  1. Just remember the proverb "Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me".

Banning "noob" is pointless these immature people will only come up with some ither word to insult you with.

    Just ignore them :wall:

  2.

reindeer came 2nd because they think reindeer will be f2p if it was voted for, when f2p will never get pets.

Why should't F2P get a reindeer? If that is what is voted in EVERYONE should get it.

Also, where is it written that f2p will never have pets? Surely if Jagex put the choice in then obviously there is nothing preventing them from making it F2P, else why put it in?

  3. noob :wall:

Hmmmm it seems you don't know the explanation of the word noob.

Noob = some one who's new to the game - doesn't know any thing yet

I'm definitely not new to the game and i know the most so you are wrong mister

Actually its you that doesn't know the meaning of the word noob.

Noob is an insult and rought translated means stupid/idiot/annoying etc. etc.

Someone who is new to RS is a NEWB

  4. When the skill was introduced the majoritory of people training it were rushing to be the first to 99, or at least to a very high level. Thus they never really took the time to find out what the familiars could used be.

What you are seeing now are those people raising summoning and taking their time exploring the skill. These people are finding good uses for the various familiars and are then passing on the benefits to those people who "speed" skilled. This means that more and more people are actually using their familiars.

I did not start training summoning until a month after it was released (now level 56) and I took my time finding out what each familiar was capable of (and having conversations with them - some of these conversations are quite hilarious  ). Most, I found, were of no use to me, being 119 combat and at least 70 in all the other skills, but I still experimented and have found some useful ways in which I can use (and profit from) some of them. Although I am a bit unhappy that Jagex have nerfed the spider familiar so that it gives less red spiders eggs with its special (initially I was getting 15-20 eggs per 10 specials, now its more like 10, or less) as I was making some useful money from it.

  5. If there exists such a way to keep/duplicate loaned items then it is a bug. Report it to Jagex. If people use it to do keep/duplicate loaned items then it is bug abuse. These people WILL be banned permanently by Jagex. So don't do it. End of story

  6. It's very funny this topic showed up here, because i talked to my friend about this subject before the realease of the high detail version. It would be great and pretty simple to make. Just go by UK:s timezone which is the "home" country of the game. Everyone would know what time is it on runescape and see the clock/timer, so there wouldn't be a problem. Some people would only play at day and some at night, whats the difference? Nothing really, but the idea of this happening would be great :) The pictures you show'd us and took look both great, I totally would support this idea, if Jagex was really planning something like this.

The difference my friend is that it would be unfair on those people who will end up playing only in daytime, or nightime. Think about it. People playing in the evening in Europe (as evening local time is probably the peak time) would only ever get to play in RS "night" (especially in the winter), whereas those playing in Australia in the evening would only ever get to play in RS "day". To make an even playing field, and to re-iterate what has been said many time on this thread, the RS "day" would have to be less than 24hrs.

  7. IMO - if the Santa suit won it should be a COMPLETE suit, ie. Hat and beard (as the head part), jacket, trousers, mittens, and boots and obviously like all recent holiday items - UNTRADEABLE.

In other words it could collapse the market in existing santas with no comeback on Jagex as their players requested it

  8. alright, doesn't look like this has been proposed yet

what if they had the time of day go by your clock on your computer. If its night time over at your house, it is night time in runescape. Thats an idea.

Not a very good one! I, probably like a lot of people, usually play in the evening which means I would always be playing in RS nighttime, and I wouldn't like that. The RS night/day period would have to be less than the real night/day period to give everyone a chance of experiancing day and night.

Clearly you haven't read even my first post well. Don't post on my thread if you can't even read through the whole post...

I have read this thread thoughly. Perhaps you should read more carefully my comments......

I was referring to the idea raised of setting RS time by your computer time. With this in mind please re-read my comment.

I actually support this idea, but RS would have to have its own time so that people could experiance all times of the RS day.

  9. I don't know about becoming more "kiddier", but the sense of risk and adventure is certainly gone with all the recent "dumbing down". Part of the adventure for me was in not knowing what was "round the corner". Nowadays there are too many warnings about what is around the corner. Things like "Its dark in here - you need a light" or "Its dangerous ahead - do you really want to die?", and don't get me on the subject of the Wildy ditch. Lets face it, since the December updates (esp. gravestones), when was the last time you died and lost everything. I know I haven't because being a high level player with all the possible teleports/transportation available to me (and a vast knowledge of the geography of RS) I can get to anywhere in RS (with the exception of the God Wars Bosses room) before my gravestone disappears and I lose everything.

  10. Simple answer.

Instead of selling your steel knives, why not use them somewhere to recoup your money through drops, plus you will also be inproving your range stat whilst doing so.

