For my opinion,before grand exchange exist,we(old timers you can say) are having a hard but undeniably,fun times shouting(in chat) at falador world 2.. or varrock world 1..and make negotiations(between buyer and seller,discount,price values,etc) and so on...Yeah,most of the materials are self-collect but it was great then,you tend to enjoy the part of the game which you make things yourself..your hard work.. Now,the grand exchange exists..People can make a few search and clicks and pays for the requested item and next they just need to wait...For my opinion,this is not a bad thing either,as people will be able to save precious time(as people say,time is money).The hard-to-obtain materials can be obtained in the grand exchange..for a price of course . So,i would wish to express a few points for both supporting and not-supporting members.. -People uses the grand exchange to obtain things easily..or purchase things in large(or small quantity).They PAY according to the price set by the grand exchange(from minimum price till maximum price),they(those who arent supporting the quote saying that ge users are lazy people) thinks that buying items from ge saves alot of time,this is PERFECTLY true.For example,it would take ages to prepare 5k swamp tars..So,why not pay for it?and saves time?(time is also money you know).By utilizing the time you have saved,it is possible that you re-earn back the money you have used!(re-earn back the money is also hard work also,not laziness). -Well,for supporters of this topic.Well,it is good to see old-timers still practising the ''traditional runescape ways ''.Yes,you save money and you work hard!So,what much is the difference?you uses time to obtain something,and you save money,whereas ge users buy things in ge(saves time) but lose money(alot if you r buying large quantities of items). The question is only wheter ge users can afford to make a purchase or not?they uses runescape currency(gp) to exchange for time(real life of course) Conclusion is,both people who uses ge and gathers materials for own use are the same.Only 2 factors influences this topic,which is: 1.Do you have the time? 2.Do you have the money? Forgive me for giving basic points only,but isn't it the main thing that you are discussing?For my opinion,it only depends wheter you can satisfy which factor(1 or 2)..or the way you want to enjoy the game?The road is yours,and has always been yours.Thank you. ~chvtky~ P.S:lol i've used tip.it for ages already,but i just registered today..rofl
