  1. It was fixed days after being discovered. It gave an advantage. It was a bug.

I'm not saying Woox should be banned for bug abusing, I'm just saying most (actually all) of his fame comes from him "finding" a bug, exploiting it, posting it on youtube, then playing shitty hardstyle over it as his horde of buttmonkey fanboys laud him as a genius.

Killing glacors post-EoC-pre-nerf was harder than ever. Obviously killing them then wasn't bug abuse. Prayer flashing isn't a bug, because, surprise, it's STILL not patched out. Maybe it wasn't "intended" at first, but Jagex definitely has no problem with it.

  2. There is a reason he isn't well liked in most PvM circles, and that is Jagex's fault, not his.

I can guess it's because he gets everything nerfed to hell.

This POP thing with randoms ruined a perfectly good end game strategy.

I'm not to happy about or that he gets a 2 month head start because he abused the living piss out of it and made a show of it.

Let's face it, the dude has friends on the developer's staff.

I can't believe he can find all these exploits on his own.

We know it's a team effort, and I bet a Jagex dev is on the team.

I was thinking the same thing. He's always among the first to just "stumble upon" these exploits. I'm especially pissed off at the PoP glitch. I've been hardcore porting since release, and I'm "only" 60% to the Pincers.

What's worse are the dickriders who will defend Woox at every turn.

P.S. He has shit taste in music and he's 12.

  3. Oh the irony

"At times in 2012, it felt like the SoF and SGS releases dominated our release schedule and news feed, and that some of the content just didn't feel like RuneScape. The team is certainly moving towards a better balance as time has gone on: I hope you'll agree that our more recent micro-payment updates are more in tune with the wider game, and that we've not released a micro-payment update on a week with no other content."

"we've not released a micro-payment update on a week with no other content update."

We had the desert task set this week. That's not ironic at all.

  4. royal is the #1 range weapon, dual x-bows are NOT as good because abilities only take in your mainhand weapon, not your offhand weapon, so royal/zaryte are better than dual ccbows... not sure about karils, but doesn't quite make sense to use a lower tier weapon than royal.

It was more of a question between a single CCB vs. Karil's twohander. But I just decided to get a royal crossbow, as I just realized how cheap they were.

  5. Which would be the better choice?

Chaotic crossbow with royal bolts and a shield (perhaps eagle eye kite)? Or Karil's crossbow with bolt racks? I know CCB is higher tier, so higher accuracy and higher bolt damage, but is the 2h damage bonus of Karil's crossbow enough to make up for that?

I was also considering getting a royal crossbow. The repair is essentially "free" right? But there's no way I'm getting an offhand CCB, until they buff dual wield range at least. Does the shield defence from CCB+EEKS make it preferable over a royal crossbow, anyway?

One more thing... how much does the speed matter on ranged weapons? I know it's practically pointless for melee, as long as you're constantly using abilities, and magic's attack speed matters a bit more, because you can get autocasts in between abilities, but I don't have much experience with ranged in EoC.

  6. Fallout 3 did have those cool guys who worshiped the atomic bomb.

Completely slipped my mind because I'm not used to character depth in a Bethesda game

For the record, I'm not trying to say that there aren't/never were people like that, I'm saying that the video game industry uses that characterization about as much as it uses fanservice and dull brown environments, and I'm starting to think it's lazy writing more than anything else: "Let's make this story gritty and realistic by adding religious extremists!" instead of using actual maturity and depth.

It is mature and deep, but it's old hat and entirely cliche at this point. However, Runescape has had a lot of religious extremism since the gods were introduced anyway Now we're actually hearing the story from one of their sides, as opposed to "Oh my God/Saradomin/Guthix, an evil Satanic/Zamorakian/Zarosian/Bandos/Menaphite monk! Let's kill him for some prayer xp or something!"

  7. Weew, discovered 'teamviewer' for on my mobile phone. Works as a charm, no lag at all, even when i am outside of the house on a 3G network it works great. This way I wont have to worry that i miss out on voyages when I go to school from 8:30AM till 17:00PM

You do realize specifying AM and PM while using military time is completely redundant, right?

  8. I have confirmed that the system update locks ships into the minute status thing.

If they have made port randoms different so that they can't do that anymore, it seems like the post update nerfs have struck once again. Making the top players richer, the less than top player poorer...once again it pays to be quiet until you've got yours, and then burn that bridge so that only you get the benefits. Don't even have to bribe anybody, clean and simple.

    Welcome to RuneScape!

People who abused it should be have their progress rolled back to where everyone else is at. It wouldn't be too hard to do either and show Jagex actually cares.

