Thinking about the future yet membership is in decline.
...Which should make it obvious that the older system just isn't working.
Decline would mean, theres more people leaving the game than coming into it.
Meaning people are not satisfied in jagex's dirrection for current game updates. Creating a F2P game that gets people engaged should be one update on its own. Else it just makes it look ugly and patchy.
Planning for the future does not necessitate them keeping all of the grumpy, demanding "veterans".

Firmly grasp it.

We introduced micro payments into Runescape a year ago and that’s been well received by the investors.

Ooh – I missed this article when it was originally posted …

Wait – where the hell does this image posted on Forbes come from?
It's the Wizard Tower.
Another strategy Jagex has employed with its games from the early days is utilizing the cloud – before the cloud became a mainstream way for games to be distributed. The company has been doing virtualization in the cloud for over a decade.Jagex used the cloud before it was cool.

No because you're helping them alch and alching is bad
Promote alching awareness.
Iron platebodies are 100/4, though I don't know how the demand for them is.
Edit: Could also skim through this rather exhaustive list if you feel up to it.

You seem to be carrying a legless man on your back.

How on earth do they know how many friendships are forged each day via RS?
Adding people to your friend list.
Runescape players are capable of devouring over 400 pounds of meat in a little more than half of a second.
Actually the reason I am surprised is because it is in the 'Beyond the Game' section, along with stats on YT vids and forum posts. Which implies the friendships are made "outside" the game rather than just adding people to friends lists. And hence it's pretty creepy if they know about them. But yea. Creative reasoning indeed...
They're just sugar coating it. I'm a pretty social person in game and add a lot of people to my friend's list, but I could count the people I would be interested in meeting irl on one hand. I don't need all of the fingers on that hand either.

Sauron.
Perhaps a combination of his 99 runecrafting being far less impressive these days, as well as the fact the method this is achieved with is inside his very house.

It's the same creative statistical interpretations when we were told that over 95% of players were in favor of the SoF ... by way of daily spin usage.
*shrug*
I thought the infograph was neat and I always appreciate seeing female characters dressed like actual fighters rather than a cheap [bleep].
I appreciate anything that is not Ariane staring at me every time I log in. Not what I play for Jagex...

I think he's sarcastically referring to how it cost them in excess of 42M GBP to create (floor value based on minimum wage).
And then people want them to just remove it. Guess I should have put it in quotes or something.

Revert EoC!

edit: nvm but I still hate nis
And the issue is back
1) Idk if this is happening with other people, but every time I log in my interface is messed up, even when its locked. In the picture above, obviously my settings bar was aligned perfectly at the top and now its [bleep]ed :s
2) This friggen castle wars blinking arrow. I clicked 'take me der!' because I wanted to see what happened - ofc I lodestone teled and the blinker showed up. Now I cannot get it to leave. I'll get in a cwar game, I'll talk to Lanthus, anything and fricken everything yet it still persists. Much like runescape's bot problem.
For the first issue, make sure there is a bit of a gap between the offending window and any adjacent windows.
For the second, I have no idea.

I'm looking forward to seeing how fast we can run out of money.

A few questions regarding these:
Can they be keepsaked?
Can you get them as a drop, or do they randomly spawn?
Is the Jmod clone event completely random, or does it have a set schedule like a community event?

Someone stop him.

Yeah probably... I think they should switch the penalty of Power and Hybrid tbh...Would it see more use if it didn't have such a massive defense penalty?
Really? Grant power armour greater defence? Jeez... way to make Tank gear even more obsolete.
Giving power armor a 15 level defence penalty would make it horrible to tank with. The defensive penalty to power armor right now is pretty much a slap on the wrist, it's almost nothing.

Why'd they have to slap that blue circle onto the skillcape? Didn't they learn from what they tried to do to Prayer/Thieving etc? :P
Yeah but the difference is that, this time around, people won't be able to complain that "the cape looked better before."
Complaints, uh, find a way.

Is anyone else extremely disappointed in the actual gameplay of the world event?
From the way they described it, I didn't think it was just racing to tag trash monsters and skilling for negligible amounts of xp...
Yeah I was expecting something alot more interesting.
Look up just a few posts :P Hopefully the reinforcements will make it far more interesting. Zalok said he heard that both sides were going to be receiving their "traditional powerhouses", so I'm hoping for some Flash Mob-esque demons and big "noble" creatures like the above.
At that, has anyone else noticed how Saradomin seems to only have mammals in his command, while deadthix had all scaly and slimy creatures?
Saradomin is basically the medieval catholic church, in which serpents and the like are considered evil.

This picture has been going around the HLF according to Reddit. Looks legit.
Seems like the boss for some sort of "God Invasion" themed update in the future. Jagex did mention that some gods would try to take over certain places--perhaps this is one of the minions that will be leading the charge in the RS3 world events.
Anyone else remember this? Hopefully we'll get to see them sooner rather than later.
Someone needs to tell Jagex that there's more to good character design than simply putting knives everywhere. Also seems to be shooting soul arrows.

Scrimshaw master race.
Are we really just now putting limits on what you can and cannot put in your pocket? Because over two billion cannonballs are ok, but not a coffee thermos.

Current setup.

According to the Official Wiki, both sets of Warpriest armor have a set effect, with a percent chance to reduce incoming damage to 1/10th of the original amount.
With three pieces of the set it starts at 3%, but with the full set it increased to 6%.
Quite interesting and useful in certain situations--maybe we will be seeing more set effects like this in the future?
I just realized that this is basically the elysian effect on easy to get armor. I...I don't know what to say. Suddenly it seems as if defensive armor could possibly become a viable choice in the future.

The seasonal hiscores are a great idea, I wonder what kind of challenges we'll have next. Most Livid Farm points?
It certainly looks like a powerful tool to get people to play otherwise dead content. I mean even a week or two of playing something like Soulwars or Barbarian Assault might be enough to restore confidence in there being games available. A kick start might be all they need to get going again.

They release them at such a rate that you will quickly rack up years of membership. At that point you are effectively buying the items, which many people find fault with. Who actually needs their membership to extend until fall 2016?
