Silly lag. Going straight to 70 Strength, by the way. My first intention was 69 since it's ranked at that level, but I figured that I may as well round it off to 70 (800,000 exp and I'll never train it again). After that, I'll probably get 70 Attack (again, 800,000 exp) and probably a higher Defence level (higher than Attack and Strength, that is). Just going to focus on combat since I'm not bored. Fishing and Cooking levels will come, too! 1.png

  2. I had a good read, for the second time. :P

Good luck with your future goals.

    Thanks, Aart. 1.png

Good luck, DIY in P2P is hard enough. DIY in F2P must be hell.

Forgive me if you answered this questions in your OP, but:

When you say you won't be picking up drops at all, do you mean that you won't even pick up drops if you decide to go PK'ing to obtain things you wouldn't otherwise be able to get just by skilling?

    Thanks. 7.png

I'll try to clarify to the best of my ability. If there's an item on the ground that wasn't dropped by a monster I killed, then I will not pick that item up. If I were to ever find a rare on the ground, then I will pick it up. Hope that helped. 1.png

My friend, Skilz Pwnd U, is my good luck charm. If he wasn't with me the entire time, I would've never gotten these items. I also died, so he came in handy with his 80 Prayer. e9847.gif

I've killed a total of 21 cockroach soldiers. My 14th kill got me a rune scimitar. The 21st kill got me a rune square shield. I also completed Dragon Slayer with my pro armour! Today was a great day. :D

  3. Oo have fun with your goals!

I see you came over here from TFS eh. :P

    Thanks, and yeah. 18.png

I somehow managed to download Firefox on this insanely, lagtastic laptop. So much better than Internet Explorer. 17.png There's lag, but a good amount less than when I was using Internet Explorer. I sometimes get these occasional bursts of lag that won't go away until about 3 minutes later. . Quite annoying, but because I made a DIY'er, I was patient enough to wait it out without going insane. e9851.png If I was still playing on L E E T, I probably would've thrown the laptop across the room. 18.png I'm also getting a black screen every now-and-then, so I'll have to fix that soon. Anyways, on to the story!

I climbed down the ladder, eager to slay some hill giants. Once I fully descended downwards into their lair, I brought my hands to my mouth and threw up before noticing. This stench was like nothing I've ever smelled before. The hill giants were emitting an odor that I couldn't even comprehend. No wonder people use bots down here. 17.png My hands were twitching, with mucus dripping from them. I was practically frozen because of this smell, so I grabbed a piece of cloth that I saw with my peripheral vision to wipe my mouth with. The hill giant turned around and roared a stupid roar. It was obviously mad, but I couldn't help but laugh at the inane monster. While I was busy laughing, it swung its club across my face and I flew across the dungeon, smashing into the wall. Did that hurt, or did that hurt? I slowly stood up while watching the hill giant run towards me. I managed to stand up, but the damage was evident. My legs couldn't stop shaking. This bastard did a lot to me with just one swing. I clutched my pickaxe and struck the hill giant in its right arm. It roared with pain. Felt good to see blood come from something other than myself, but I didn't want a repeat of what happened while Dungeoneering, so switched my attack style and started whacking the hill giant with the side of the pickaxe. I thought that I could bruise him to death, rather than spilling blood. The hill giant put up a nice fight, but it only hit me the first time because I wasn't paying attention. Like hell I would let him hit me again. I rampaged through the whole dungeon, bruising every hill giant. Okay, I'm getting bored with this story. e9847.gif

I'm contemplating on continuing with these stories. Getting bored with 'em. Running out of ideas, too.

  4. So... I still need to update the first post with a "Slayer log" and an "Updates" section. I'll get to that one day ... hopefully. Probably won't, lol. Not much to say, though, other than that I killed quite a few cockroach drones (100), workers (25), and soldiers (13) over the past few days (while keeping a kill log for each of them), and I levelled to 50 in Fishing and Cooking via lobsters. I ran out of lobsters, so I stopped with the cockroaches for a bit. I hope I can get my rune scimitar somewhat soon, though.

