  1. Amgz, got my english paper back today! ^^ Twas an A* I'll copy and paste it so you can read ;) [hide=A*!!!!!!!!]Brantingham Dales, Argue, persuade and advise Brantingham dales; a picturesque dry valley above Brantingham village. It contains many woods, with a variety of trees and wildlife. It attracts many visitors per year, because of its beautiful chalky grassland features, wild grazing rabbits and sheep, aswell as rockrose and wild thyme. If the ash and silver birch trees dont want you returning, nothing will. Recently, a government plan to build a £100 million pound airport was raised. As many bonuses as this has, the environmental impact would not only ruin the dales itself, but surrounding area. Firstly, the airport would cover 2 square miles of this natural wonder, covering the chalky grassland that millions per year come to view with wonderous, wonderous tarmac. How could one not love the glorious sight of 2 miles of lush grey, brittle floor when they roll down the car window? I for one would prefer a more natural sight, instead of the urban jungle within the natural jungle they propose. Also, Brantingham can just about deal with the amount of tourists in cars already, but the airport would bring 20,000 more cars per year. This wouldnt be such a problem, if they were coming for the tourism, instead of the 9:15 flight to Gibralta. Sure, they could stop off at the side of the road for a while to eat their picnic, then the tourism would hack itself down their throats. But is that the point of tourism? The definition since I last checked was when somebody visits something, with the purpose of visiting it. What has this countrys government come to when they put the tax money into improving tourism, when the only way you can view it is involuntarily? £100 million is being spent on the airport, YOUR money, and when will you visit it? Why go to a small airport like this in North Yorkshire, when you can fly all around the world somewhere closer? The money could be spent on lots more than one airport, offering the same flights as everywhere else. This isnt the only cost the airport will take from you; a 30% increase in pollution is estimated each year, excluding the pollution from the 20,000 car increase and noise pollution. Oh, but wont the glorious ash and silver birch trees, aswell as the grassland, take in the C02 and drop the pollution? I hear you cry. Well, they might have, if 2000 of them werent being cut down. Whatever stumps are left will be covered by said glorious tarmac, trapping any hope of green underfoot. Not only does the government want to kill off tourism, it wants to sacrifice the fluffy little bunnies with their cute noses and frolicking for cheap £30 flights and a Primark. Good thing Primark does all their labour in China, or theyd take the animal fur here too. BUT THINK OF THE BARGAINS! You shout once more, BUT THINK OF THE BUNNIES! Id respond. I propose this airport Is a matter of life (Mainly bunnies) or Shoes. Further more, the green belt that borders the dales is a government plan to preserve wildlife and reduce emmisions, right? Another plan down the drainThats right, it too will disappear, turning a seemingly green belt into a grey strip; Bye bye bunnies. No point is made until the opposition has been thwarted, however. The airport would bring 1000 new jobs, more tourists and money to the local village of Brantingham. With 1000 new jobs, comes either 1000 cars or other means of transport to get to work, or 1000 new homes within the area. More cars means more pollution, and more pollution means dead bunnies, once again. And with more houses, there would be more residents, which means roads and shops and building works would have to be supplied, notwithstanding the benefits that would have to be paid to 80 year old Doris Day, working in primark for a living, and the 999 others who would house up here. The tourists would bring money, yes, but what would that be used for? More buildings? It wouldnt be spent on conservation, as theres nothing to conserve but glorious grey tarmac. The amount of tourists would result in the introduction of what I call the When to go game. People wanting to visit start thinking Well, if we go today, everyone else will be going too, because of the sheer amount of tourists. The bonuses just wouldnt do. I beg the reader to take a stand against the airport. Railing yourself to the nearest ash tree isnt necessary, but you can sign the online petition to stop this from happening. Brantingham dales needs you, the beauty and nature will die without you, and furthermoreWe dont need another Primark. http://www.bunniesforbrantingham.com[/hide]

  8. [hide=Introduction]My name is Ash, and i'm 16 from Ye olde England. I live with my parents and sister, with about 12 or 13 cats now. I spend quite a bit of time on Runescape, generally just messing around :P. My hobbies include music, the theatre and my computer. I enjoy music because it's so unreal how one can master an instrument, and bring them together to create a piece. My favourite band would be Rise against because I Like their political side to the music, and they're just so awesome I Also like Paramore, Kill Hannah and Bon Jovi. My tastes vary, but i'd say i was into Alternate rock the most. I Play SOME guitar, I got a fender strat for my birthday (4th January ), so i've been self teaching myself that. I absolutely ADORE drama, i think it's just awesome. I go to the theatre regularily, mostly to the 2 nearest theatres to me, But i occasionally like to go and see performances at the west end, such as Avenue Q and Wicked. I Would say i'm a computer nerd, I Spend most of my time on it. I Love to hang around the forums, and i'm especially busy since i'm part of TET. School's okay, i study Drama, Geography and History as my chosen GCSE options. I Also like to draw in my spare time, you can view some of my work at my DevArt; http://omnitec.deviantart.com So yeah, a bit about me for you there.[/hide] [hide=The road to the heavens]So I decided to become a Saradomin owl in Runescape.
