  1. Yeah I've seen an increase past 48 hours too, bizarre.

I've decided to not care though. All bots have ever done is make unbottable stuff worth more, but with no worthwhile unbottable PVM (Other than DKs), nothings gonna change, everything is bottable. Maybe zerk rings go up a little relative to everything else. Maybe there are more ess bots than rc bots so ess is cheaper. Meh.

Oh and it'll probably lead to more dumb people with money to lose in the wilderness, which is great.

Pretty sure anything can\will be botted if bots are let to run rampant.

  2. In my opinion, the first people to max total are going to be the people doing the Money maker, or time saving skills first.

This is assuming they actually decide to go for it.

For example...the guys doing agility first....they've have a HUGE advantage now when training everything else due to run restore rates and shortcuts, Especially for skills like slayer.

I think those who did buyables are going to have a good advantage, since they actually MADE money from them.

Also, those of us doing RC should have a little bit of a lead atm as there's not much competition for 91+ RC'ers atm.

In the end, there's nothing anybody could have done atm to save TOO much time, maybe decrease their time needed by like 5% or less by doing special things first.

  4. It's annoying enough that every other trade at W2 Varrock is someone trying to scam by changing 34000 to 3400 or w\e, don't need another thing that people can try to scam with. Even though luring was fun as hell, it really was just a pain in the ass to everyone.

People also wanted the game to be rolled back because it was too easy and held your hand all the time.

There are two thing that can happen

1.Person asks you to meet above edgeville

    -You go

    -You get lured

    -You don't get lured again

    2. Person asks you to meet above edgeville

-You don't go because you're not stupid

    3. You try to sell an item legitly

-You get mass spammed with people begging you to meet above edgeville.

I'm definitely in favor of its removal. I was devastated when I saw it was included in this snapshot of 2007, it's a symbol of the events that led to the removal of the Wilderness and everything thereafter (also it's annoying for Runecrafting I guess, and I hate seeing people hanging out in its neutral zones).

If your reason for having it removed is people standing in its safe-zone, then they will just move to the 1 square divider between wildy\non-wildy... it'd make no difference.

  5. I was wondering: does anyone know how people can get such high buyable skills so early in the game? How do they make their money? As of right now, the top crafter is 88, fletcher is 97, herblore 81...

edit: I spotted N0valyfe jr on the hunter hiscores (rank 7), is he actually n0valyfe?

Crafting could have easily rushed a certain level by being pushed by 1 or 2 people and then sustained himself making money making amulets\rings\hides for people.

Fletching could also have been pushed just until yew long level and then easily sustained himself, some of the top fletchers had 1-2m less than a day after they were able to start fletching yew longs.

Idk about herblore, I know Mithril is mass buying unids, so maybe he merches them while using the better ones?

    Also, I don't believe that n0valyfe jr is n0valyfe. :(

  6. Wow. No way in hell we touch 500k votes. Forget about 750k. We don't even have 500k+ subscribers...

Is it bad that I laughed at this? Hard like side splitting laughter.

I'm just adding up the numbers now man. I'm looking at the Highscores list and wtf there can't be more than 400k+ members!!!

    Jagex played us.

If you look at the highscores, there are 1,821,826 members. Just saying

    picard-facepalm.jpg?1240934151

    1.2 million are Trialists.

Can you tell who is on trial? Just wondering..

  7. Why the [bleep] do you guys compare RSC with what's happening now? The time frame and generation is much much different than it was before.

Nostalgia failed then and it will fail now.

The big difference is that nobody was really obsessed over RSC(on a large scale), it was pretty much a general improvement from RSC->RS2.

The difference here is that people have put 2007 on a pedestal and think of it as the holy grail of Runescape.(As for many of us, 2004-2008 was probably the most fun we've had on the game) But the thing is that it was mostly fun because of the people we met and that everything was so new and exciting, NOT entirely because of the mechanics, which I think people will realize after the vote.. but for now the votes will keep pouring in lol

  8. It's gonna get over 100k votes very easily considering its almost at 70000 and we're not even 24 hours in.

I'm pushing 250k votes by Monday, and within the next two weeks 500k votes. Let's all welcome back the good old days folks.

    Ah delusional hope.

