  1. Yea you would think they would be making a lot more progress with the amount of things that need work.
  2. So I read somewhere that the min level to use the 1.5k lamps received as the normal reward from carnillean rising is level 30. I want to use the bonus xp start on summoning which is embarrasingly low. I was going to train up to 30 so I could use the lamps but then I saw you can get up to 6 bonus lamps from Phillipe Carnillean after the quest provided you have high enough combat and quest points. I have enough combat and quest points for 5 of the lamps (250 QP), but I wasn't sure if there was also a minimum level tacked on to those. Do any of you guys who may have already done the quest know what that minimum level might be?
  3. Any patch notes for today posted in the limited beta forum?
  4. Not really gamebreaking, but a step in the wrong direction for sure.
  5. It's not as big a deal when you are limited to a 2x or 3x boost but still have to do the skill. It would mean that daily records are only 3x what they were. It would never breach the effigy "daily record" wall, because those you could actually open lamps and get xp super fast. I don't see the issue of being able to store the xp necklaces. Records would already be by bxpw anyways since those lasted longer than the 24-30 hr days that trackers used. To further expand on this, the amount of XP a necklace gives is set when the necklace is claimed from the SoF and is based on your current skill level. This amount doesn't change regardless of levelling the associated skill, so saving the necklace until level 99 doesn't buy you anything. Kind of like the implementation, pretty well thought out.
  6. Then what is the problem if people bot? The same reasoning can be used here. I for one actually CARE about rs: I like it as a satisfactionary race to 99s all; even though I'm not winning I like to temporary race with people around me on the highscores - see how I progress. There are several key differences: 1. Bots utilize resources legitimate players need, whether that be mining rocks, trees, monsters, etc... This is probably the single biggest issue I (and I'm sure others) have with bots. 2. When a player buys a bot, the money goes to a private company and not back into the game. 3. Bots are bought once and used continuously until a player reaches the desired level, usually for a (relatively) low cost, like $20 or so. To buy a skill all the way to 99 using the SoF you would have to spend hundreds or possibly thousands of dollars, so people are FAR less likely to abuse it to that extent.
  7. I edited your post, but I agree 100% with you. I have no problem with people buying spins or getting stuff from solomon's store. People have been buying their way to 99's since RS classic (bots, gold selling, etc...). In reality, the xp gained from using the SoF pales in comparison to the potential of these other "illegal" methods, especially when you consider the money spent/xp received. The fact that some legitimate players want to pump money into Jagex to get a few levels or costumes just means that the money is now going to funding all the updates to the game I love to play.
  8. It was posted in the Sizzling summer thread that the darts can't be used on quest bosses or in kiln/caves. They didn't put their source, but provided that is true then these darts are just meh...I doubt they would work on Nex either.
  9. sigh and what for those without 95 prayer? Everyone in the game has ss/turm...duhhhh. Why else would Jagex say:
  10. Anyone with full access to the combat beta know what this weeks patch notes are?
  11. So they're nearly useless in terms of long-term impact. That's relieving. I'll probably dart a jad task or two and then use the remainder on nex solos on the night of their expiration. how would you dart 2 if it can only be used once? You get to pick a total of 4 reward items, from the available 4 listed. I assume that since they are giving you a choice and there are only 4 items, this means you can choose multiple of a certain item.
  12. Either that or SoA should be buffed in some way so that it justifies the rediculous quest/skill requirements to obtain (in comparison to divine storm, which I am assuming is just mage arena). If the difference is only marginal between the two, then something seems wrong there.
  13. Anyone know how Arma storm is in the latest version of the beta? I don't have it currently but am working toward ROTM as we speak and just want to make sure my efforts won't be for nothing once EoC goes live.
  14. Can't even view the forum, stupid limited access to Beta and not letting us see the 'special' Beta forums :/ Yea I agree, that is annoying. I wish they would at least just let us read the forum, even if they don't allow us to post or create new threads. It would be nice to be able to track the beta and see what is going on.
  15. Yep. There's just too much for one tab, and the layout they're currently using is very impractical. I agree. I think they were trying to make it so people better understood what each ability was without having to hover over it. Though, I think once people get used to icons then they will know what is what without having to hover over it all the time like with the old magic spell book.
  16. You have to click the import account button when you log in to the beta. Otherwise you start off as a new level 4 character.
  17. I doubt it is on their list of top prioirties, most people don't pay per MB/GB for their regular internet service. Is that your only option?
