  1. We all know that Jagex stated Mechscape would be as big as Runescape at its release... But how is that possible? Jagex started with RS classic and spent about 7-8 years bringing such a big game like Runescape, now how could Mechscape be as big as runescape and they have been working 2-3 years on it? It would be a shock for everybody having a BIG game release in one day. What about bugs? Will it be full of bugs and just like runescape jagex would sacrifice a whole 1 or 2 years to just keep playing the cat and the mouse game with the fixing bug thing?
  2. Please tell me what health problem do YOU know that marijuana could cause... Other than smoke because it can be vaporized or eaten.. I agree with you...
  3. I'M NOT ENCOURAGING ANYBODY (STRICTLY CHILDREN) TO SMOKE MARIJUANA. MARIJUANA IS CURRENTLY ILLEGAL AND POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA IS STRICTLY ILLEGAL IN SOME COUNTRIES. I DO NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR MISUSE OF ANY INFORMATION HERE. THIS WHOLE DOCUMENT DEAL WITH MATURE CONTENT AND EXPRESS PERSONAL VIEWS ON AN ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE. READER DISCRETION IS STRONGLY ADVISED! Okay, So I decided to make a short resume about the movie The Union. You can watch the full movie here. I just took notes of the important keywords and put them in a word document to share it with all of you who won't have time to watch the movie/too lazy to and/or just can't watch the movie. Brief marijuana history 101: Cannabis can be hemp. It is the most durable natural soft fiber on the surface on this planet. Since thousands of years, hemp always had many uses on the industry. A lot of medicines and clothes were made from hemp. It is said that the famous movie "Reefer Madness" caused marijuana to be illegal. It was believed that marijuana caused the user to be violent but many politicians later opposed that myth. In fact, marijuana calms and mellows the user. -Does prohibition really works? Prohibition in fact has never worked. Prohibition has never stopped people from using marijuana. In 1937, it was estimated that there was 15,000 marijuana users. Now, it is estimated to be 15,000,000+ marijuana users. -Dangerous of using marijuana? People believe it kills brain cells, etc... The government did an experiment on monkeys to determine and see if marijuana kills or causes any damage to the brain or brain cells. The monkeys died. 6 years later it was finally released how the experiment was made. They pumped astronomical amount of smoke on monkeys. The smoke and the lack of oxygen made the monkeys suffocate and die. The dead brain cells were from the lack of oxygen and not from pot. Thus, the experiment results were invalid. In fact, in 2005 a study showed that marijuana could stimulate the growth of brain cells on the brain. -What about lung cancer? All the studies used always that marijuana "may" or "should" cause lung cancer. But it has never been reported that someone had lung cancer solely from using marijuana. But smoke is harmful because of the proprieties of smoke. Any smoke could harm your lungs. But nothing in the cannabis plant ever caused lung cancer. A study has been made and showed the tobacco smoke is more harmful than marijuana smoke. -Which drug is causing more death per year? Tobacco kills more people than all illegal drugs combined with accidents and aids per year. It causes over 450,000 deaths per year. Even knowing that tobacco is being the number one killer in the country, the government still plants it and sells it. Then we got alcohol. It is responsible for the death of over 85,000 people per year. Then we got caffeine which cause from one to 10,000 deaths per year. Even aspirin causes from one to 7500 deaths per year. What about marijuana? People believe it kills from 50,000 to hundreds of billions per year. In fact no single case of death has been attributed from using marijuana in the history of the human kind from thousands of years. You have to smoke 15,000 joints in 20 minutes to die from marijuana which is almost impossible. -What about addiction? Only 3% of the patients on the rehab system went voluntarily from being independent on marijuana. The others were either told by a judge or a guardian. Some people get the choices either going to jail or you go to a treatment. Everyone chooses to go to a treatment. They consider these people addicts. Marijuana is known to be less addictive than coffee. There are no severe withdrawal symptoms after stopping the use of marijuana. Its use can be discontinues easier than any other drugs. -Marijuana is more potent now. Marijuana being more potent now won't change its effects it had thousands of years ago. For it being more potent will just take fewer amounts from a user to get high thus, inhaling less smoke. And marijuana could never be overdosed. -Is marijuana a gateway drug? Many studies had been done and never actually found something IN marijuana that could push user to go for "hard drugs"(such as cocaine, heroin, etc...) In fact, any drug (such as food) could lead in using another drug. Example: milk could lead someone to drink alcohol. Because of the current status of marijuana, users are forced to deal with the black market. Prohibition could be the reason of marijuana being a gateway drug. (Common scenario: -You got weed man? -No man but I got you these nice pills/powder/etc... I will let you try some for free.) Many black market dealers now tend to go for harder drugs. Why? It is easier to carry pills and powder that could be easily hidden. Marijuana