No, he just uses the sling. No, the only thing he drops is the sling. Confirmed, the first spell is free; no air or mind runes are dropped but you still get Caitlin's staff.

Comfirmed. :) Just done the quest now and you do not need the flour. Also, don't trust RS Wiki as it can be edited by anyone, but also, isn't it against the rules to rip info.?
