  1. And is about to get run over on the Slayer highscores by that huge bulldozer known as S U O M I... Wyvernrider4 better watch his back lol Haha, Wyvernrider4 will get rank 4 for sure unless I get like 100 effigies a day which is very unlikely. I have had very bad luck with effigies lately, took like 80 hours to get those 22 effigies I used yesterday. Didn't get them just yesterday. Wyvernrider4 deserves rank 4 more than me anyways, he has been working on slayer for years. Effigies were released on June 15, 2010 and Wyvernrider4 started slaying since that day so he's been going straight for 200m (starting from 40m) for about year. In contrast SUOMI only started slaying in late February which makes his progress even more impressive. Here is how it breaks down: Wyvernrider4's average daily slayer experience: ~395,406 SUOMI's average daily slayer experience: ~921,775 Wyvernrider4 should reach 200m slayer in about 57 days at which time SUOMI should be at ~178.8m slayer experience. It would take SUOMI another 23 days or so to reach 200m (i.e. 80 days from today). What's even more impressive is in the end it would take wyvernrider4 around 433 days to get 160m slayer xp whereas SUOMI took around 202 days to get around 187m slayer xp. So Wyvernrider4 should get rank 4 and SUOMI rank 5, but as people have said it would be cooler to get rank 6 as you have so many rank 6s and 7s. That is pretty cool
  2. it might appear that drumgun's xp gains are slow(er), but since he is maxed combat he may be doing tormented demons, soul wars, god wars, who knows, and so we may not know about it
  3. Elias should just finish off construction and by doing so he could take the overall xp monthly record which would be quite impressive. If he does want to be the first to 3B xp doing smithing or hunter next would be the best options. Other possibilities are chinning or bursting rock lobs but those would just be a waste when he goes back to slayer. I think telmo has gone back to slayer and if I were him I'd slay till 2.9B and then finish off herb to get to 3B (if telmo wants to beat elias to 3B). If I were elias though I'd just go back to slayer as well as I think elias could keep pace with telmo and then if telmo decided to do herb elias has con and hunter to close the gap again. The race to 3B and between these two will be interesting to watch.
  4. What I find amazing is that in just over 4 months SUOMI has gained just over 100m slayer xp for only just under 150m str xp. It really shows the effect of effigies.
  5. Drumgun's recent spike in fletching xp seems to indicate he wants to maintain his 'first to' 8, 9, 10 200ms so I think he will be the victor in the race to 10 200m skills. He probably should then do: 1m thieving xp a day, 1m dungeoneering xp a day, and then alternate between spending the remainder of the day doing woodcutting and fishing. That way by the end of the year he'll have another 3, and probably 4, 200ms allowing him to take his tally to 14 200ms
  6. You did a xhelchildx: But I guess it works. It really is the best way to let go. You haven't wasted the past 4 years of your life. I do hear that a lot when people quit; they always think that they could've spent that time doing something else. While that may be true, it is complete hindsight, and like all retrospective decisions you regret the choice you made. Looking back on it you realize that you could've chosen other things to do, and even though you might've picked a very good choice, you feel disappointed with the result because with so many other possible choices you feel that at least one of them had to be better. You could've spent the past 4 years doing X or Y, but would you've spent every minute you played runescape doing X or Y? Probably not; and even if so then so be it. The truth is that there's no shame in attempting something and like Allar said, you learn from the choices you make even if you regret them. I wish you the best of luck and hopefully you continue to post on here every once in a while.
