Yeah, I wanted a good faith effort from both sides.
I don't know if you noticed, but a lot more than 2 people felt a huge need to see certain moderators removed from power.
Two of which demonstrated within the past week yet again that they are willing to do something purely out of pride, that they KNEW was wrong.
I've noticed whats happened, and i've said multiple times that I cannot condone every action - say it was the right one, but I will say as a user, you only see so much of what goes on, and you guys are quite biased in your personal judgements of who is bad/good as a moderator.

Yep, No remorse, no regrets, I'm sure I could find other people in your group who would of been happy with removed warnings and a forum created ran by the people who actually used it. People who wanted to work with us. I posted my logs too - just because 1) I have nothing to hide 2) I wanted mine incase yours posted first might of been altered.
Which reminds me...if you wanted to build your community so much...why are you so worried with this one exactly?

I'll concede, that I did try to get them to stay. If you got 30 pissed off users, 2 of which want to go make there own playground elsewhere because they are butthurt, you bet your damn hat i'm going to do everything I can to reach a compromise with the other 28. If someone's hellbent enough to see that as powergrabbing (not that I needed more power, I had all I ever needed on the admin team and could walk back on anytime, not that i needed more responsibility here (I was spending 4-6 hours a day on this place as is ) Then yeah, I did it.'
My goal was to get angry users and turn them into pleased ones, and if that meant people who were leaving would stay and not go contribute to a new community out of anger or spite, then yeah, I wanted to "drive a wedge" between the community.
The main part of our discussion was the new metagame forum, it had lots of ideas/concepts discussed, such as making it private, application based, invite only - ran by members of the metagaming community (I mean, they said multiple times most of us were not qualified to run it, what else was i supposed to suggest?) and instead of feedback or a different idea, they saw it as "Tempting people with power" dont know about you but, the last thing i'd want to be tempted with is dead end, no thanks, brutal cog-like job to mod a board on tif.
I offered to remove some warnings and Ban's - this didn't really spark interest either, I believe some were lifted anyway during our review procedure.
at the end of the day, you refused to let us stay independent until we saw results.You want us back first, then have results on TIF later.
Yeah, I wanted a good faith effort from both sides.

I'm sick and tired of you and a few people acting like crybabies.... I mean you guys (since i'm splitting you according to you, you obviously consider the group as one - right?) left out the fact some of you spammed porn, looked up an administrators personal information and posted pictures of their house on the forums and [cabbage] and you're acting like you're mother [bleep]ing innocent? Or did you hope no one would mention that stuff? The admins have been playing nice, really nice.

Then I suggest if you honestly want to be heard - act professional. I can tell you from experience that You guys have acted like a lynch mob the past few pages. As someone who actually sympathized to a degree with the situation you guys had, your actions and attitude has turned me off majorly.
Also - How the piss do you document a phone call anyways? xD

Ridiculously enough; yes.
I feel the administration and staff has been more than fair, and interested in solving this for the last few pages.
Does it really [bleep]ing matter how the original jagex contact was made? as an ex-admin, I could of picked up the phone and played god and contacted jagex myself and posted an answer. I suggested email, because it's really plain as day obvious to anyone with an IQ high enough to wipe their ass that nothing short of a written answer, most likely, research paper with citations from jagex would be written off as [cabbage].
I'm not going to say the tip.it staff has handled this entire start to finish perfect. I believe they are painfully aware of that. I can name [cabbage] i'd of wanted done differently, stuff that should of been done differently and stuff that was done right.
The part that matters? the group of volunteers thats getting pretty much crucified upside down here actually cares and WANTS to improve. I've seen [cabbage]ty run forums, and yeah, that includes tip.it in the past - guess what? I've been banned for criticizing staff (and I was less harsh, obnoxious and more professional than the vast majority of you guys have been the past few pages) and pretty much my only words of wisdom are "grow the [bleep] up"
You went from people i respected to a degree to what i can't but help as read as whining sniveling, burthurt spoilt brats.
I want a happy nice tip.it thats an intellectual haven as much as ANYONE, i worked 3 years trying to promote that, but if you seriously keep acting the way you have been.
Get the [bleep] out.

It's becoming increasingly clear again - that some of you guys really have no intention of working things out here. Some of you - Like yourself Nifflin - do have that intent and I hope this [cabbage] ends soon, but some like grimy, never had a [bleep]ing desire to work it out, I know I spent hours talking to him as an admin as was all but blown off as he "never intended to agree"

Jagex have been contacted regarding the scripts (with examples provided) and yes, they confirmed that is against the rules.
You're also acting like that's the only point of contention about the scripts also, there's lots more wrong with some of them than just moving to a specific point.
Is there any way you can provide proof to back this up? I just have a hard time taking anyone's, not just your, word on a topic in such a grey area, especially since I have heard conflicting information from multiple sources.
Unless things have changed quickly, It should be simple enough to paste the reply from Jagex.

Here's a brilliant concept: Forward said code on to the Tip.it Jagex Liaison as part our "platinum" ranking and get an official statement that can be deemed/illegal or not.
It's an email away still right? The people in support are not authorities on Macro's and Neither is anyone in the Administration as we are players to or at least that seems to be how the users feel, so I don't think it should be too difficult to get an official statement.
I'd do it myself but that would make me a bad boy ;)

why curtail discussion and inhibit it? Bot's pertain to runescape and in a game environment thats lacking game-breaking updates people will talk about what the "issues" in runescape - and bots ARE the issues. If Jagex comes here - they need to see players feel bots are out of control, they could miss a sticky.
With metagaming in it's own forum, general will slow down

Look at the dates = two+ days of threads visible from the main page. remove those bot threads and general will look dead - if people wanted to talk about other things, they might actually reply to them!

I do agree with tripsis that standards do need to be maintained for content in outgoing links in signatures.
I do - from my limited knowledge as a user (after getting both sides stories) think both sides could of handled it better. Neither side is perfect imo.

The maturity on this thread was fantastic to start out with but seems to be going downhill. 2 Months ago the users who are "wanting to talk freely about botting" asked that we become stricter on rule breaking admittance, and now that it's the case, they are complaining about the rule that THEY wanted. :rolleyes:
"OMG mods suck!" comments are ridiculous, they are just enforcing the rules. Rules that were requested by the community. To get on there backs because of it is one of the most childish things I have seen. Grow up.
The staff made changes before, if you wanted rules to be changed, the link to the feedback thread has been posted a few times. Use it.
You know as well as I do how close of a line it is to walk, personally I felt admitting rulebreaking should apply to achievement threads and not be used as ammunition to warn/punish/remove posts, whatever has been, or might be done to curtail intelligent discussion.
Part of the problem though is people never see whats removed so to some users, various levels of quality posts were removed. I've been following this for awhile out of sheer interest and haven't personally seen much groundbreaking thought removed, then again, I've got no way to doublecheck that.
A little more on topic, this thread is very interesting. I read some of the bot/hacking forums when I was an admin as there where connections to people pm'ing the staff for information and it amazes me how many people bot, not just to play but to make rl money. People making a Billion Gp or more every few months from running bot farms blows my mind. I voted no on free trade as this is what would "kill rs" before and what will "kill rs" now.
That blew my mind too, and is one factor I'm thrilled to not touch anymore, i'd say we got 2 or 3 fraudulent info requests we had to deny weekly. lol
I gotta admit I can't see the posts removed (this user business is rough) I have to admit there were some posts I meant to reply too that have been removed, it's annoying for me as a user