is harder to hard and to sell. It has a strong smell so it makes it harder for dealers to carry it. -You will be useless to society if you use marijuana, right? No. If that's true, then there are about 50 million people who smoke marijuana in the USA and over half of the population of Canada has tried marijuana at least once and yet both societies seems to flourish. Even some famous celebrities use marijuana. Many musicians and writers use marijuana daily. Even doctors and judges. Every presidential candidate has used marijuana at least once in their life. People who are lazy and stay home and smoke weed were going to stay home and do nothing even without marijuana. There is no evidence that marijuana had been the cause of a single crime. Legalizing it in Europe decreased the crime rate after being the highest crime rate in the world. Legalizing alcohol caused by far many more accidents and crimes then it is causing now from marijuana. -What about drug availability? Students in high school and schools claim that they could have access on illegal drugs easier than legal drugs. Because of its current status on the country, its price and availability is unregulated and is on the hands of the growers. Marijuana could fully grow and flower in 2 months - 3 months. It is not hard to grow marijuana. It needs water, air and light just like any other plant. The government spend over 7.7B$ to enforce marijuana prohibition. Legalizing marijuana and taxing it could give the government up to 14B$ in profit. Some police officers know how marijuana is way safer than alcohol and would like to not prosecute criminals possessing marijuana but they don't want to lose their jobs. They just enforce the laws that already exist. There are 786,566 marijuana arrests in 2005 for simple possession. 88% of marijuana arrests are for simple possession. That's almost 1 million people in the USA arrested. either you go in jail or not, your future is destroyed. You don't find a job that will accept you with a criminal record. The government is telling us in other ways that's its okay to rape and murder but your career life will be deeply ruined if you do or smoke illegal drugs. Drug tests: They cost a lot of money. At first they said they are going to test pilots and police officers. Then they said they are going to DT professional athletes. Later on they planned on testing every child on every school. In fact, THC (chemical produced from marijuana) stays on someone's system for up to 20 days (although people nowadays find ways to detoxification in several days) but harder drugs like heroine could leave someone's body in 3 days. That also tells the people to use the hard drugs and avoid soft drugs like marijuana. What about its medical benefits? Pharmaceutical companies are the most profitable industry on the US. What happened if marijuana is legalized? Well they will lose money because people found a lot of treatment coming from a natural plant. Marijuana can slow Alzheimer. It treats glaucoma, back pain, depression, nausea, ADHD, anxiety, help patients with AIDS and cancer and could prevents cancer. There is no a product that provides as many as medical benefits as marijuana. People in some states in US and in Canada could get a medical marijuana card if they have been checked and proven by a doctor that they qualify for a card. That card helps the patient against any arresting for possession of marijuana. Marijuana is one of the most useful, if not the most useful plant known to mankind and it should not be illegal while keeping tobacco and alcohol legal. Would like to see some comments and if that document changed your view about marijuana or not. UPDATE: California and Massachusetts are getting marijuana fully legal soon (2010) for anyone who is 21+ years old!! The law didn't pass yet but officials said it's MOST likely it will pass and will BE LEGALIZED!!!
  4. I'm 113 combat f2p ... 122 mem combat... Make sure that you are arround these levels either by having 122 f2p or mem combat or making it up by withdrawing a summoning potion (if ur 95 f2p and 113 with summoning.. withdrawing a pouch from ur bank makes me kill you as if you are 113 in a member world).. I don't 26k .. :shame: Only 76k. I might even get with u some ep ... I will be always updating my ep in this thread I could accept to have many partners to do with the trick.. I don't mind at all. Post here because I'm not always on runescape. RSN: jackata2 Current EP: 72% RS: Offline
  5. You do drugs ánd try to come up with valid points how RuneScape messes up life? Your logic: Drugs beats RuneScape. Everyone else's common sense: Drugs are bad, they damage your brains, which is evident in your writing. RuneScape doesn't. We win. End of discussion. :wall: I really got no time to even go on the computer... It's summer and I'm active.. I can't stay on a computer more than 5 minutes per day during summer. By the way, I don't 'do' drugs. I smoke em... There is a big difference. I smoke something that other people take it as a medication and not an evil drug that you boys learned at school with all the bs they tell you about it.. Last thing I heard they teach at school now that smoking that 'drug' makes you happy for an hour and depressed for a month... LOL! It doesn't damage your brain but some studies said that it might prevent Alzheimer and prevent cancer. Don't believe me, go do your own researches.. It's a social activity for me and my friends and many other people... Have fun playing rs 24/7!
  6. okay i will read nd reply after cauz i m high right now.. gimme 30 min.
