And guys cared more about boobs than exp/hour or exp/gp ratios.

Remember when Runescape wasn't about forcing group play on to people and the only thing you needed help with was Shield of Arrav? Those were the days.

I'm happy to see that Jagex is finally putting their foot down on this issue.
It's too bad we can't mow down all those bots with an M2 Browning machine gun. :P
If that were possible, i'd be the first in line to apply for being your ammo carrier :P
What we need is not 1 M2 Browning, we gotta sweep the whole world with a friggin flamethrower-equiped division
OT: In my humble opinion, I still think they should remove Free trade asap, they've clearly proven nable to stop the bots, which they promised they would
It would not only effectively stop the bots, but it's also a good protection against scammers

"Don't worry about the bots. I'm on it!"

At this point, I think Jagex defnitely have the capacity to detect bots but are deliberately not doing anything with them.
When they did the rollbacks, there was literally panic all over the botting forums and RSOF and the numbers were HUGE compared to how many are banned now.
They detect 23,000 bots this month - that's not great considering there are pereneially 40,000-60,000 bots online but that's a good number anyways.
But here's the thing, they DETECT them but then do next to nothing about them. And then lie to our faces about how much they're doing. Pretty despicable corporate tactics that I would not expect from Jagex.
Nice pic, Bangin_Blonde.
Probably due to them selling out to the US..
And when you sold out to the US the only thing that matters is money, money money.
In the US no one cares about ethics anymore.
I care about ethics. I care how much I can get for forsaking them. :D

Pay a Chinese person to stop botting for a day and to train your Dung.

Thank you.

Yes, it'll be awful. I'm think something worse than Gigli, but slightly better than Ishtar.

People are complaining about a part of the Holiday event being P2P. I personally don't care about a cosmetic reward, but it is another little check in the "Jagex is only about money now" column. Just my opinion.

I personally think the second article was an attempt to polish a Jagex turd.
I personally think that the Clan Camp was a solid update and you're jumping on a very old bandwagon that's falling apart. It did exactly what it was meant to do, bringing clans into a cohesive and standardised system. It saves everyone who want to make a clan a lot of time.
I'm not jumping on. I've been on this bandwagon. Hell I helped build it.

I imagine the level 3 has to be a dead giveaway, but alas, I'm just a poor young girl who can recognize a bot and Jagex is full of people who cannot... or won't.
this thread makes the same argument over and over and over. YES, we understand that any human eye can catch and tell who is a bot and who isn't, but Jagex cant have people watching every server, and every high botting area all the time. it is simply impossible. they rely on computer detection. Here in itself is another problem, you cant just ban anyone for doing repetitive bot-like actions, because thats what the game is! repetitive actions, and some players are great are matching the same keystrokes or mouse swipes in the same time, its called muscle memory. Jagex has to come up with something that can ban bots without banning real players while at the same time making it general enought to cover the entire game. all of this while botting sites are just getting more advanced.
in total: stop saying you can catch bots so why cant jagex. it is the most idiotic argument that you can possibly make!
I think most of us are upset because of Jagex blowing smoke up our ass about their ultra new bot detection and when the bots come back, they are completely unable to deal with it so they just stop bothering.
I think this is their new bot detection system they were talking about.

Well, one main issue here is the various Mods and Admins who act a little more than necessary. Throwing out the baby with the bathwater and all that.
-
I take it you mean how the clan camp is only used by players to get their fancy new capes and not really intending to make a clan. How, out of all those 33,000+ or so clans that have been made, there are probably less than a thousand you could consider actual clans. It may look as if Jagex is forcing player interaction, no?
No, it may not look that way. It is that way. More and more group oriented combat trying to be more WoW-like. I really don't like it.

No, they just both say the other side is incorrect, lol.
Both sides have admitted to making mistakes.
I know. Both sides were a bit... overzealous in defending their positions.
-
The trouble is you can't pick a side without being totally bias.
Both side sees the other as the brash/immature/annoying users.
I don't think you can say, however, that either side is correct in their view; just opposing viewpoints (which both have merits and flaws to them) and, for some at least, an unwillingness to live and let live as it were.
No, they just both say the other side is incorrect, lol.
Yeah, give them their own subforum. Maybe we can also give them their own bathroom, drinking fountains, seperate doors, etc. It'll be awesome.
No, but honestly, I'm amazed this even became an issue. Whoever didn't see the validity of their argument for a subforum and recognize the amount of people it would benefit must have some serious blinders on.

Unfortunately, you don't have any admins or any serious mods who do the efficiency thing so they don't think it's needed. No one is really gonna back you up on it. Sorry. I personally think it's as important a demographic as those damnable clans so you should get one, but you're not.
We're already talking with admins about this right now.
Good to know. Like I said, I don't do the efficiency and I'd rather it get it's own place so I don't have to browse through it.
And Vulx, I think they wanted their own subforum under General Discussion if I'm not mistaken.

Frankly, I think some people need to unclench themselves a little bit. It's a forum, about an online game, run by a Volunteer team. Take it easy. Let's all remember, gaming isn't the biggest thing in our lives. It is, or at least should be, sex.

Now THAT would be a boss worth fighting. I'd be very interested in something like that. That's a good suggestion. :D
It is, isn't it? Can't wait for it to be ignored and something dreadful done instead.

So if Jagex can change the code for Aubury with an update to screw up the bots, isn't it possible to write a code that makes his number change randomly every day or so? I don't know coding so no clue how difficult, or even possible, that would be.
-
I'm guessing they'll pump up whoever wins, give them a new boss sequence and you have to fight tham as a.... clan!
Clan! Clan clan clan, more clans, more clans.
Probably not, but I wouldn't be shocked.
So you mean that these four choices would instead be a new boss hunting room?
Badass.
Could be, could be. I just hope they use some of the Dung code to calculate the levels and how many players to fight it to figure out the boss level. That way people can solo it too.

While I personally find efficiency playing to be duller than an old, rusty knife, I understand their is a huge appeal for it these days. I'd very much like for them to have had their own forum because that way I can avoid it. Just not my deal.
Watching this I do feel that a number of loyal members were treated rather shabbily by the higher ups in this place and that makes me feel rather nervous. If the honest and good people are going to be treated like crap, how is a sarcastic and annoying poster like me going to be treated?
Are many of the mods and admins out of touch? Probably. Not as bad as Jagex mods at least.

Or they change some grammar in the subtitles and for some reason the Corp beast turns into a fluffy kitten.
