  1. I have these sudden buzzes while playing songs and playing games. They are all random, sometimes loud. The thing is, it doesn't happen all the time. But once it starts, it does not stop. Any idea whats going? I did not have this issue before reinstalling window 7 and formating my harddrive. I have updated my driver. Still not sure what is up. Conexant 20561 SmartAudio HD is the audio drive on this laptop. It is thinkpad t400.
  2. nope i am not, i am opening them after i download them. They are all in the temperary file. I put that NASA in that folder just for comparison for everyone.
  3. nope they are not there. I think it has something to do with .Theme and .Themepack. Something with my laptop maybe?
  4. I am having trouble getting the downloaded themes for window 7 off Microsoft website to work. The format off the website is .themepack while all the other themes that came with the laptop is .theme. I went on google and they suggested that I just open the .themepack file by double clicking it. However, it does not open at all when I click on them. Is there any way I can get the .themepack file to convert to .theme? Edit: new info The NASA theme is downloaded from microsoft website (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/personalize) It is different from what I have on system. One is .Theme, other one is .Themepack Thanks
  5. Before I upgraded to W7 from vista, my average temperature on this laptop is around low 40s degree, but right after i install it, it jumped to as high as 53 degree with nothing running. I am using speedfan at the moment, but found this other program called real temp. I used both and they are around 5 dgrees apart, real temp is lower in temperature. Real temp seem to be more of the normal temperature that I've seen in vista, but I have always used speed fan. Which one should I trust? Btw did anyone else's temperature go up after w7 installation?
  6. Well I've trying to play Battlefield 2 for 2 months. After buying the new T400 thinkpad, there is this problem with the audio and Battlefield 2. If i use the regular audio drive, the game gets stuck when it loads the audio part and I never get to enter the game. So after searching for a really long time, the best solution I've seen is to disable the audio device so that I can play the game but without ANY sound. I only have have ONE audio drive, the other one I just installed it to test. The actual audio drive is the first one in this following picture. I think the main problem is that this audio device is HD and I am trying to find a way to get a similar drive that is a downgrade of the current drive. So the game can run. Things I have tried already, so please don't tell me these suggestion: -Updated the audio drive -Rolled back the drive to the manufacturing state -Patched the game -Made it compatible to XP I am using vista Ultimate 32bit, the graphic is fine, I just need to know how to duplicate and create a crappier version of my current audio device.
  7. Oldjoe, yep still says ATI 3400 series.. lenovo must have tempered with it somehow lol
  8. wah really? it loks like have a 3450 then.. wth the company said it is 3470. sbrideau, it still says 3400 series. I guess digitally they never clarified it properly.
  9. i acctually played both 2142 and bf2 on vista on my thinkpad t61. it worked fine. but i just got this new thinkpad, and it doesn't work for some reason. I am really puzzled. I never had a problem with a game with its audio system. It has always been the graphic problems. But if there is anyone else that know what to do, it would be greatly appreciated.
  10. it only says ATI 3400 series lol..
  11. how do i check the exact model of my graphic card on my laptop? it just says ATI Radeon 3400 series. I donno if it is 3450 or 3470. any idea
  12. i've tried to install it 20 times lol.. bf2 gets stuck when bf2voicesetup[Caution: Executable File] is running during installation.
  13. Im not sure if anyone has encountered this problem, but I was trying to play Battlefield 2 and Battlfield 2142 and both of these games crashes due to some kind of audio failure. I believe in battlefield 2, it was the bf2voicesetup[Caution: Executable File] that got stuck, not sure about 2142. In either cases, when I try to access the audio in the option tab, the game freezes. I've tried both roll back and upgrade on my audio driver. Both failed. I've searched on google this problem, but not a lot of people seem to have this and none of the solution provided any help. I ran it with compatibility to XP and it still doesn't work. Does anyone know what I should try next?
  14. i just bought a new laptop and it only has only one drive i am trying to divide it so that there is a lot more room in the new drive (D) than C drive. i went through the usual vista partition process that i learned off google. but for some reason, i only can partition 74GB. I checked C drive. it has 220 gb and only used 32 gb. I am trying to get 140gb in d drive and the rest in c drive.