  7. Telmo should finish off prayer after hunter. That way he'd be rank 1 on hiscores and in terms of overall xp, and also have the most 200ms. Gertjaars was the last person to hold those 3 ranks? Then he could just go back to slayer and just maintain his lead
  8. Don't really know much about dungeoneering so correct me if I'm wrong, but with a really good team it would be 2-3 dungeons per hour which would be (at 1m per dungeon) 2-3m per hour. When you said "1 to 2m per dungeon" I assume this is split between the players (i.e. 250k ea) as 1m each would just be insanely gracious". What is the xp/hr for dungoneering? 250k xp/hr? If so then thats 2-3m spent per 250k xp which means 200m would cost 1.5-2.2B. At 2m per dungeon that'd be 3-4.5B. Even at 200k (and not 250k) it would be 1.9-2.8B to 200m at 1m per dungeon. 1m per dungeon isn't too bad of a price for a 200m. I guess dungeoneering really is a skill (and no longer minigame) as it can be buyable :P And lets not forget your team mates would make 100s of m for getting 200m. I'd really like to see you do this Yeah of course thought about that but I think I might prepare for new skills instead, 200M in all skills is a never ending goal unless they decide to stop making new skills and never know when runescape is going to end. Also thought about getting 200M in all skills in rsc but still long road to go. I hope that was sarcasm because getting 200m in all skills is hard enough, but doing it twice over is just crazy. Doing it on classic is even crazier. If anyone could do it, it would be you, but the supply just isnt there. You'd have to be completely self sufficient meaning skills like prayer, herblaw and crafting would take literally ages.
  9. It doesn't matter the xp/h because you will NOT waste time training those skills. It's stupid turning a infinite xp rate in 1000k (where you got the 1000k btw?). You're misusing the word infinite. Obviously an infinite xp/hr would result in the hours required going to 0, but its not infinite; it's just not applicable. You have a point when you say that you can do fletching while doing other skills, but in reality I'd venture to guess that those who get 200m fletching spend most of that time solely fletching rather than combining it with other skills. This reasoning isn't unfounded, for example, just look at the fletching records; and therefore xp/hr is applicable because hours are being spent. Very few, if any, would train always at that absolute max; or even that absolute highest average. You're gonna go up and down and the spreadsheet is just an average. And its better to overestimate than to underestimate.
  10. I think people read into the donations too much. It doesnt matter if the player asks for donations, or people willingly donate out of kindness; either way its their money, they made the choice, they can do what ever they want with it. The point is though that going for 200m xp in all skills is the biggest goal in runescape. It shouldnt be taken on lightly, and anyone who does aspire to attain it, either vaguely or definitely has it in mind, knows that it not only requires time, dedication, and patience, but also money. Before free trade came back, perhaps even now still, merchanting made a lot of money, but at what price. You manipulate the item, the market, other people may suffer. Where as with donations, no problem there. And because it is such a big goal, many people know that they would never get it. They know there's no point aiming for it because they don't have the time, money, patience; what ever it is that is needed and they lack. I give credit to SUOMI for evening starting to go for all 200ms even when he didnt have a lot of money; perhaps that is why he started with fishing, agility, etc. But the point is that, because people know they cant get 200m in all skills, donating allows them to live vicariously. Your donation helps that player (whoever he or she is) to get to where they are now. Without that donation that player would not be where they are now. You are in part responsible and a part of that progress. Don't take anything away from the player, they put the time in, had the patience, dedication, but its a win win situation and thats the best outcome.
  11. Prayer yes, an easy 92m to finish off, but no point doing herb. In the future its more than likely some new high level potion will be released. Not necessarily better than overloads, or another potion in what ever respect, just better in the sense that its useful for what ever its application may be. And when that happens having 200m herb xp would mean that both making and buying would be a waste of cash and loss of xp. Assuming of course that it would be a viable herb training method (not unreasonable of course as it would be a high level potion). Hence 200m herblore would be best kept till after slayer or even combat is done. In the long run just sticking with slayer for now to max combat is the best choice. 3.5 before 2012 is about 9 and a half months to get about 1.07B xp. About 112m xp per month. I think telmo averages a bit more than that, but whether it can be sustained for the rest of the year is the main question. At his pace though he'd be done with slayer in 8 months which is quite remarkable.
  12. Just wanted to post this due to the recent posts of all rounders. Highest xp with no 200ms: Cynder76 Highest xp with 1 200m: Dapledo. Just over took Lowlander50 this weekend Highest xp with 2 200m: Kingduffy Lowlander50 held the previous record of highest overall xp without any 200ms at 1,374,937,868, so Cynder76 is like 500k behind that and is gonna take it. I wonder how high he/she can take. It would be amazing to see players with 2 even 3B+ xp without any 200ms. Would really show them as all rounders and major contenders. Dapledo, Lowlander50, Kingduffy I think are like this. They're taking it as a marathon and not a sprint.
