  1. I would like to see you prove that theory. An amulet of fury does not compensate for 5% accuracy and Strength. Actually, it does. 10 in all attack, 8 str and 5 prayer does compensate for that. More than it does with a neitz or a nosepeg. When you compound your levels and your bonuses in, salve amulet (e) and the special slayer headgear are stronger than the slayer helmet and an amulet of fury.
  2. Just wear a ring of wealth. I got 2 lvl 3 clues for about 500k and a black mask (10) on my last cave horror task. There are much worse tasks than cave horrors.
  3. He's right. Sometimes I swear out of frustration on RS, but since asterisks have me covered, there's really nothing to worry about unless I bypassed the filter.
  4. With 99 strength wearing nothing but the salve ammy (e) (since nose peg offers no str bonus) you're max hit is 13, wearing nothing but a slayer helm and an ammy of fury you're max hit would be 14. Do a little research first mmkai? I would like to see you prove that theory. An amulet of fury does not compensate for 5% accuracy and Strength.
  5. Asterisks have no potential to hurt anybody. It is up to each person to use their imagination to fill in the blanks should they wish to. They shouldn't even be reportable within an inappropriate context.
  6. It drops because there is less demand - people who want it aren't willing to pay the whole price, and people who want to get rid of it are willing to sell it for less.
  7. I find it strange how combat is compared to total level, too, but I figure it is also strange that somebody would play RuneScape primarily for the combat when there are other MMO's that focus more on the quality of combat.
  8. The only time I don't do them straight after I get them is if I just drank a dose of super set. I do them all because no matter how unlucky it can turn out, it is a good use of time. I know just about every lvl 3 clue by heart excluding coordinates, so I get them done in about 10 minutes, and my average reward is around 125k. Maybe it's just that I have gotten ranger boots before, so I know it is possible. ;)
  9. I personally haven't completed too many tasks (going on 27 I believe - so I have 3 blacklists and a few spare points), but I looked into it and it really doesn't look like all that good of an investment. Yeah, sure, I will probably go out and get the ability to make it after I get off my 4th blacklist, but until then, I could care less. There are really only three tasks that need special headgear: banshees, abberrant spectres, and dust devils. Banshees and abberrant spectres are undead, so a salve amulet (e) + the special headgear would be better than slayer helmet + fury. I'm not saying the slayer helmet wouldn't benefit against banshees and spectres, it provides slight more defence bonuses and it makes you look cool. That leaves dust devils, and I am not spending 400 points to benefit one task when I can eliminate four tasks. Then there's the defence bonus. If you are getting hit so much during a slayer assignment that you think that a defence bonus similar to a rune full helmet will significantly help you, maybe you should reconsider what slayer master you are using. Convenience is also included when you get a slayer helmet. You have all of the slayer headgear packed into one, so you could go straight to dust devils or abberrant spectres from Sumona. Although, I prefer to bank and get out the proper weapons and inventory to kill those. I s'pose you could use the magic carpet to the Shantay Pass and back, but it isn't providing the motivation to get it before blacklists. All in all, it is benefitial to get, but it should not be your #1 priority of Slayer rewards.
  10. One of the many flaws of the Grand Exchange is that prices cannot change if there is no supply or demand to counterpart the other of the two. This example can apply to items such as partyhats and third age armour. People who own and want to sell partyhats are all over - there is a significant supply - as for the demand, less so. The actual price cannot change unless it passes through this intermediary. But as people are willing to sell for less and buy for more, it becomes necessary to bypass this intermediary, which we see in junk trades. The concept is that you can sell a well overpriced item for money as well as junk, and vise-versa. It is not breaking the rules, and it is clever. Some junk items that could be involved in these include javelin and dart drops from dragons and unstrung bows (maple especially). -Jholm
