  1. mostly mis-informed.

    Although we primarily exist to teach people in the cc, there's a few things that have to be considered;

    1. Some of us need to do our high warped floors, these require 110+ dungeoneering.

    2. Helping low levels reach chaotics/frost dragons is against our mission statement.

    3. After teaching new people how to dungeoneer for multiple floors, it can get very frusturating when people don't want to listen to us. I can usually only handle one abandoned floor with people ignoring me before I need to do a few warped floors with people I know.

  2. I took berserker from Xpx when he died 3 times (more prayer)

And I didn't die that floor. GET UNDER ME.

Honestly, losing a title means [cabbage] all when someone else dies more than twice. The extra dps is non-trivial. I noticed when tui was trying to get it's too easy she was maging random [cabbage] in non gds...It's getting to the point where titles are there because people are focusing on them instead of the dungeon, lol

I still get sharp most though@

For anyone that didn't know lololol. Basically *everyone* thought that desperado worked with Hexhunter bow and now they found out that the tedious ring switching they did was for nothing. I'm so glad I got that bow yesterday and not months ago L. Once again uber trolled by the Jamflex corporation.

    Dgs knew.

Sorry I forgot that you people are the undisputable Gods of the Dungeoneering skill.

Nah it's just that 3bo and all the other idiots that are ignorant didn't listen to us when we found out desperado doesn't work with hex.

"Desperado doesn't work with hex, we've done lots of tests an-"

    "Yes it does L"

  4. Idk why people keep mentioning drumgun when he's not even going for 200m all skills. He's got more time to go than everyone in the top 10 because of his extremely low slayer, and he isn't really a contender at this point even if he chooses to do slayer now for some reason.

  5. Unless there has been some miscommunication, it was our understanding that a Help & Advice subforum here was wanted :) If this is incorrect we are open to changing our approach.

No, this was wanted. As far as I know Grimy and Rocked requested it, and I can't see there being any problem with it unless one is absoluted.

  6. We would like to further the stance of those leaving stance on this matter.

There has been a lot of trolling that has occured on our behalf.

The first note is the bladewing memorial.

This was incited by Green, who was not a part of the negotiations between the admins and those leaving.

However, Jimmy Jim immediately locked the thread, and changed the title of several blogs in reaction.

Furthermore, the Admins began accusing us of protesting against them even though Green did not even know there were negotiations going on in private.

We personally took this a bad way. We're in the middle of negotiations and the administrators immediately start accusing us for that we did not start.

You make us sound like this big united efficiency community. It's really really really hard to keep tabs on everybody at the same time.

But we continued negotiating in spite of the blogscape event.

But eventually the admins lost interest and nobody spoke on the private discussion for several days. We were rather impatient that the Admins simply did not care enough to contribute further to the discussion.

Ultimately our patience broke when xpx and ancient were banned for unjust reasons. Things spiralled out of control. We decided to leave, and we informed VERY EXPLICITLY to everybody we could contact in time, to avoid trolling. The requests to stop trolling are still up in both our Skype logs and in our new forum.

BUT we can't contact everybody at once. And ultimately Levon ended up spamming porn over the boards, but was lectured about it after the fact. Our party has no interest in needless flaming. But considering the grievances, and our limited ability to micromanage every last individual that supports us, it was ultimately inevitable.

We would like to ask anybody else that supports those leaving TIF to do so with discretion. Flaming and trolling will do neither part any good in this scenario.

  7. Offensively speaking, sagi body has 25 more ranged attack in exchange for 21 less melee attack and 11 less melee strength, and 40 less hp drain to everything around you per 15 seconds. The blood necklace slot is also irreplacable, whereas most players can make themselves a megaleather body that's only 6 ranged attack inferior to sagittarian.

Binding a sag body over a blood necklace is a bad idea for anyone, IMO.

As you probably already know, a loss of 10 (not 21, taking of sagi body is NOT a lot of work considering we turm flash) accuracy is not very significant for melee dps, especially with a primal 2h. The melee strength and 40 hp drain is obviously something to consider, but sagitarrian body offers incredible defense; allowing you to tank mage or range attacks much better than without an armor bind, which is obviously helpful. Making leather bodies is generally very time consuming because you need to hunt at least 2 dinos without using any hides, and chaps ar emuch more practical.

I'd say for anyone who does a decent amount of keying and is a hood-trick sucking and always-mage-praying noob, sagitarrian body would be better. Blood neck is superior for dpsing, obviously. If I ran into a blood neck with 4 binds though, I'd give it to someone who'd make more use out of it since I tend to key quite a bit.

So if hex doesn't get damage bonus from rigour or desperado, what about ranged pots and the type of arrows you use?

Novite arrows are very cheap and apparently amount of ammo is a bit of an issue, so I was wondering if these work the same as sag arrows with hex.

Also, novite arrows would theoretically have the same accuracy since I don't think ranged strength affects accuracy at all, right?

Desperado, rigour, and ranged pots all give it an accuracy bonus though, right? Just the damage bonus doesn't stack?

(So sniper & soul split are better)

Also what's this about desperado working on bosses? Did you mean "hex does not receive the damage bonus from desperado but the accuracy bonus matters more on bosses because they have high defense"?

Novite arrows max @ 113. The accuracy is the same.

Desperado only works on bosses. Most bosses that are hexed have low defense anyways, and are ragered on top of that. Rigour only works on bosses; same rules apply. The accuracy bonuses aren't too significant. Ranged pots give a hefty increase of damage and accuracy though. Ranged pots + Rigour/Ranged Leech + Desperado ALL stack ; You can hit above 550 in the right circumstances agasint bosses.