  7. Sports were just an example. There are other non-physical things that people compete with all the time such as boardgames. And who are you to say they feel no reward? I was proud of myself when I got 99 Hunter. Yeah, I know it's nerdy but it still gives you a feeling of accomplishment, much like winning a game of checkers. Competition doesn't only have to be physically rewarding - it can be psychologically rewarding too. Okay. if you think and believe that getting 99 hunter is as rewarding as winning a checkers game in a real tournament, then I guess it's your own personal opinion and I can't punish you for that. But I believe also that telling 'real-life' people around you about an achievement you made in real-life will make you for sure more proud of yourself and is much more rewarding than telling them you managed to catch millions of virtual animals. Again, it's your own opinion...
  8. When physical sports become part of your life and you start comparing it to Runescape, there is a problem. It is a matter of opinion, RS is, in many ways, the same as a sport. The only difference is the exercise...though if you compared it to say, table tennis, then the exercise is about the same. Even the health risks are similar: Heart attack from doing nothing all day Heart attack for over exerting yourself NB: If you spent the 6 or 8 hours a day exercising that the ones likely to die of heart attacks, from playing RS, then you would probably have a heart attack I didn't say exercise 6-8 hours a day. Or did I? Doing anything in moderation is the key. But what is healthier for you: playing 3-4 hours sports and exercising or playing runescape? Yes, keep training your communication skill by talking in the internet with people you never ever met and you will never ever meet. That's the perfect way to improve your communication skill. I wonder also if you are going to ask your girl/boy out by MSN or even worse Runescape... Okay.... Do you think it is worth going to school or work? You are wasting a full year of your year, every year of your life on something that in 100 years isn't going to make a seconds worth of difference. The only purposes in life are those we(and our Deities) give to it. Your purpose this week could be to get 99 Fishing, or it could be to earn £99. Does any of it make any difference to anyone else? I was talking about money making off blogs which someone pointed out lately. And I simply replied that working is by far better than making Runescape blogs for money. We grow up over time. Am I the same person I am when I joined Tip it? No, I am almost completely different! Your time on Runescape helped your to grow up, I mean your whole arguement hinges on your experiance of RS, experiance you would not have if your hadn't played the game!!! Maybe the whole point of those 2 years was to write this, to get my response and to go 'Oh yeah, everything has a point, even if it wasn't the point I was aiming at.' Or maybe you will write a stunning counter arguement and I will go 'Oh yeah, its so clear why I was wrong now.' In the words of Shakespeare 'Even when a sparrow falls there is provenance' hmm... I reiterate: Why? (For the benefit of the reader: I will now include a conversation between myself and an imaginary friend who takes the place of jackata2) But just one question, who allowed you to take a 'friend' and talk for me? And who told you that I want have money just for nothing. I have a lot of things I want to buy and I don't get money just to save it and do nothing with it. Again, who allowed you to talk for me? Didn't get your point right here, but if you want to tell me that RL is the same thing as a VIRTUAL runescape world, then I will leave the reader to go with whoever he/she agrees with.    For the third time, who told you to bring 'someone' to talk for me? I never said hitting someone would prove that anything is real by hitting it. Next... For the forth time. when did "I" tell you to get money to have love?.. Next please... For the 5th time, I NEVER said that. Next... Who said you are being offensive in the first place? If you did then I didn't    WHO TOLD YOU TO TALK FOR ME? WHO SAID I'M NOT GOING TO BE HAPPY FOR HELPING RANDOM PEOPLE I DON'T KNOW? Didn't get your point to be honest. Ok, I really started to laugh at this. Okay, now why do you want me to build one? If I say (supposedly) it's pointless because it's easy to build a pyramid with all machines we have right now. But because Egyptians (my real ancestors by the way) built it using NO machine it is great to see and know what methods the humankind used to build amazing things like this. Yes, it is a better experience than exploring Zanaris. And yet again, I will leave the reader to go with whoever he/she agrees with.    It is a matter of a person's opinion I suppose :   Same here :) PS. Sorry if I sounded offensive/harsh or anything. I didn't mean to and I was trying to have a nice calm debate :)
  9. [/hide] Wow, some frustrationg right there. Perhaps you should take a bucket of chill pills and look at the bright side of life for a change. And who said I didn't look for the bright side of life for a change. Actually, quitting RS is a bright decision I've made in my life for a change. And I don't need chill pills, I'm born to be made chill. What's wrong with competition? Sports are all competitive and about "being the best" too but yet you see nothing wrong with them. I agree that some people can take it to the extreme (not eating or sleeping in order to get xp faster) but competition in general isn't a bad concept at all. So, you are telling me competition in sports is the same thing as competition in RS. So when I hang out with my friends, instead of playing ball, soccer and/or anything, I will tell them: "Hey guys let's get sweaty and play RUNE SCAPE!"... Playing Runescape for competition is just a proof that you as a person try to compete other people or even yourself in a virtual world which you won't feel any kind of reward for yourself after winning the competition. You know what do we call these type of people? Well it starts with an "N" and ends with "D". I didn't say ALL competitive games are bad. But when a game starts to be a part of your life and you compare it to physical sports, there is a problem.