  13. Agreed, Jd seems to want to keep his distance from Drumgun for the time being though. Actually Jd claims to not care at all lol From a tracker's point of view, this is exactly what I would tell from watching him. Ever since last summer started, he has been keeping the same pace and has not rushed any skills even when he decided to max out. He's not distancing himself from Drumgun, it's the other way around. I must say I really like the quality of discussion we have enjoyed these last 2-3 days. Keep it coming guys! It could also be that he too dislikes dungeoneering and mixes it up with other skills or he's training those other skills at a slower pace to make it more even with farming. I think he's going for 4 200ms this time (as he did with 2 and 3) so it should be dungeoneering, farming, thieving, fourth one probably defence.
  14. Drumgun got his record by cashing in zeal which is much faster than opening effigies; hence chilly would have less time to do summoning. Not to mention the fact that both players probably have very different playing styles (i.e. chilly probably doesn't play as long or as intense, etc). So I'd say drumgun's day, week, and month records are safe. In regards to chilly's charms, I did some calculations and took into account the xp from opening effigies as well, and he'd only get around 105m summoning xp or so from them. Hence he'd be anywhere between 160-170m summoning xp. The remanining 30m I guess he could get from bursting lobs as he still has mage to max. Although, chilly may have zeal saved up, or other cash ins of that sort, so we'll just have to wait and see.
  15. Less. He's consistently doing 30m months so I'd say 3-4 weeks. Although since he has rank 2 set (based on what chilly wrote on his youtube video) he may decide to use the effigies on another skill (instead of slayer). This in turn would allow him to max str with slayer (rather than have to afk after which he may not want to do). If he therefore decides to use the lamps on another skill then perhaps a month and a half. Not to mention the fact that he may slow down now that he does have rank 2 and may only have set that pace because of reaching this point. We'll have to wait and see what he does. If it were me I'd use the lamps on another skill. 30m months is just crazy though. That's 6-7 months to get 200m slayer. Took me 8 months just to get from 73-99 (although 73-91 was before that update with points/cancelling and all that). But still, that's ridiculous.
  16. And 100m fishing :P, beast. Farming completed as well. He is very well rounded and his highest xps are in the slowest skills and not in the buyables. This, i think, makes him a major competitor; although i don't know if it is his aim to get 200m xp in all skills. Some may argue, however, as they have done on this thread, that the various skills that he has trained (i.e. the slow ones like rc, agility, fishing) are the ones most likely to become faster with future updates and so he is wasting his time, but I would argue, also as people have done on this thread when referring to suomi, that if you can do the slow skills then the faster ones should be no problem. He may also just be bidding his time as he cant afford buyables at the moment. Either way, as i said, i think he is one to keep an eye on as well.
  17. Would be cool if you could get 200m prayer, woodcutting and fletching at the same time. Be the first to 3 200m skills on the same day and add another achievement to your many accolades. actually jdelacroix did this, didnt he? powerbury through slayer in a week please :D I think you may be right. I remember him doing 2, I guess I forgot about the 3. And the way he's training now it looks like he's going to do 4 next
  18. Would be cool if you could get 200m prayer, woodcutting and fletching at the same time. Be the first to 3 200m skills on the same day and add another achievement to your many accolades.
  19. Very presumptuous. At university free time is governed more by what degree you're undertaking, which university you're at and where it is rather than how well you utilize your time , and how organized and time conscientious you are. For example, an engineering degree would take up more time and be more demanding than a business degree. So too would a 3 year degree rather than its 4 year counterpart. I acknowledge that you mentioned in your experience, but there are different high school programs. One could do a high school diploma or equivalency or A levels or IB, etc etc. As above posters have said, in high school the day ends at 3, you can do most of the work while afking, and going to bed at 9, 10, or 11 is still good. At university and even during a career such a schedule could not be kept. When it comes to the top players in experience I guess what they've achieved is due to: (1) either they don't go to school or work or (2) if they do go to school then its a relatively (key word) easy program or (3) if they work then they have a job which allows them to play on the job or not require them to bring their work home with them.
  20. I'd like to see him use whatever effigies he has right now on the 23rd or 24th to boost that monthly slayer record even higher. He'd definitely be able to get however many effigies he'd use to do this again, as he continues to 200m slayer, so getting that monthly record to 40m+ would be amazing considering he has the ability to do so.