I'm betting it falls short or maybe hits the 250k mark.

    Numbers clearly back me up.

Closing in on 70k votes, 17 hours left. If we just average 3k votes will have almost 130k votes before tomorrow. I'm 100% sure this will hit 250k by Monday or Tuesday.

    I'm 100% sure 0% of the time

  9. just wanna start off this post with saying: Player Owned Ports is awesome! i really havent had a reason to keep loging in besides for sending me ships out to sea. Im pretty happy so far with my progress cept for the fact that i dont have any scrolls yet xd

I just got to the bowl a few days ago, and ive only managed to come back with about 400 jade so far....

for jade missions, im lucky if i can get around 60%. Im probly just unlucky so far, but has a quick method for acquiring jade / moving swiftly through the bowl been established yet? still crew then ship or are speed / extra ship more important?

    anyways happy sailings

    Rudder>Crew>Morale Hull>Decks>Sea Hull

Also, sounds like you have bad luck, with just lvl 7 scythe teams I was able to 80-100% almost everything until I had enough jade to get upgrades to ship\crew and the ability to 100% a lot more often.

  10. Here's a tip I found that may be useful to everyone else. Now that we're in the Bowl, and are no longer able to complete all the daily missions, reroll missions with low resource rewards. You will not run out of voyages, but can get a significant amount more jade this way.

Good if you barely have any time, but if you have some time you should do arc\skull\[Caution: Jagex Rule Violation]\etc missions to use up your final 5-10 missions that you normally wouldn't be able to complete.

  11. I'd advise against getting the rudder first. I got it and regretted it. Only gives +200 speed compared with the cherrywood one. For reference, the best attainable Bowl voyage time is 6:57 if I'm not mistaken.

Friend said his times went from avg 9 hours to avg 7 hours on bowl with the rudder upgrade, I'm definitely going for it first.

  12. Alright, I did another test to test out the order in which trade resource boni are applied. Earlier on, I made a remark how the game applies each multiplier, rounds down, then applies the other until the cycle's through.

I sent out a 80 chimes/80 bamboo mission with the Spacious warehouse (6% chime bonus, 10% bamboo bonus), Fortune of the Sea (10%) and Trader (20%) and I got 111 chimes and 115 bamboo out of it.

So the 6 orders in which they can be applied are as follows (Warehouse, Fortune, Trader), remember that it's rounded down every step:

    WFT: 110/115

    WTF: 110/115

    FWT: 111/115

    FTW: 111/115

    TWF: 111/115

    TFW: 111/115

So, at least we know what happens when you send a ship without a resource-boosting crew member at least. The Fortune of the Sea is applied first, then the Warehouse's.

No clue yet what the correct order is. Furthermore, this doesn't even consider the totems, but let's not count that in, yet.

Can I just make a plea for people to post their sent voyages (preferably, Scythe/Bowl missions) WITH a merchant on-board, the listed rewards and the rewards you actually receive, along with what bonuses you have active?

Sent a Trader on a 2000 chimes and 800 jade mission, got 2798 chimes and 1056 jade.

It confirms my suspicions, but it doesn't change anything about equation. All 4 possibilities of combinations still apply.

    Bah.

Anyone else willing to help? Preferably use a Merchant since he has an odd double-digit multiplier. Also, preferably on a voyage with chimes ending in #50.

I've sent out a 500 cherrywood mission with a 25% from the merchant (a=1.25), 5% bonus from warehouse (b=1.05) and 10% bonus from the fortune of the sea (c=1.1). The end result was 721 cherrywood. The formula for the end result is quite simple reward=(base reward)*a*b*c=500*1.25*1.05*1.1=721.875, rounded down to 721. I checked the formula for different voyages and it always fitted. It also fit with your examples. Since the bonuses are multiplied and the result is only rounded down at the end, the order of multiplier doesn't matter.

    Got this a while ago.

    650 Wood*1.25*1.1=893.75 rounded down to 893. Fits

  13. Is there anything that prevents randoms? I know I read about someone missing a bar mission and I did the same and went back and it was actually still there and I completed it. That was over a week ago and i haven't had a single random since.

The only thing that prevents them is if you have one. Just left click talk to the barmaid+black marketer and if they don't initiate the random then you're just being unlucky.
