You really overlooked the whole basic concept of email hacking and subsequent spamming there. YOUR email gets hacked. HACKER sends porno or w/e to all YOUR contacts. YOUR mother is on YOUR contacts. So your mother receives said email of porn or w/e from YOUR account and thus you have to explain it. I think you overlooked a key phrase. The op stated that they are grown up so they dont really need to worry about explaining stuff to their parents. But the are other things to worry about such as bank account hacking that could really harm him
