-giving water flowing through the channel shown in the picture of the dragon anvils in the ancient cavern?
  13. One in the Elf lands? This is a fascinating possibility, perhaps this is the reason why Prifnidas is closed off to us? Perhaps (this is getting a bit wild now :? ) the world gate led from freneskrae to Gielinor and the ELves and Mahjarat and Dragonkin all came from there, perhaps all being related?
  14. Potentially, could the mahjarat be the dragonkin? Possibly the mahjarat are the dragonkin's nobility? And I think I remember hearing something about Lord Drakan being a mahjarat or atleast very closely related to them, if the mahjarat really are dragonkin nobility does this mean that Lord Drakan could possibly be a dragonkin who has claimed back his castle from the Queen after she stole it? (Sorry if this sounds stupid, I'm not very up-to-date on quests) but has anyone actually ever seen Lord Drakan? Judging from the picture of the dragonkin shown they look very similar to CS Lewis's Tashlan (seen in The Last Battle, a Narnia book) who is supposed to be an evil god. The dragon anvils in the Ancient Cavern are also intriguing, what is this channel which the dragon heads roar into? Maybe it was once filled with molten ore and the dragonkin would scoop it out in bar shapes, let it cool then smith it? Perhaps it was merely filled with water to plunge the smelted weapons into after they were made? Or perhaps it was filled with something else, maybe sacred clay, maybe some other kind of magical fluid and perhaps when the dragonkin plunged weapons or unliving dragons into it it imbued them with the power of special attacks or the power of life? Either way it is very interesting.
  15. I think the only reason is that MMORPGs such as runescape appeal more to boys than girls and so there are therefore more boys than girls playing runescape, which means the prices of "male" clothing will be greater than the prices of "female" clothing.
  16. It isn't RuneScape itself that has changed, it's the transition from Low Level to High Level. In any MMORPG there are distinctly different 'tiers' of how well developed your characters are, starting at low and ending at elite. When I was a low level I used to roleplay a lot or train skills a couple of levels then do a quest, now I level a skill to 99 before I stop it. This is not because Jagex have eliminated the way I used to play RuneScape, it's because I now have a much more well-developed character and I'm entering the high level 'tier' of the game rather than the low level 'tier'. It's still possible to roleplay, you still can just hang around with friends, in fact that's what RolePlay servers are for. It's just that because your account is now more developed it the old way of playing isn't as rewarding as it once was.
  17. Yes, I think it's more likely that Jagex will introduce armours that give permanent HP boosts than armours which have +800 slash defence. If we have "ultimate" armours with +800 defence it will enable new weapons to be introduced but it will mean that godswords will be hitting into the 40s max and weapons like granite maul will end up hitting around 10 max. HP-boosting armours will not only enable new weapons to be introduced, they won't take away the "fun" of the current WMDs, Godswords will still be able to hit 70s and it'll enable new weapons to hit into the 100s.
  18. If an "ultimate" weapon was to be introduced to melee in the current circumstances, IE within the next couple of months or so, then yes it would be pretty much unbalanced. However, I remember when granite maul was released, it was the best weapon in the game and everybody wanted one because it could hit so unbelieveably high and had such a great special (20 x 2). Now, a couple of years on, granite mauls cost something stupid like 20k and are pretty much useless against decent players. This is partly because better weapons have come out, but also because many new armours have been released, increasing the amount of damage that players can take and shoving the granite maul down to the lower-level end of the game. I believe the same sort of thing will happen in the future. I doubt the hitpoints skill itself will ever be able to be trained above 99, but perhaps in the future there will be armours giving +800 slash defence or giving a visible +10 hp bonus or a +50% hp regeneration bonus. Against those sorts of armours godswords would be nearly as useless as the granite maul is against the current top-level armours. If those sorts of armours are introduced we will most certainly need new weapons and new ways to deal damage. But in the near future I think we will be seeing vast improvements to magic, range can deal extreme damage, albeit very innacurately, and melee has both the benefit of increased defence and high damage, but apart from crowd control and some miscellaneous lunar spells, mage is far less effective than it really should be. I think we will be seeing new range armours and weapons, maybe spells that require weapons, maybe some combat spells that require quests, however I doubt there will be a new spellbook since three is enough to deal with. We may even be seeing a complete re-work of magic.
  19. Also, i believe that zaros was more powerful than Armadyl and I think you should mention that at the height of his power, Zaros was more powerful than even Guthix and possibly the most powerful being ever to exist on Gielnor.