  11. alright, doesn't look like this has been proposed yet

  12. There's nothing wrong with Leo. IMO he's one of the better ones. It gives you a chance of clearing your inventory of stuuf, which, in turn allows you to stay longer training (or slaying) at one spot. The only annoying thing is that it areas like fire giants the mosters become agressive again. Leo has, on many occaisions enabled me to complete slayer tasks without an additional bank run.

  13. I like the idea of having night and day and I hope that Jagex will implement it (sould be quite easy with the new graphics). A cycle of 3 hours day followed by 1 hours night works quite well (I used to play a game called Ashen Empires that had this cycle). The "night" in this game was equivalent to a moonlight night where you could see things close by, but as you looked further it got darker and darker, until things were just a shadow, but it was never pitch black so that you could not see anything. Obviously it also had lights which you could use to improve visibility, but you could still see to a certain extent without lights.

Also, having a night/day cycle would enable "special" night time monsters, perhaps dropping night vision specs.

In addition to night/day cycles how about seasons? I would love to see a snow covered Varrock, or even a rain soaked Al-Kharid (its annual shower of rain).

  14. Sory to put a damper on this, but Random events are just that - random. There is no pattern whatsoever.

My experiance of rewards are as follows :

Clothing randoms - once you have the clothing you get 500gp (except frogs where you ALWAYS get a token)

Evil chicken - always some feathers (although number can vary), raw chicken and bones

Bobs Island - always fishing exp

Molly - reward is dependent on time taken and whether you get the right twin first time, or not (reward is in the form of noted uncut gems)

Scaperune - again dependent on time and the number of attempts taken to find the right keys (reward can be snapdragon herbs, toadflax herbs or noted gems

Shades - you get shade robes - one thing I have noticed with this is that if you have the shade robe set you get nithing from killing the shade (or maybe its just my bad luck)

Zombie - never had anything other that fishing bait or bones.

Maze - obviously dependent on how long you take to complete it

Trolls (rock and river) - can't remember

Tree spirit - never had in 5+ years of playing :wall: (well not that I can remember anyway)

Genie - always an exp lamp

Schoolmaster - always an exp book

Quiz - can't help there I always take the 1000gp

Thats all I can remember at the moment.

  15. Just studied the rules. I cannot see anything in the rules that remotely suggests that charging for item lending is breaking a rule. Perhaps someone could ask a Jagex Mod which rule is being broken? - oh we can't due to the rubbish Customer Service :wall:

IMO it is quite acceptable. If the person borrowing the item is too lazy to get one for themselves then they should pay for the privilege of temporarily "owning" the item.

On a similar vein is it moral to charge for using someone's skill via the assist system? Again all the same arguments arise, but my opinion above still stands.

Just so you know - yes I do charge for "assisting" (although I rarely do it) and if I did have anything worth lending I would charge.

  16. No - I won't be lending items. Just remember the old proverb "Never a borrower, or a lender be".

I am also fed up with the beggars. I even had someone call me a liar because I siad that I did not have a party hat or santa. To quote "Liar your lev 119 you must have one" - just because I am a high level does not imply that I have a party hat or santa - I prefer to spend my money on items that have a use. :wall:

  17. My tabs are :

Melee - all melee weaponry and armour/clothing

Range - all range weaponry and armour/clothing

Mage - all mage stuff; runes, pouches, staffs, armour etc

Herblore - all herbs, scondaries and potions

Treasure Trail items - Uri's emote needs and all TT rewards (other than those stored in my costume room)

Transport - all teleport devices; tabs, rings, etc.

Making things (can't think of a better name :wall: ) - all mining, crafting, smithing, fletching, construction items

Food and farming - all types of food, fishing equipment, seeds, etc.

Only problem not enough tabs for a more efficient system really need at least 3 more; one for hunter stuff, one for summoning stuff and one for slayer stuff. A suggestion I will probably put on RSOF.

  18.

To stop people from autoing for fun.

Autoers were able to work them out within the first month.

Yes, but the autoer programs were created by people as expert in Java as Jagex. The random events could never really stop this type of professional macro program writer. However, what they do stop (and were originally designed to stop) is the amateur programmer who knows a little bit of Java from creating macros. In fact someone like myself. I could write a program to repetitively do a task, say mining, but I have not got the expertise to deal with randoms

  19. You are all missing the point. Jagex, as a company needs to make money to enable them to continue in business. So lets see where they gat their money from.

Members pay jagex $5, or equivalent, (approx) per month.

Other companies pay Jagex for adverts on the free-to-play worlds.

Lets now consider full-screen mode. Members use full-screen mode, but Jagex still get paid (the monthly subs). F2P players use full-screen mode, Jagex get no money as the other companies adverts are no longer displayed.

From a purely business point of view would you give F2P full screen mode? I think not!
