  1. I've gone back to the 07 game. To be honest I started playing in 07, and with each new update to the game (starting with Trade Restrictions which caused me to quit for a year) I have found less e njoyment in the EOC version, I guess also my levels weren't the highest (I had only one 99 and a 97) so I didn't mind starting over. I have been in a number of discussions on the main forums, in 07 forums the community has been slated for destroying the smaller clans so much, EOC players were going to vote in the polls in order to try and ruin 07. In the EOC forums there has been statements beging Jagex to make the game easier (could it get any easier?, I heard they have infinite run now, slap in the face to everyone who trained agility) Everyone has there own viewpoint (and even within the 07 community this is starting to show) I don't hate EOC, I just won't play it and even if 07 fades into oblivion I won't go back to EOC (to me its a game my 6 year old can play, and I'm considerably older than 6 and don't want to be treated like I am 6. I do hope the community can get back together a little and stop the constant flaming (in one thread requesting the levels needed to vote in the 07 polls to be raised, (in order to stop EOC played skewing the polls, those wanting the raise were compared to Hitler) There doesn't need to be hate, if your clans suffering for instance (as one person put it) then join another, if the OP is right and EOC isn't suffering then leave the 07 game alone. Just my thoughts Librarian 42
  2. In my view, I cannot see any coming together by the extreme elements on both games. If you have friends who play both then has been stated you can chat on friends chat, Unfortunately there are people who are showing the mental age of an ameoba in the official RS forums with both baiting and flaming in the ORS forums, with people who hate the game deliberately setting topics to inflame passions. This is not needed but I think it will continue for some time, especially as Jagex have set the level needed to vote in the new polls so low. As for myself I stopped playing the EOC game about a year ago, I logged in for penguin spotting and Player owned Ports, unfortunately thats not enough to keep me now. My main concern has been the updates to make the game easier, Bonus XP weekends, then unlimited bonus weekends. The introduction of Lodestones, then the removal of the waiting time to use them, and now I read about increasing the ability to Run more (makes me wonder when the agility skill and potions will be deleted from the game as there is practically no more use for them). Despite not playing the EOC I have no problem with those that do and sincerely hope that Jagex keep both going. Librarian 42
  3. Thanks for the replies, its just one idea for perking up the places that aren't popular, I guess having such a large map means you can have a city to yourself :)
  4. Hi, I'm David, 38 years old and I'm trying to get 99 farming before christmas. I'm also looking to join a nice, friendly clan who have similar interests in skilling, (it doesn't have to be just farming) I'm not a combat person at all really so any combat clans won't really appeal. I'm in the UK and on irregularly, but looking to be on more in the evenings 7-9pm UK time. If there's one out there then please let me know. Thanks Librarian 42
  5. @sebas379 Sorry about that, my first poll, would you know how to change that? or if someone else knows can they tell me, and if anyone can move it to the right place that would be nice. Thanks Librarian 42
  6. Hi, I started an earlier thread about areas and cities of Runescape becoming deserted and one of the things that came up was having the GE in other cities as well as Varrock. So I though I would do a poll see how this was thought of generally, it's only a bit of fun of course. If I'm going about this all wrong can a mod point it out to me or movce it please. Librarian 42
  7. I do want to point out that I am not in favour of removing the GE, I just thought it might be nice to give players an excuse to use other areas. someone mentioned I think only being able to buy certain items from certain areas which would help too maybe?
  8. Can anyone think of what can be done to bring these areas back into life. I for one would live to be able to access the GE in other areas, maybe the banks can have access points, that way people don't have to gravitate to just one place. Librarian 42
  9. @Den My post was concerning areas that are no longer used, and the fact it is a shame, I know its easier to use the GE and of course this is pretty much the only way to buy things now. I'm also bothered about how easy the game is getting but thats another post :) it just seems a shame that All these areas are created but only used when a quest takes them there. Librarian 42
  10. Hi, I posted this in the official forums but wanted to see what people thought here too. I am an in and out player of Runescape, some weeks Im on every day, some Im on a couple of times a week, and Ive been playing since approximately 2006 and I am a little worried. In the olden days I used to wander around, doing skills, buying and selling items and generally meeting new people, now, that doesnt happen so much and I just wanted to see what other peoples thoughts were on this. Ill give some examples, Of course the biggest change is the Grand Exchange (although I hope this doesnt degenerate into a its good, its bad argument). Before the GE if I wanted to buy items from other players I had to interact with them, this meant talking to them and if I wanted a regular supply of an item then I often interacted regularly, getting to know the person as we went along. Now a screen does the same for me. Before the GE I could wander into the odd shops dotted around (Falador and Varrock being the most often used) and see what they had in stock, and this stock changed constantly, it was always a surprise. Of course now no one is ever in the shops and I hardly ever have to buy from another person, which means I dont talk to as many people now as I did then. And of course it means certain areas of the game are becoming deserted, I went into Lumbridge Bank yesterday and there was no one else around, I went to Seers Bank and there was maybe 6 other people, none of them offering to sell bow strings. I used to go to buy Frog Leather from Dorgeshuun and sell it above ground, now the only time I see someone down there is when we are hunting penguins, the same goes for Relleka and Keldagrim, whole towns that are deserted and unused and when was the last time someone used the underground pass between Taveley and Catherby? Maybe Im just in the wrong worlds but I think its sad that so much of the game just doesnt get used, and unfortunately it seems to be getting worse as more teleports become available, no longer do I have to go to the Toll Gates to get to Al Kharid, theres the Ring of Duelling, Amulet of Glory and Gnome Glider to name just 3 ways of getting there. And I dont even have to wear desert robes and have water skins when I want to visit the desert towns, I just use the magic carpets or my Nardah teleport. Unfortunately I dont see how things can improve, the GE has many advantages to go with the disadvantages, and who wants to traipse from Ardougne to Varrock to visit the GE when you can simple Click a button and do it once. Hopefully though we can have a discussion and other people can put there views, I for one would like to hear what other people think. Librarian 42