  21. I'm not too sure about that. Agility is pretty click intensive as well. You were doing that at the Nature Altar right? Zmi is considerably faster. You can already get 65k/h on your own there. So runners could potentially bump it up to about ~80k/hour. Going by the same increase as you had over Grhaaking nature runes, which is around 30k/h I think. Agility on the barb extended course is only 8 clicks and since there are certain angles which results in you not having to rotate the screen it results in agility being very laid back. I averaged 63k xp/hr on the barb extended course while watching movies which made 99 so much easier. For fishing if you decide to do rocktails that is very simple, quite afkable. If you decide to do barb it is repetitive and centred around a very small area and the hand movements become second nature. I got my 99 fishing before living rock caverns and before the cake/purple sweets thing was discovered, but i averaged 58k xp/hr doing barb while watching movies. To get your stated 65k xp/hr in rc is no doubt possible, but to be consistent over an extended period would be, I think, very hard. Let's say from 99 to 200m xp one did rc, agility or fishing straight. There maybe certain periods over millions or tens of millions of xp where rc would have a higher xp/hr but overall I think it would be lower. Not by a lot, but considering it does require more effort, concentration, etc it, to me, is the obvious choice when it comes to effigies. For rc, yea 65k xp/hr is possible now, but when I did the 40-45k xp/hr from running was on par with zmi as the features which result in that xp/hr were either not present or not known (i.e. deposit all or mouse keys). As for the zmi running: I too would be amazed if that took off. I'm sure rcers would keep the good runes and drop the others, but that still leaves a lot of other runes to drop. It would therefore become a trade off between profit and xp until the optimum inventory space to essence traded is found. Crafters may have to accept maybe 20 essence per trade which would offset zmi's advantage over the other altars; mainly nature as it is the most mainstream one and will continue to be so I think. One idea for zmi running would be a sort of gamble from the runners' perspective. The runner would give the crafter lets say 26 essence (fluctuates due to teleporting and banking method) and in return would receive all the runes from the previous runners' essence (i.e. what the crafter just crafted). Hence pouches would not be allowed as the next runner would receive fewer runes when providing more essence. This would be faster than giving essence back, or paying in cash, or keeping some runes and dropping others. The problem is however that it is biased towards the crafter in that the crafter neither loses nor gains any money. The runners however are at a disadvantage as players can be dishonest (and no doubt there always will be some). High rc levels result in a profit at zmi, and although the runner doesnt know what they're going to get they can expect a profit compared to cost of the pure essence they provided. I'm sure there is a level where you stop losing money and start making money from zmi and I'm sure there would be crafters who'd try to dupe runners by giving them back runes worth less than the essence they received because their rc level is not sufficient to create a profit.
  22. real shame he couldnt have done just 10 more effigys to get the rc 1 day record, or 30 more for the week Yea, was running out of bank space. Really had to use them. and I dont think Runecrafting will be more than 60k/h even with free trade out. so thats why I used them of Runecrafting instead of agility or even slayer. Edit: I used 134 Effigys :-P I got my 99 rc in 2007 before free trade was taken away and I did it at ffdn world 36. My average was 40-45k xp/hr, but at peak times it was closer to 50. It really depends on the quality of the runners and whether or not you accept pouches because pouches really slow you down. 60k xp/hr would be the highest average, but I think 50-55k would be more realistic. The max would depend as I said on the quality and consistency of the runners. 10 second runners would be hard to find and over an extended period of time especially towards 200m rc xp, I'm guessing closer to 15 seconds would be the average. Nonetheless, I think it would definitely be easier to average a higher xp/hr in agility and even fishing than in rc, so rc was the better choice. Not to mention you can afk the formers and rc definitely requires the most concentration, clicking, etc out of those three.
