  1. http://puu.sh/9fAc Some of the things they are gonna try to fix soon hopefully.

I noticed that many of the old hiscores features were missing (I'm not active in the forums or anything, so I wasn't aware of all that stuff). I'm glad someone is bringing it to Jagex's attention.

Edit: I never really noticed how close Kingduffy is to a 50m base. He only has four skills under 50m, and it wouldn't take him too long to get them up if he wanted.

Suomi doesn't have an alog pic anymore. When you click on the picture is says "This account either does not exist or has never logged in to RuneScape."

    #panic

Cheers for all the new website glitches. Just so you know, if you search his name specifically it says that it's not publicly available, which is correct. His picture is also still on the hiscores.

Edit: Oh and I know you're not actually panicking, I'm just pointing these things out.

  3. i heard no ticks are wasted in there.

if you admit to wasting a tick you get kicked and have to attend Gemeos's bootcamp for tick saving.

Actually, Gemeos shut down that boot camp. He was wasting too many ticks helping other people not waste ticks. Now you're just kicked permanently, no second chances.

You can calc yourself here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AiNH0EgjDiPcdFVCRkV4bkU4RUQ0WFVNV2tnOFZXMFE

You should include the number of hours they've each gained since the last time update. Because of course I'm too lazy to go find the last one.

  5. It's true, S U O M I has an ungodly lead on almost everyone. Only three other people have hit 3b exp, and he's already at 3.6b? Unreal. It's also interesting to point out that he has more than double the xp of the last few players on the front page. I'm excited to see him plow through rc xp as well; in fact he's already well on his way.

Also, I truly truly truly wish I could be a NEET :D [bleep] society, tbh.

  6. Anybody wonder if Jmods follow this thread?

OK, so rather than add another rant about the f2p highscore nuke (there have been enough already - most very well put), I have a suggestion instead.

It sounds like Jagex's objective is to remove bots and inactive players (targeting primarily the mid level ones that quit I assume) so that new members can better compete with real competition. With those objectives in mind, why not simply separate the highscores, one for p2p and one for f2p. Members would no longer need to compete with inactives and bots, f2p wouldn't need to compete with members (Water please correct me if I am wrong, but I think that would be a bonus for you), and everybody gets to keep their ranks. Finally, Jagex creates a new incentive for f2p to join members. Win-win-win for all?

I'm curious to know what you think and if you have any other alternatives.

If I understand you correctly, you're saying that former members would go to the f2p hiscores? That's how I read it, just correct me if I am wrong. If f2p and p2p hiscores were indeed separated based on current membership, all of the highest ranks in the f2p hiscores would be inactive players like Paperbag, Zarfot, etc. Players like Water would still have higher overall ranks compared to now, but it wouldn't exactly be ideal to have a front page of all inactive players.

  7. They could divide all Xp's by 10, in a way increasing the max by 10. Everyone with 200m Xp would have 20m Xp and all current Xp gains would give 1/10th of what they did before. Or they could use a prestige system, which would allow a near infinite amount of potential Xp. When one hits 200m, they'd reset to 0xp, keep their level 99, and go up 1 prestige point. Each prestige point would stand for 200m Xp.

The main issue I've always had with a much higher xp maximum is the fact that the rank 1 would inevitably be some noob with 2b cooking and 2b fletching xp, or something like that. It would increase the time/xp variance between players substantially, making the hiscores even less reliable.

Unless the max level was increased at the same time. That would effectively ruin any incentive for 2b cooking, since it'd be more efficient to gain ranks by training all skills evenly timewise.

That's a great point, Jebrim. However, that wouldn't stop Gemeos.

  9. Yeah, also as the top players have gotten higher and higher, it's seemed more likely that someone will eventually max. It's insane to look at the front page of the hiscores. Almost 1.7B xp is required to get there; compare that to a few years ago. And I mean, now it basically seems like a foregone conclusion that someone will max, since there are multiple people over 3B xp. And of course the xp rates, and easier moneymaking as well, have made a big difference in recent years.

  10. I take my hat off to anyone who duoed PP with Green or trained DG with her in any way.

Also, what's with all the Green fanboys L? We already talked about her 50 times and discussed why people make fun of the way she plays, get over it seriously.

I haven't followed this thread for too long, all I've really seen about Green is that her English is bad. I'm not a fanboy, I was just curious if there was a specific reason everyone hated on her. And apparently it's her training methods, so I understand now =p

  11. Yay League of Legends won the Best Free-to-Play Golden Joystick Award this year! Well deserved.

RuneScape didn't deserve to win this year tbh, I hope Jagex learned something from this =P

YES@@@@@@@@@@ I'm so happy that Botscape didn't win this year. I personally went and voted for LoL even though I've never played the game because Jagex is by far the worst company at the moment. Cya MMG.

    Also this:

So apparently Farmville > RS as well LLLLLLLLLLLLLL. MMG gtfo please.

I guess the whole "We're killing the bots, really!" update from the VP didn't change the Runescapians' decision. Too bad.
