  1. Despite being rather new on the forums, I am going to bring some of my own (rather controversial) ideas to the thread. I think that people should be able to choose whether or not they want to listen to cusses. Yes, this does mean I am asking to use a WoW suggestion, however, even WoW comes up with good ideas. If someone has a solution, is it wrong to use it? Example. "Macintosh created the mouse pointer, Windows shouldn't use it." Which is true, but yet you can't blame Windows for using it. So my basic idea is to keep the filter an option, so that overbearing parents can turn it off for their young son/daughter, or that it can be used by people who like the ability to use any words in their vocabulary. No, I'm not saying that running around screaming "HEY ******" is alright. I'm saying swears can be used to express states of high anger. It should be the player's choice to listen to what they want. Finally, one last thing I would like to point out. That words only have meaning if we let it. I'll make it really easy to understand. I run down the street yelling "CRAZ." People would think I'm a raving derelict. Then I run down the street yelling swear words. Everyone knows what I'm talking about, and they're disgusted. Now everyone knows swear words, and we don't like them. Why? Because we think they mean something nasty. Why? Because society grew that way. Why protect kids from 4 letters (We all know the 4 letters I'm talking about)? Is it going to make them wonderful people? No. Some people will always be nasty, whether or not they have 4 letters. Children use these four letters simply to get reaction or display anger. Sure, Jagex cares if I say (censored), but no one cares if I say CRAZ. Now if people started conjuring up bad meanings for CRAZ, it gets a meaning. Then Jagex comes down it like a hammer. I would then stand there, dumbfounded, about how stupid this all looks. At one point, CRAZ meant nothing, now it's a word no one should say. Nuts to the filter, words mean nothing unless we associate it with something. I could make the entire dictionary full of swear words if I tell people to use words differently, and they listen. One of society's biggest problems. Now, in closing, I'll leave you guys to find the many holes in my theory. I know from experience that many people hate different views, that think they alone know everything.
  2. Got scammed once before. A little over-enthusiasm. Began: I had fished 1000 lobsters, hooray! I went to sell them all for a pretty big collection of rune. Something happens... (This was way back before the double trade box) And poof, I lose all the lobsters and end up with zilch. Sulked for a while, then I got back, attempting to swear revenge on him in the wildy, of course, never achieving it.
  3. Lol, hey guys, I'm a bit new to the board, but I just got a pretty cool encounter. A team of 2 people, playing up the sport of "Giving away free rune." Doing that right in lumbridge castle, I follow to find out what was up. Names: Me, Scammer, Scam-Help Me: I wonder what this is about... Scammer: I'm giving away free rune, follow me. (Wait roughly 1 minute) Scam-Help: Whoo I just got free rune. Scammer: Ok go downstairs (Me + Others follow) Scammer: This is how it works, give me stuff, and I'll give it back, whoever gives the best item gets the rune. Me: Both Reported for Item Scamming Scam-Help: Oh yeah, well you are too, noob Scam-Help: I know mods lol Me: Right... This continues as they hop worlds and scam people. I follow them out of sheer amusement and try to stop people from getting scammed. I wonder if I should hyper-cam it...
