ok...im a f2p ranger, and i need a way to fight the dragon in dragonslayer. all my friends say that you cant tell when the dragon is about to use it's fire attack, so i cant know when to equip the antidragon shield.

Yeah tbh either become a member for a month or raise your magic. Which I would suggust anyway.

you could use acrossbow, with bronze bolts but that will be a very slow way but it allows you to wield a anti dragon shield..

Good luck trying to range it, it will only take you 6 HOURS! :D

Don't even bother doing it as a ranger, you will just get yourself killed. As you only can hit two on it, by the time you get it down to 50 hit points you would have run out of food.

i actually did dragon slayer with range at only 45 range. bronze bolts arent that slow, so it shouldnt be too bad

I don't think you can range Elvarg, you're only options are to raise your magic or lose your status as a pure and get up your Attack, Strength and Defence.

Is there a reason you arent training magic?

Bronze bolts with a crossbow, and bring 28 anchovy pizzas.

i meleed it as a pure as well and didnt die that time i just brought d hdie chaps and vamps and iron pl8 helm and anti drag shield

do it with a bronze cbow. I did it on my pure, and its just as fast as with a bow. With it at 52 range, I was hitting 5+ on it every hit with rapid. Its not that hard to do with range.

Oh news to me lol I dont play to much f2p or use bronze anything lol. My bad.

MAYBE, JUST MAYBE you could go in there before the actual fight with a bow and a couple bronze arrows and see if there are any safe spots.

 

 

 

If not the bronze crossbow and bronze bolts would be your best bat.

i have a solution! when ppl r saying u can level mage... u should. however this will not cost u any combat level. just either splash something all the time and do curse spells etc. wear full iron and splash the zammy monk under varrock castle stairs. :thumbsup: no hp levels gained and it is no combat level boosts. it works!

yeah, as everyone else said you should either get mage up or kill it with a crossbow and bronze bolts.

actually it is useful because he did state that he is a pure. correct? if he trains magic like most others it will ruin his pure. this method wont ruin his pure and then he could eventually do d slayer with magic.

you'll have two methods to kill the dragon through range attack in free world.

 

1.use the crossbow then you may also use the shield to prevent dragon fire

 

pros'

 

it can keep you safe

 

crossbow bolts in free world are cheap

 

crossbow bolts are more cost-effective than arrows

 

you can even use protect from melle to have better defence

 

 

 

cons'

 

you'll find that using a crossbow is much slower compare to a bows rapid attack

 

bronze bolts are compareable weaker than adam arrows

 

 

 

2.(not recommand)

 

use normal bows while protect from magic on

 

pros'

 

you can enjoy the speed and the power of addy arrows

 

 

 

cons

 

good arrows are rather expensive(means you'll lost more if you die)

 

protect from magic CAN'T offer wonder effect(and the prayer point matter makes this even worse)

 

you need to face two kinds of strong attack at the same time(the dragon still can treat your hide armour as paper!)

 

 

 

Conclution

 

use crossbow if you dosent have really good food and "uber" hitpoints in f2p.if you all defence,ranged and hitpoints,you can try the bow method and make a myth in runescape!

so, what is the highest the dragon can hit on you with it's fire attack?

I did it with about the same stats as you with range, using crossbow and bronze bolts and I was fine. I didn't even use that much food.

ok, thanks for the tips, i finished dragonslayer with the crossbow and bronze bolts. I bought 5k of them, but i only used 12!