(Yes sniper/ss are better, especially if you're like me and ss flick and preserve prayer a lot)

Any bow hits 188 with sagitarrian arrows as it's normal max hit.

Desperado increases this by 20%, bringing it up to 225/226 as it's max.

Magic levels are THOUGHT to give ranged levels to a hex user (As Grimy, others and I have concluded) which is why you hit 338 on forgotten mages.

If you were on desperado, the 20% damage increase would only apply to the initial max (188-->225 + Magic level boosts rather than 188+ Magic level boosts +20%)

But for some reason, the 20% gets applies AFTER adding magic levels on bosses. We don't know why. That's why desperado is only better on bosses.

  8. Arma is too luck based to give a stable gp/hour, it's like 2m tops lol.

Speaking gp/time wise, it's obviously not worth it compared to frost dragons. Arma gwds is a fun alternative for making money though.

  9. I don't look down on them... I just think nothing of them.

yeah. if youre desperate enough for any 99 that you get cook/fletch/etc as your first, i dont see that as an achievement. :|

    Errr.... why?

Fletching takes aggeees, it was my first 99. Don't see how it's any less of an 'achievment'.

I think cooking capes look boss aswell

Er, I don't think 13 hours at a moderate price or 30 hours profiting is "agessss"

For people saying a 99 is a 99, you obviously have no experience with the max exp rates of skills. Fletching is, without exagerattion, 20X faster than slayer.

  10. just asking here because i know how awesome you guys are

I am about to get tier 9 berserker and starting to think about which ranger class to upgrade. Is sniper better than desperado? and does long or short bow matter?

Bows are worthless outside of Hex Hunter. And most people agree Desperado (rapid) is best for Hex.

    Times are changin', Lee. ;)

SNIPER is actually best for ranged users (of which there should only be hex users). It has better DPS overall while allowing for 1) more strategic hexing and 2) ammo conservation, which is actually a problem for hexers.

Desperado is a little better than sniper on bosses only, but not enough to really justify taking the time to switch. Furthermore, you get better returns per tier with sniper than with desperado (ie, your desperado ring would have to be much higher tiered than your sniper ring to justify using it).

no desperado is 1.6/1.5x more damage than sniper

and ammo shouldn't be a problem because it takes 10 seconds to log out and back in

    Downs.

  11. Sagi Body + Chaps

53 Ranged Attack (equals 97 overall)

    153 Crush

    115 Slash

    136 Stab

    162 Magic

    Sagi body + Primal Platelegs

    24 Ranged Attack (68 overall)

    188 Crush

    234 Slash

    269 stab

    96 Magic

I don't think it's worth it to sacrifice 66 mage defense and 31 mage defense for 100 more in melee defenses, personally. Consider the hexhunter's low accuracy.

  12. Edit : On the ghost/shade debates, If you have enough ranged attack (100 or so) hex becomes the optimal weapon for skeleton mages, ghosts and shades as well. Hex is probably better than a 2h with around 80 accuracy or so, but ghosts don't take much damage unless you have 110+ ranged attack.

In other words its almost never better

Well you can losslessly make range armor and making chaps +boots/vambs is relatively easy. If you have a sagi body bound, you start with 77 range attack and with chaps + vams/boots you can easily exceed 110 range attack.

  13. Sagitarrian body is undisputably better than a Primal Plate if you have a hex, and disputably better if you don't have one.

Many of you overestimate the power of magic drastically. 100 magic defense will make the strongest mages have 30% accuracy or so, which means that you can simply pray range in gds and take much less damage overall. The only reason plate can be better for keying is that forgotten mages, and ONLY forgotten mages can bind you. If there's not a forgotten mage in the room, range pray is better in 80% of all situations. Melee defense is largely irelevant since most melee monsters shouldn't get the chance to hit you, and those who do will only get one in.

Binding a primal plate with a hex is honestly incredibly stupid. It makes an already inaccurate weapon more inaccurate >_>

Oh, and the -10 melee from sagi body only decreases dps by like 1% from a 2h.

  14. The only other bind I have considered is a blood necklace for Melee offense as well, but the chances of finding one before I reach 120 are sort of slim :P

At the rate people have been getting them lately? ;)

Would you consider the Blood necklace worth binding over a sage body in your case?

Heh, we've been getting pretty lucky haven't we

Anyways, I'm not sure if purely offensive binds are even worth it for a few reasons.

For hexhunters, range armor has an incredible bonus and 75% more accuracy allows hex to hit skeleton mages, ghosts etc. The extra armor also allows you to tank all single mage monsters which means you can conserve prayer and ultimately use turmoil/leeches more often.

For non hexhunters, having enough armor means that instead of flicking turmoil, you can simply keep turmoil activated in place of a protection prayer. In my case however, I think I'll go with a sagitarrian body regardless because A. I'm a ranked keyer in dgs and B. Melee is already well covered in most teams.

  15. Having a Hexhunter bow to myself changed my potential binds a bit.

    Currently I have :

    Prom 2h

    Hood

    Hexhunter

Sagitarrian body increases my ranged attack by 75%, which is incredible. Sagi body also has amazing defense and allows you to tank mages quite easily.

The only other bind I have considered is a blood necklace for Melee offense as well, but the chances of finding one before I reach 120 are sort of slim :P