Should have 68 combat in the near future, too. Can't wait to start Mining. I'll most likely mine 4k iron ore and then smith them at Artisan's Workshop, as gathering all the ores in one go will probably kill me.

I'm still going strong (hi, Walrus) with hill giants, too. Managed to get numerous Attack levels, along with some Strength/Constitution/Prayer levels. Started using the trout and salmon that I had banked from the previous update. I finished up all my trout, and I'm running low on salmon/feathers, so I'll have to camp chickens soon. As for Magic, that'll take awhile, but I'm alright with that. I'm not in a hurry to level Magic right now. Once I acquire a nice amount of death runes from hill giants, I'll use 'em for Magic purposes. But right now, I'm content with my 30 low alchs each day.

Below is my usual loot from hill giants after using up 22 salmon.

On a side note, if anyone would like to help me get a Duellist's cap (tier 6), I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm currently at 200 kills (forfeits, actually).

  5. Welcome to the blog section of these forums Gabe.

    Superheat/ Sirdr...

    Thanks, Aart. :D

What about Ouri? :) Gl man, I'll add Aezr too and we can talk yeah ^.^

    Spoken to in-game. e9847.gif

What kind of restrictions are you putting on yourself to play a DIY in F2P? Not everything is available for us to make or from drops.

Good luck though. Hope to hear about your progress soon.

Hmm. I think I'll make a section on the first post for restrictions. I'll have to give it a good amount of thought, though. For now, I guess I'll list a few here.

    • No use of the Grand Exchange or interaction with other players (excluding Duellist's cap and Shield of Arrav).
    • No minigames.
    • Picking up dropped items from other players is forbidden, unless it's a rare. Doubt that'll ever happen, though.

I usually just go with the flow. If I think that I can't do it by myself, then I won't do it.

    Welcome to the forums!

Never saw a f2p DYI blog. Good luck with it.

    Favourite Books: N/A

You have to many favourite books or don't like to read? :)

Hehe, too many favourite books and thanks!

    To be honest, I've never seen a F2P DIY'er, so I thought I'd give it a try. :o

It's been quite awhile since I actually updated this blog (36 days, as a matter of fact).

Took a break from the DIY'ing ways and trained 2 other accounts for a good amount of time. Lately, I've been bored with both of 'em and wanted to come back to Ouri. Also, I'm quitting L E E T Wcer for good. I hate getting bored after 30 minutes of play time. :-/ Stickin' with Ouri from now on. 'Tis a promise.

My initial plan was to update at 60+ Dungeoneering. Yeah, that didn't work out well... I've decided to just (kill chickens for feathers) fish and cook for food to compensate for not wearing armour. Can't wait to reach 68 combat. I trained mostly on Hill Giants throughout the day. Got a few melee levels along the way, as well as 50 combat. Took a break from the Hill Giants and decided to test my luck with a rune scimitar drop at Cockroach Soldiers. My first encounter with one was terrible. I ate all my salmon in about a minute, and I used up all of my Prayer. I left in a hurry, knowing I was about to die. Before I left, I glanced at its health bar and saw a sliver of red. :x

    Armour/weapon used:

    • Duellist's cap
    • Silverlight
    • Green d'hide chaps
    • Green d'hide vambraces
    • Swanky boots
    • Falador herald cape
    • Explorer's ring (3)

    Inventory:

    • 28 Salmon

Right before attempting a second time, I levelled to 41 Mining and bought myself a rune pickaxe. Much better than a Silverlight. :P With my handy dandy rune pickaxe, I managed to defeat that atrocious bug and loot a glorious amount of 3 (noted@@@) mithril ores! :D

    Armour/weapon used:

    • Mask of Dragith Nurn
    • Hard leather body
    • Rune pickaxe
    • Green d'hide chaps
    • Green d'hide vambraces
    • Anti-dragon shield
    • Swanky boots
    • Falador herald cape
    • Explorer's ring (3)

    Inventory:

    • 23 Lobster
    • 5 Salmon

This band is amazing. They're a Christian, melodic hardcore band from Texas,

and the lyrics they come up with are nothing more than their shared dedication to their faith.