  23. People state how advantageous it is to train slayer early on to maximize the gains from the effigies, but the major gains come from not just slaying efficiently, but also over lengthy periods of time. Players like telmomarques and suomi have a competitive edge due to them playing significantly more than their competition and can thus take advantage of the multiple skills that slayer trains simultaneosuly. I just saw that telmomarques has posted here so I apologize in advance for using you/him as an example, but it is a very good one. If he continues at the pace of 15-16m slayer xp per month, he'd reach 200m slayer in 10 months. Assuming he also gets 200m attack, defence, strength, and constitution in the process; as well as, if not close to, 200m range and summoning, it accumulates to 1B xp gained (including the slayer and subtracting his current xp in those skills). This does not even take into account any magic xp, farming xp and herblore xp which could be gained over the period spent slaying as well the xp from the effigies (both opening them up and using the lamps). Not to mention the remaining 94m xp in prayer which could be completed in a number of days. Taking everything into consideration would result in 1.3-1.4B xp gained in a 12 month period. That is significantly higher, if not nearly double the average xp/year of the top 100 (by overall xp) players; which I'd venture to guess is 600-700m xp/year? It's a trivial example, but it just goes to show how advantageous it is to go for 200m slayer early on if 200m in all skills is your goal.
  24. I think people are getting carried away with certain players' current, recent, and/or previous progress in envisioning who could obtain that coveted 200m xp in all skills. There's no doubt that players like Skiller and Zarfot are peoples' favorites because they are/were out in the lead and are/were very efficient; and of course other players like SUOMI and Drumgun are also on peoples' list because of their more recent impressive gains. Even when Gertjaars was number 1 or Zezima before him, people thought they could do it too; although what 'it' was, I think, was not even known. Before Neo got the first 200m xp in a skill (Fletching), or even Herbaman before him being the first to 100m xp (Thieving), the notion of 200m xp in a skill was not perceived impossible, but rather not even perceived at all. This being due to, I think, the limitations of the game not being realized as well as, and perhaps more importantly, the sheer amount of time required to obtain such a vast amount of XP. Back then, and I refer to pre 2006, 200m xp was considered a massive amount of xp and a major undertaking, but since then, and especially nowadays, 200m xp doesn't have any real meaning anymore - much like having a 99 has lost its status. 200m is seen as something to do after obtaining 99 and many people do go for it. It's been 10 years and there's not even a player half way there. Skiller is 49% "done", but its taken him around 4 and a bit years to get there. If you envision him going for that 5B xp and doing a negative split due to xp/hr increasing in the future then it could be under 4, maybe even closer to 3 years to reach it. That is still a major commitment. I personally think that one day, definitely far into the future, 200m xp in all skills will be obtained but the main question is by whom? It is my contention that the first person to reach 200m xp in all skills is not even on anyone's radar right now. I personally think that none of the current top 15 will be the first or even ever get it - despite a number of them stating that it is their intention to do so. Players might burnout, they might realize other things are more important, or future updates may dissuade them from continuing further. This is a marathon and not a sprint.
  25. when you said 'you'll use a bit of zeal on ranged' is this to ensure top 22? (as you did with strength). If it is so, as i do hope, then that'd be awesome. Prayer you'd definitely get top 22 since that skill will take a while to fill up 22 200ms, but then to have the first 7 skills all at 200m is something to marvel at; but having them all top 22 as well is an even more extraordinary feat in my opinion. Thing is though it could be tight. Rank 2 slay will definitely make sure he gets his spot (as he did with strength) . Bryce i think is training it slowly with slayer but he might race for it if he gets passed and Aa Snake may train more feverishly if he sees his spot in jeopardy. I hope you do get a top 22 spot though, good luck! BTW: I remember when you were at 111,111,111 xp in attack, cooking and hunter (or roughly so). Seems so long ago. I only bring this up because we actually met in game once about a year and a half ago - you were woodcutting in tai bwano and banking the mahogs - and I, in passing, pointed this out. Disregard my display name should you wish to recollect this incident as it is not my username - it is merely a hint. I quit 6 months ago, just found about this thread, but didnt want to use my username for various reasons. Anyways, I also questioned why you weren't training farming, but its good to see you finally did get it up. On a side note, do you regret not getting top 22 overall (or top 21 as it was then) back when you could've and/or do you have any plans of getting top 22 overall in 2011? I do realize you have other 200m skill goals (fishing, etc), but any plans for 120 dung? As people have pointed out, the skill could die down (much like duel arena tournaments but to that extent i think quite unlikely).
