  1. I've had the same problem with chrome, on windows 7 hp 64-bit, but I've heard about the problem from others ingame too, so I think it's more likely to be a bug, in which case there's not much you can do.

If anyone does know the solution to this problem, I'd like it too. I've been playing on IE for a day or two.

    tl;dr

problem is widespread, affects firefox and chrome

    I have windows 7 64-bit home premium

    updating java doesn't help

    *shudder* IE works

  2. About time, always been telling people who bot that this'll happen.

@Stril: maybe they're trying to talk them out of all the money they're making.

    troll

    or maybe a merger!

    /troll

That said, my quest for 92 prayer has been interrupted by the spike in bone prices.

  3. To all the people talking about how a new fally park is needed, what about the varrock castle? It's heavily segmented, right beside the ge, and has a teleport almost right to it.

1st floor for everyday stuff, 2nd floor for rares, 3rd for divines/phats and such.

  4. Just adding on - If you know someone who works in computer repair/ building, ask them if you can borrow a disk and buy a sticker (product code) off them.

Might save you about $20, but if you're really tight for cash it'll work, and you might get a better version than otherwise.

I'm currently running 7 home premium 64-bit on a desktop and a laptop, and I like it.

  5. I think it counts every time you connect to the internet as a phone call, and long-distance charges still apply, so unless you want a fortune in long-distance calls to popups, then I wouldn't do it.

  6. The "sapphire" tiem location is wrong in the items database.

it reads : Sapphires can be purchased at the gem stores, however are rarely found in stock, because the stores only stock the gems that players sell to them.

This is wrong because with the personalized shops other players selling items to the store becomes irrelevant, so the sapphire stock will same the same whether or not another player sells the item to the shop.

  7. I'll second that booting a computer without any RAM won't (or shouldn't) break anything because I did it a bunch of times when I was screwing around with my first computer build (forgot to put the RAM back in -.-).

Step 1: Clear out any dust in the RAM slots, compressed air is ideal. Put the RAM back in and try again.

The computer doesn't power up. The ram slots don't impact the computers ability to power up.

If there's a ton of dust in the slot, it might impede the RAM's ability to communicate with the rest of the computer, then the memory check might fail.

Just follow Will's instructions, and you should be fine.

Otherwise, solar might be right, and it's the psu, or perhaps you somehow scratched the motherboard when removing the RAM modules.

Or maybe it's something completely unrelated....

  8. Oldjoe's setup is almost exactly what I used for my own first-time build, asides from the processor, psu and video card. (cost me ~$400)

I'll say that is works well for standard homework+ some light gaming (no fpses here)

When shopping for a case, make sure it fits your motherboard (I like to go a tier up for the extra room), along with a couple 5.25" and 2.5" bays, and also convenient usb/other ports on the front.

It should also look nice and have a few spaces for fans on it.

I can't say much about PSUs, aside from getting a modular one to reduce cable clutter.

When buying RAM, make sure it matches your motherboard's slots, along with (of course) high capacity and speed.

Using an old hard drive is a reasonable idea, but keep an extra copy of your OS on hand in case the drive fails if it's really old (5+ years).

A SSD is a solid state drive, which uses transistors instead of a spinning platter/disk to store your data. They cost way more than similar capacity regular drives, but make less (if any) noise and last longer because they don't have any moving parts. I wouldn't reccomend buying them now, because I think prices will go down eventually because it's relatively new technology.

  9. I personally think the reason (for example) dragon bones prices are so high now is because of botters.

Back in the (good old) days when d bone prices were really cheap because of botters. This lead to a bunch of people training prayer high. Because of this, stats such as 70+ prayer became bare minimums for (most) GWD teams, which lead to more people training prayer, which drove up the prices of dragon bones again, leading to more bots.

In this example, botting goes in circles, with more bots indirectly creating more bots

(you should note that all the stuff I just said is my own personal opinion, and shouldn't be taken as fact.)

Anyways, Ring_World, I suggest you have a look at this article on Internet argument techniques, especially number 10.

    Internet argument #10 :

This discussion has gone way off topic however. Lets get back on topic of the effect botters has on the game, not what is and isn't illegal as I doubt any of us have law degrees so nothing definite could be said.

Actually yes and I have been blaming Jagex for botters for a long time.

Ive gone into detail on other threads. Which you can look for youself, or i can dig up a link for you if your interested.

But heres what i think jagex should do...

I think Jagex should take an ATITD approach.

In that game part of smithing is you actually have to shape the axe with tools to make it. However its like that with almost everything, where it requires real skill to make things.

However that game goes as far as to allow macros for the more boring stuff. and the harder more worthwhile stuff cant be macroed anyways

(if you actually do have a law degree, just ignore that : P)

  10. The penguin cc is "world60peng" or it could be "world60pengs" just try both I know for sure one of them in the penguin cc I just can't remember if it has the s at the end or not.

Both the chats can be used, but the W60pengs one is for when the w60peng chat is full