  10. First of all, this post contains my own personal opinion on how Runescape affected me and my relationship with people. Ok, so it's been like 3-4 years now I've been playing this game. I got to admit it it's a really addictive game because people are always trying to be the best. Either if it's just a party hat that you want to afford or get 2376 total or even get 1 skill cape, it still means that it gets your mind fully IN the competitive and challenging atmosphere between other players just to prove you are one of the best. I know many people that play Runescape just to relax and put their mind off of real-life issues. I know other people that take Runescape as a really serious part of their life. I know also other players that claim to play it just to 'test' their patience and ability if they could accomplish a certain level (or just w/e really) and they take it as a challenge. I can't tell you how this game got me closer and in touch with a friend who lives far away from where I'm living and we always talk and stuff. But what we always talk about? Runescape and what are we planning to do together. We always tend to do the same exact thing in RS. I knew this guy for a really long time and I would love to have a chance to meet and chill with him. He is like one of my best friends. But what made us closer to each other? RS and that's the only thing we do and talk about during our conversations. But can we consider a game like RS a way to stay connected to other people but talking only about your plans on it? We all know that Runescape requires a lot of planning. Is it really worth it to consently (sp?).0 being bothered and what are you going to do in the game, especially when you are a member because you don't just to waste your cash and do nothing? You know that people who plays RS or do things related to RS in a weekly basis(2-4 times a week, playing from 3 to 7 hours) waste more than 700 hours just playing Runescape. 700 hours is almost a month just playing Runescape 24/7. Do you think it's worth it accomplishing you goals and wasting 1 full month per year of your life just playing a game with virtual people/money/items on it? Myself, I've played a lot and currently own 65M bank (and have wasted more than 50M on skills/death/range, etc...) and 121 combat. But looking at my account with all the accomplishments I've made, I asked myself, so what now??? From like 2 years ago I spent the WHOLE summer vacation playing Runescape. Now I look back at what I did and ask myself how DID I DO THIS? I was just real waste of time with no point of doing this. Now that I've semi-quitted(the fact I always check Runescape website for news and like to see what's been up with the game just proves I didn't totally quit yet), I've decided that runescape is not the real way for me to 'relax' as some people may say. Regarding people saying RS made them know more about real life economy, HTML and website designing experience and getting money of your blog. Seriously, how long does it take to understand the concept of how the GE is working? Law of supply and demand. Your lesson of economy class form RS is done. It probably takes 5 minutes playing the game to understand that aspect. HTML? Come on, I know creating blogs FORCED to know how to write and code your own pages but how deep will you go? and probably know how to properly copy paste other scripts from other websites... Getting money of your blog?? I would bet you if Zezima creates a blog RIGHT now, in a month he would have 80-100$ MAX from Adsense (That because of his big FAME in this game, so an average player would probably get 20$ a month from his blog). Seriously, find a part job that could hire you to work 5 hours A WEEK and you could make a nice 180$ a month getting paid at 9$/hour. My advice is, if you got spare time and have nothing to do is to play sports, make new friends or even just go chill alone with yourself outside just staring at the beauty of nature. Don't waste your time playing Runescape. Runescape is not just a 'game' really. I believe that the definition of a game is being able to complete and beat the whole game and moving on with your life. Sure you could play this game again just for fun. But when it becomes a game where it has really NO end and it goes on your list and schedule of your daily life, that's not a game anymore. If you want just to sit on the computer, you might even read about science or whatever thing pleases you in your future life. Life is about experience and learning from our mistakes. Runescape is an experience which you will learn fromm it ABSOLUTELY nothing, except that you will know that wasting your time in a game rather than going out or just REALLY relaxing outside, is a complete WASTE of your precious time. It's a really lame excuse saying that RS is a great time killer. Doing something useful for your life in your spare time is way more valuable. RS is in fact a great MIND killer. I think the percentage of getting psychologically addicted to this game is WAY higher than other illegal (psychologically addictive too) drugs. I'm not telling you to go and do drugs, but I'm just trying to show you how RS could be an extreme addiction more than some DRUGs. PS: This is not my first account forum. I always make one and forget it's name/password :(. Sorry, if you got confused or lost of what I wrote but I was 'intoxicated' and feeling deep while writing it. It seemed like it took me forever to write this ...
