RuneScape Information

  1. Happy birthday :D

  2. To be honest, I never meant for an argument to even arise. I have noticed on tonnes of quests that alternative travel methods have been included, and felt that making use of the rings should be added to the guide as I certainly found them very useful.
  3. If you did not have to kill them in a slayer task, that means people would be constantly camping there, thus making the focus sight, hexcrest and SOL go down in price.
  4. Could this not be done? This is a clear example of a way that it could be included. Can you not at least concede that including it in the Tips section is a good idea? :S Extracted from Tip.it guide on The Curse of Arrav.
  5. I think your argument is mediocre, I feel you're simply arguing now, not for the actual matter in hand but in order to not lose face. I am merely suggesting a short sentance in the Tips section offering Fairy rings as an alternative, as the poster before me has just said, it's a beneficial method to those who can use it.
  6. I overlooked that you said "new", despite this, I still feel strongly that the guides as a whole should cater to ALL players, not just new players. Furthermore, I never actually said " It should be said like so" my example was just that, an example. I offer no dispute that it be implemented into the Hints & Tips, in fact I think it's a great idea.
  7. Although you've pointed out a bias, this is not deliberate. Either way, it is closer, so stop pursuing that point. Furthermore, wolves? I didn't notice any, and if I did but missed them, they sure didn't kill or severly damage me enough for me to even notice them. Additionally, you're either forgetting or ignoring my initial point. I said, that it could be used as an ALTERNATIVE, not once have I said that this is the only way that should be said in the guide. For one, something could be said, like this. Along with the suggested items : Lunar/Dramen Staff (Note, this is only available to people who have completed Fairy Tales part 2) To be perfectly honest, even if I personally was unable to use the rings, I'd still have been pleased that the information was there had I been able to use it, and therefore take advantage of it. And finally, your claim that 90% of most players will do this before Fairy Tales part 2 is ridiculous. I'm sure more than 10% of members have done Fairy Tales part 2, you only have to examine how many people have quest capes. Futhermore, I thought tip.it catered to all levels, not just lower levels, or Novice questers who haven't done certain quests. Like I said, it's an alternative option, NOT the only option that the website should suggest.
  8. Despite your consistent belief that there is no reason to teleport to Edgeville, my argument remains the same. I'm suggesting it as an alternative travel method than the one given in the guide, as for the simple reason that it gets you to the destination quicker. However, although I have no timings for this, I'm certain that it is quicker. As, in order to get to the Fairy ring, all one needs to do is teleport to edgeville, make a 20 second run to the fairy ring, and then click the ring, enter the code once in Zanaris and after an instant teleport, you're there. To combat your belief that the carpet drops you right by the pyramid, let me offer this picture to actually prove that the ring is the same distance, if not closer.
  9. When are you ever actually in the desert, all you have to do is to be at the temple and Draynor Village Edit: Although I agree with your argument that the quest is an item heavy one, the claim that due to the desert's somewhat blankness and thus any travelling through it is difficult, I feel does not hold up, as all you must do is run directly West.
  10. This may be true when you go to Varroc, but the rest of the time you remain in the Southern Desert or Al-kharid nowhere near an easy access fairy ring making the eaisest option to head bk to the nearest carpet hub. Yes, but if one has the suggested Amulet of Glory with them, they can simply teleport to Edgeville and use the fairy ring there, which would take no longer than 20 seconds.
  11. On the Missing my Mummy quest you're required to travel to Uzer a few times in order to go to the temple. However, the travel advice given is that of making use of the carpet rides. However, perhaps an alternative is using the fairy rings. Entering D L Q you arrive a not at all far away from the temple, and I think it may be slightly quicker.
  12. Having been an owner of all the godswords at one time or another, I'd have to say that Whip + defender pretty much beats the Godsword in almost every aspect. Other than Bandos at Godwars. Best Godsword of course, for slayer, would be the Saradomin Godsword. I don't know your finances, but it's certainly worth saving for. The special really comes in handy, with a bunyip/unicorn you're looking @ never using food. Godsword's are fun, but I think it'd be better to build armours in your bank, like Bandos/Armadyl/DFS (etc) prior to buying a Godsword for using it at a couple of bosses. Course, just my opinion.
  13. I think before you decide on whether to get your defence up, you should first level up your mage/range to max, or whichever levels your happy with. Test pking on that with 1 def, if you like it keep it, if you don't, don't. Don't make any decisions before you're maxed, because you can get defence anytime, but once you've got it, you can't take it back. Plus, 45 def gets hit a lot too.
  14. Although all 99's do take some time, to me there is a clear division of difficult/easy 99's. In my opinion, i'd rank fletching, along with cooking right at the bottom. The exp per hour and low price really makes them both not 'difficult' in my opinion. The most difficult, to me would be slayer/runecrafting, on t he basis that none of them are buyable, not only is the XP slow, but you have to click almost every other second to get that exp, contrary a semi-afkable skill, like woodcutting or fishing for example. Regarding going for 99 everything, I don't think you should be doing it the way you are, i.e "grinding out the worst ones first." Play the game as you want to play it, get the skills you enjoy first. Afterall, you could get hacked/banned/quit, never getting round to doing anything you want to.
