so, what is the highest the dragon can hit on you with it's fire attack?

ok...im a f2p ranger, and i need a way to fight the dragon in dragonslayer. all my friends say that you cant tell when the dragon is about to use it's fire attack, so i cant know when to equip the antidragon shield. -stats- 1 attack, 1 str, 30 def, 46hp, 56 range, 1 mage, 23 prayer also...are there any safespots in the place where the dragon is?
