  1. What are your slayer and summoning levels? How far are you from a yak? I'm awfully sorry. You made this post as I was typing my other one. You can look me up. My username is "Brink". I am 93 slayer and 83 summoning.
  2. Or, things could get more expensive in 3 months and you end out losing money. Plus if he doesnt have ovls/turm he'd need them for efficient frost dragon killing. So I don't really believe just hoarding money is the efficient thing. Well then you clearly lack basic math skills, I did some basic graphs of flipping profits, just to try and find the formula that me and Zaaps1 were looking for, once you start flipping with 600m+ you are looking at 12m profit per flip with a 2% increase each flip. If you keep spending money on skills as you get it you will ultimately take longer. The real profits don't come from doing frost drags, they come from the flipping towards the end. For it to work however, you need to be patient enough to hold on to all your money until the end otherwise it's just going to take longer. Things may get more expensive but by the time he has 930m he will be making 19m every flip cycle which means he will be able to catch up to any price increases within a day or two. This is all assuming only making 2% per flip, good flippers make 4-5%. In that case at 930m he would make 38m every flip cycle. Your method would mean he could never get there because he would be constantly spending money on skills and making less then a million each flip cycle. Really, your method would take longer no matter how you try and spin it. Also, I accounted for the fact that he has neither overloads nor extremes in my calculations, that's why frost dragons are 3m/h in my calculations. Realistically they could be even higher for him. The key is to have a yak which I believe he has. Most of the kills are from the cannon anyways. My three month estimate is very conservative, with good flipping it could be done in two months. Nifflin, thanks a lot for your very precise and in depth reply. At this moment I do not have a Pack Yak. Would Frost Dragon killing still be worth it? Or would you recommend that I go burst some lobsters or kill waterfiends for 96 summoning? You see, the thing is I don't really want to do that because I will eventually be getting 99 slayer and the charms...wasted...lol. But whatever earns me the most immediate cash is that I am most interested in. So in a nutshell. Start Frost Dragons immediately after 85 dungeoneering with no Pack Yak or Overloads? Or kill Waterfiends for crimson charms and get 96 summoning before I start them?
  3. Well everyone. I have decided to start going from 75-85 dungeoneering so that I can begin working on making cash as soon as possible. Good news is I know how to flip and I do a pretty good job with the amount of cash that I do have. The problem is that at the rate I am going, I would be done with my non buyables waaaaaaaaaaaay before I can even start the buyable skills. Anyway, like I said, I have started to do dungeoneering levels. I didn't plan on using a pak yak, turmoil, or overloads. Would killing Frost Dragons still be effective?
  4. Over the years I have come to realize that the buyable skill is easier than the non buyable, however making the money has always been a problem for me. Since 2006.
  5. Thanks again everyone. Please don't stop suggesting more ideas. I'm still reading with an open mind.
  6. I think I can give you a ballpark estimate that if you flip twice daily for 2% profits each time and make 6m doing frost dragons also daily, getting the money your looking for won't take more then three months playing three hours per day. This is assuming you are starting from zero cash. The trick is that since the flipping profits are exponential to always keep enough money to flip and not actually spend it on skills until you have enough for all of your skills. This is very much an estimation as me and Zaaps1 (mostly Zaaps1 actually) have yet to find a formula for this. But really, yea it's doable, you just need to persevere and have patience with the flipping. Three months, holy crap. Do you believe effective flipping on the grand exchange will still be possible after the re-release of free trade?
  7. Thanks everyone for your very effort intensive and meaningful advice. I will surely be taking all of these to the lab. I'm quite intrigued by the frost dragon method.
  8. Thank you very much. You have provided me with a wealth of information which I will write down and begin acting on immediately. Thank you very much.
  9. Superheating while mining does NOT delay you. Where have you been for the past year?
  10. My friend, efficiency takes into account time, gp, and experience. Tell that to all the well known efficiency guide makers where efficiency is purely classed as the fastest xp possible; which is a valid point since being efficient is about being fast, not necessarily cost effective. You couldn't be more wrong right now. The efficiency of a certain method is based on how much one values his or her time at. Time value is based on gp. I am correct. My prices and times are approximate here. 99 mining - 2 weeks - 0 gp 99 magic - 2 week - 30m gp 99 smithing - 1 week - 250m Given this information, it would take a player 5 weeks and 280m gp to get all of these skills to 99. How about if I told you that you could superheat while you do 99 mining, which would be 2 weeks, without losing time and get all of these 99s at the same time for virtually 90 percent less gp spent? You're saving plenty of time and a great deal of gp. You cannot call training these skills individually more efficient than mining/superheating at all. You just can't.
  11. My friend, efficiency takes into account time, gp, and experience.
  12. Alright. Concentrated gold is certainly the most efficient, however. Which is more important to me. Be careful with "efficient" in rs terms efficient is purely best xp:hr ratios. While ur method does train many skills it is not the most efficient in terms of pure xp:hr. There's more efficient methods for each skill which despite being single skill training would give faster xp overall. Having said tht unless ur an efficiency freak like some it doesnt matter all that much, what does matter is con gold is a good method for xp. Mining/Superheating is certainly the most efficient mining, smithing, and magic experience. How can you call 3 99s in the time it takes to get 1, two of them being buyables for the cost of 30m less efficient than ANYTHING? But that's not what this thread is about.
  13. Alright. Concentrated gold is certainly the most efficient, however. Which is more important to me.
  14. Actually concentrated gold is the fastest mining experience. Over the past few days, I have been able to achieve rates of 80k experience per hour. I'm however, I've turned mining into a buyable skill because superheating as you mine enables one to get 99 magic and be exceptionally close to 99 smithing for about 30m gp. So it's cutting my costs, lol. I'm going to apologize to Sy_Accursed because I feel like I'm turning down the very genuine and true advice he is offering me. About solo merchanting, or flipping. I've done that with some success. However, I've started just recently and it seems like my success will be watered down by the wilderness and free trade update that is in anticipation. How do you predict that update will affect merchanting?
  15. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. :) I realize that some skills yield some profit. But realistically speaking, one would need to achieve 99 runecrafting several times over to make the money required to get all of his or her skills to 99. In addition to that, most, if not all profitable skill training methods are extremely slow experience.
  16. How are these individuals managing to make such a large sum of in game money? I don't understand. I'm just about done with all of my non buyable skills and I've got Prayer, Construction, Herblore, Crafting, Slayer, Smithing, Summoning, and Farming all left to get to 99 and the amount of gp I need to make is unfathomable. I'm really trying to get as far as I can with this game, however at this point it seems very impossible. How do I do it? Someone please help.