So that'd make banking effects for later use on much harder voyages a bannable offence :s

That is not the same as finding an exploit and using it to get ahead of everyone, then telling everyone or Jagex about it so Jagex will fix it, when armor worth 500m+ per set is up for grabs for the first few who manage to grab it.

Wait wait wait, what happened? I haven't been paying much attention to this thread, or Runescape in general for the past few days ([bleep]ing Dark Souls). What was the glitch? How behind will I be compared to the cheaters? Where are the bans? Where is JUSTICE?

  9. Please keep this shit out of general discussions. This has absolutely nothing to do with Runescape.

Too bad there is no Jagex discussion section and this does not really belong into offtopic either.

As others have said, I doubt that this will really impact Runescape in any kind of way.

    @ Cheefoo

This is the GD section, and this is really the only appropriate board for this kind of discussion.

Please keep this shit out of general discussions. This has absolutely nothing to do with Runescape.

Last I checked, Jagex owned and operated Runescape.

Please keep this shit out of general discussions. This has absolutely nothing to do with Runescape.

Yea, what does an issue affecting Jagex have to do with RuneScape? I mean, it's not like the two are connected.

I doubt that they will shut down Jagex. The investors wouldn't let this cash cow die so easy.

Maybe we should have a Jagex General Discussions forum. We seem to get a new thread about this kind of stuff every few days.

  10. I have to say, strapping a merchant to every ship I own was probably the best idea I've had in ages

This is great *if* you are 100% all voyages.

Anything less than 100% it's not so great; if you happen to succeed its all good but if you fail due to less than 100% then the extra percent from a normal crew man could've made the difference between no pay out and pay out.

That's a kinda silly way to look at it. Let's say you do voyages that give 100 resources. With +20% resource bonus, that's 120. But if that reduced you to, say 90% success, you're still getting 108 on average. At 80% you're at 96 average. So at over 80%, it's a better idea to bring a +20% resource guy than to elect for a 100% chance without him.

However, when you fail, it might not simply reduce the resources gained to zero. Crew members could die, ship might need repairs, or on a lighter note, you might actually recover a chunk of the resources from the mission reward. Depending on how often these occur, it could really affect the calculations.

Remember, hindsight is 20/20. If you somehow fail a 99% voyage with a merchant-type, who could've been replaced with someone to get 100% success, don't blame him. It's all about the averages.

  11. [bleep]ing haters. [bleep]ing Jagex. [bleep]ing life...

And btw the only reason Fairy Yui is temp banned is because she has ~80b and she if were banned the economy would be even more [bleep]ed up than it already is.

Also because she is the only female on that list.

A J-Mod confirmed that her bank videos were fake and she had nowhere near 80b.

But Jmods say they never look into players' bank accounts using their magical powers. Not like it's invading their privacy or anything, but omfg jagex u went back on a nother proimse unsubbing ruimedscape

Glad to see they're actually banning [bleep]ing cheaters.

  12. When you have plenty of time to play (such as now, during the holiday break), you can definitely do all the hook voyages every day, without needing to reroll. But with work/school/etc, not so much (assuming you can't log in during work/school).

I'm home all day, chafing at the bit to get my voyages done, and I can never manage to get all my Hooks done in a day. I have to re-roll about 3-5. Maybe if I stayed up all night I could improve that number... YES, that's what I must do.

  13. For those in the hook region are you all still able to do all the voyages given in a day or are we suppose to pick our poison and reroll what you seem unneeded like finding new traits and such.

I can usually do all my hook missions in any given day. I usually re-roll the ones that have too insane requirements for me though. (10k single stats, 5.5k double, etc)

If you re-roll, then you aren't doing "all of them in a given day". No shame in that, though. You definitely must re-roll once in a while.

  14. Copied from HLF:

Picture of new Scythe crewman: http://imgur.com/tJ52a

Voyages take 4:42 base duration. 7 hours for special ones it seems.

    From Woox16:

Reached the Scythe aswell. There's a new guy named "Bureaucrat" with the Solidarity trait (woot blk.gif). 250 in all stats except 0 speed. Costs 1.2k chimes and 500 cherrywood. Give +75 stats for every unique member.

New merchant aswell. 250 morale, costs 500 chimes and 220 cherrywood. Increase goods by 25%. Is named "Merchant".

Edit: And since the pirates base level is 750, the stats of the special crew from island will be 750 in one stat and 500 in another. Hopefully seafaring and morale since we haven't had that combo yet.

Got a standard voyage. Reward is 15 spices. Reqs are 6.5k in all skills and duration is 7h and 3 minutes. Perhaps it's time to use the reroll button...

Looks like another reference to [hide]Dwarf Fortress[/hide]
