  1. Dungeoneering is really a hit and miss skill. Alot of people love it, and alot of people hate it. I would say the chaotic rapier was definitely worth the 'grind' to lvl 80. However dg does have a much higher learning curve then other skills in the past due to its versatility.

I do suggest you check out the dungeoneeringsweepers thread in the same forum. People there will be more then happy to help you with any dg questions.

I would also suggest that if you do train dg, use dungeoneering sweepers as much as possible, the reason why I said 'grind' was because it will feel very much like a grind if you use w117 because there are too many people who don't know what to do and refuse to learn.

  2. Lol completely off topic but I remember seeing a set up for bandos where someone wore full karil + cks. Not sure how good it against karil top + tasset + spectral but it's an alternative option if you are gonna get a chaotic shield anyway.

  3. One thing is if you use cannon, your cannon will initate combat. And if they aren't in melee range when your cannon initate combat, they will start maging you. So you need to get in melee range so they can melee you then you can drag them around the cannon so your cannon can hit them multiple times per spin.

  4. Definitely meds.

    1. not all rooms are created equal. For every dungeon, you probably spend 1 minute at ht getting tk, making runes etc and 2min in boss. While for any other room apart from gd, it will only take you 5-10 seconds to run through.

    2. doing smalls means you will have to reset more often, and c1ing will lower your exp rate.

  5. Solo dg was never as bad as people make it out to be, the exp rate from soloing was suppose to similiar to other skills of the same level.

Even though it might take a while for you to find a team on dgs, you can do other things during that time e.g. fletching, fm, wc, fishing, cooking, smithing, crafting. Basically anything that is fast to start and stop doing. You don't have to wait in daemonheim all the time.

  6. When me amd friends went for our torso's it took us maybe 5-6 hours for 4 people plus a random so IMO unless you can make 20 mil(?) in that amount of time it's worth it.

You can sell your BCP back once you are done with it.

  7. Fury Amulet is 10mil, giving +8 str bonus.

BCP is 18mil, giving +4 str bonus.

Taking into account that glory gives +6 str bonus, and assuming you dont have torso. A BCP has a lower gp/str bonus then a fury.

So if you are only slaying and you dont have torso, get BCP before Fury.

  8. I believe with yak + ovl, you makes more money at dks then tds. It should also be more then frosts but I am out of touch with frost bone prices.

Frost is fine to get you started. You can make a decent amount with tort, piety and extremes/supers. For Tds you will want 88 summoning.

If you done recipe for disaster, you can hunt hell rats for bown spices. Put 3 doses of brown spice into stew and you can get anywhere from a +6 to -6 boost in herby. Although +6 is very rare, it's more realistic to aim for +5. Greenman ale (m) boost herblore by 2, and the normal version boosts herblore by 1. You can easily boost using stew, then log out to lobby to preserve the boost before a minute is up.

  9. Nobody is going to pay you to assit you. Once you completely unlock them through assit or by yourself, you can a lamp which gives you exp in any skill you choose.

  10. Obt is right, don't bother with torag or dragon armour. Defense bonuses aren't necessary for slayer. The rest you can follow off what Quy said.

A chaotic rapier will speed up your slayer training much mofre then turmoil. Turmoil has less boost then piety for tasks like aqanties, wfs and spiritual mages. For turmoil to be faster then piety at wfs, you will need 95 summoning so you can kill them efficiently in the chaos tunnel.

In regards to buying orders, if you are only planning to slay - bcp > fury > tasset. Bcp is 20mil, and +4 str, fury is like 12mil with +2 over glory, you can do the math. BCP has a lower cost per str bonus. Of course this assumes you don't have torso. If you do then fury > bcp >tasset.

  11. Go with soup's setup. If verac's helm is too expensive, torag helm will provide better def but no prayer bonus. Also for your first trip, I would bring 4 ovl, 14 p pots and the rest brews.

This setup is for 2.5 bridding. There used to be a very good guide in general guides section of the forum but the author removed it. The basics of it is to pray mage at all times. Kill supreme first, then lure and safespot rex. Go back and kill supreme and repeat. If there you killed both supreme and rex before they respawn, start ranging prime.

For this you want to have 350+ def because you will be praying mage at all times so you need to tank supreme. Rex can be trapped around the edges of dks dungeon. Preferably, to the east of the dungeon so that if supreme spawns before you killing rex, it can't see you and attack you.

I wouldn't advise using cannon for your first trip because it might get too confusing for you. But if you do, place the cannon at where prime respawns (its like the south east corner of the red circle on your minimap in the dks dungeon). Fire it when you are killing supreme, don't fire it when you are killing rex or you might get killed by supreme spawning and attacking you.

Yakking the bones and hide should cover the cost of your pots.

If you are unfamiliar, Rex melees you, prime mages you and supreme ranges you.

  12. You can try boosting your herby and make super antifires then use a zammy spear to kill metals. However, I'm guess you can't really afford a zs atm so you could either try whip, or any of the new stabby weapons that jagex made. I would say yes do metal dragons, they have the highest 'potential' drop of any slayer monster, i.e. visage.

  13. well, the cannon's hit rate depends only on the accuracy of the weapon you're using.

the higher the accuracy - the more often it hits

Well yea I got that part, but is the increased accuracy of a cannon worth the dps loss when you use a cm instead of cr

  14.

Well at a multicombat cannon task you should be using a cls or maul to increase the cannon's accuracy, and a rapier would be worth it for this over whip anyway.

I saw that tip on runewiki as well, does anybody know for definite if cm with cannon is better then cr with cannon on slayer tasks.

  15. Most people just suicide for ma. It's good to play if you are busy, you basically attack the wall, afk for 4 min, kill your troops, resupply enter another game and afk for another 4 min and repeat.

Whether it's worth it is up to you. To me it is, unless you have some plans for that cash. Slayer won't make you tons of money. It would be better overall if you made money by bossing or something and then used that money for slayer. But as I said, at your slayer level, you should break even powerslaying. You will even make money if you decide to 'up' your tasks. I.e. zammy boss when assigned greaters, dks when assigned dags

  16.

Part of the reason why it degrades in multi over non-multi is simply because you are in combat for longer. I.e. or an hour of training: when you are cannoning dags, you are in combat fo 1 hour, but if you are fighting dust devils, you are probably in combat for 50min.I have never tested the multi combat theory and it would be nice if somebody who has tested rigourously post. However, I don't believe chaotics degrade based on the 'hits' taken because you could theorticly make chaotics last forever by training on men.

@fire, the rs database figures aren't terriblely 'accurate' (absoption of chaotic shields is another example). The 10 hour of combat is quite vague. The amount chaotics degrade could actually be 10 hours with a health bar over your head, or chaotic weapons could have a set amount of hits they can deal for 1% degration and jagex calculated the number of hits chaotics can do, the time between each hit and worked it out to be roughly 10 hours. I don't know if this is true or not but the data given by rs database is not something you should take as absolute.

Edit: I wrote the part in spoiler before I read My_Eggs reply.
