  1. Pity, the black lines really hurt it. You wouldn't by any chance have a version without them would you?

I don't think they hurt it, but give it a more cartoony feel. You don't like that nad?

Not really a fan of the rough cartoony look. That being said I'm not a huge fan of runescape fanart in general (I don't think the game provides good enough looking base to inspire from ;p) but I think that no black lines would have really helped it.

    This post holds epic truths.

  2. I'm not going to get into an argument about it. All I know is the one thing that kept me going wasn't the people saying "great job, you're awesome!", it was the person who literally flamed my work so hard that he got a temp ban for it, the person who drove me to become better just to prove to him that dammit I am a good artist.

The point is, it was all of the "Witty_Fool's" out there who inspired me to keep going. Yes, having positive reinforcement is nice now and then (and honestly a good mix is great) but don't slam someone when they give honest criticism, it's annoying. If you want to be Mr. Positive and motivate people, be my guest.

(And for the record I was horrible back then and I'm really lucky to have people who made me strive to be better).

And I'm glad we had this discussion and you know, I will still always respect you still, especially for the positive CC you gave me when I also first started.

  3. The idea in itself is just great. I'm wondering how you had the sickle float like that...or was it attached to something?

I'd definitely like to see more, mate :P

  4. Yes Nardil, yes I was. It was because of people giving me motivation that I tried harder to meet their expectations. I didn't want to let them down as they encouraged me on. That's why I'm so dissapointed now when I see the 1-liners people give out which are sometimes so blunt, it gives little for motivation, even detracts from it.

It's so subtle, it's hard to notice, but it's there. It was only when I took a hard look at this topic...then the identical one in Zybez {http://www.zybez.net/community/index.php?showtopic=1236493}, I was so depressed. Despite this post maybe being deleted, I mean, I just feel so sullen at that fact.

I very much miss those old days.

Edit: I guess I'm also just partial to new artists and users and am quite anal about C+C.

  5. What you did doesn't look terrible, but you didn't do much at all. Most good fakes are rather elaborate and have a good punchline. This one was just "hey, let's see if I can draw cat ears on a runescape person."

Which still is bloody imaginative, have I seen you making anything lately? Why is everyone dogging on her/him? It's the baby steps that lead up to great wonders. You all sicken me with your rudeness. I must thank Mario for his great rating and true insight.

I apologize to the TC on behalf of the rude comments shown on this board.

Dear lord, stop being such a [kitty] Jack. He wasn't even rude, and the fake IS unimaginative. Hell, he even told her the right thing to do (set up a good punchline, or be elaborate).

Honestly your whole "don't be negative!" deal is really starting to get on my nerves, it doesn't [bleep] help at all.

For the love of god, I do not want to veer this topic away, but it does help. I can not mention how many times I've seen aspiring artists quit because they recieved so much heat from their peers. It's a sad thing because I'm always so joyful when I see others indulging in a hobby I so, myself, love. There are always better ways to give criticism which give support and help people improve.

I mean, really, the title even says "A SIMPLE Fake". The artist obviously didn't mean to make it out to be the next Mona Lisa, so why bring it to that level? Appreciate it, give nudges in the right direction, don't rip it to shreds. #-o

  7. It's just a darker rock under his foot.

It took about 1 1/2 hours to make.

    And.......

The sketchy style takes longer and is harder, yet I really prefer it, but I'm trying get used to cartoony style for a request I'm about to do :P

Also, check more on your anatomy, do 2min quick drawings...

Please, have you seen the terrible quality JPG before you faceplant?

Your an Idiot.... it isn't low quality....

    It WAS

Get off your MS paint and use some Photoshop, then kindly go away.

Post the end result, I can't be bothered to watch a low quality youtube video.

    That was a bit rude.

    Onto the image itself, now.

It's funny, but I think a bit more contrast would do it well, especially on the horse/slave/guy/whatever(lol) to give the image a bit more depth. Otherwise, it was nice to see a step-by-step on a full video.

Although I was hoping you'd do more pixels, I also hope you post more digi-paintings ::'

  9. I do hope I have potential.

    Thank you.

I can also take criticism, but I embarassingly don't take it very well when under pressure of being accused of using brushes and effects (still don't see what's wrong with that)

  10. I misread your super-fun-time-quote.

I'm sorry then, I just found it a bit odd, I hadn't recently seen you call out other GFX artists on this forum on their use of filters and brushes. It's also odd that if you could care less, why even bother making me vindicate myself in the first place?

It's also sad, because you actually know very little about what I could've done by hand and what could've been an effect. By my first reference, I think it's plausible (by no means bragging) I can get 'somewhere' without effects. So if you would be so kind, just as friendly advice, don't be so quick to post when you're bored. It could seem a little more harsh than you would intend it to be.

  11. Where, exactly, did I say it was all my work from scratch?

Even when posting up signatures I collaborated upon, I even cited credit, even said it in the title that it was obviously not all my work. As for everything else, I was very concise and to the point, I never took credit when brushes were used, nor did I brag that my work was done 100% by a normal brush.

Hiimben, you're being a jerk. If anyone was spoiling 'fun-time', it'd be you.

References to all my topics and posts I've made since I've joined for evidence I never stole nor claimed any work if unrightly so:
