  1. Actually, what will happen on the big party is a huge auction.

They will sell SUOMI's account for the highest bidder in runecoins. All of the proceedings will go into "making runescape a better game for all of us to play."

Since RS is Jagex's property they can do it, they will just reinburse SUOMI's account with a new account for him (named "asfegf8r3reoiuw"), which has the same amount of hours played (since that is the only thing we own in this game), but 0 xp.

Trust me, I heard it from a reliable source, and I am a reliable guy as well. :D

  2. Glacors or QBD is your best bet. I would reccomend glacors as you will need the charms anyhow and they drop a lot of them.

XPwise without extremes/ovls it is actually closer to 270-300k/h, with extremes it's around 320-350k/h (total)

They are also decent money makers. I swear they have vamped the drop rates to drop more boots. I've made like 10 M/h for the last 17 hours there... 5 ragefires, 2 glaivens, 2 steads seems too much drops to be a fluke.

Use fire surge chatoic staff and void.

  3. I have been playing about the same time as SUOMI (well actually more than that..) and I have 6,3% xp of what he has. [bleep] the donation part - haters gonna hate. People will especially hate on a monumental achievement like the 5B will be. "If you have never had anyone hate on you, you have never done anything worthwhile in your life" (paraphrasing Katt Williams)

Figures that you have competed proffessionally in a sport - that's probably where that kind of resolve stems from. I find myself at loss of words when I think of the achievment, pixels or no pixels, that is a metric-f*ckton of dedication and drive.

What interests me way more than the 5B is though how do you manage to dedicate that much time to RS, I guess you have a decent source of passive income, which makes me jealous.

PS! While Lapland is nice, Oulu area is a lot better. :D

  4. What was the general verdict on speed in the Bowle and ship updates? My goal is to get to max resources for armour and scrimshaws. Progression speed is not that important because I am way behind other as is anyway (maybe 20% through bowl)

At the moment I am going for:

    1. Crew for SF, M and C + 3 JOD (tbh the stats scale up so quickly that I want to start training my crew ASAP)

    2. 4th ship

    3. Ship upgrades

Is that the wahy to go or is the

  5. Hello everyone. My question is fairly straight forward. I need summoning 99 and I am only 1 level short. I onyl train with crimsons and blues (preferrably blues of course)

So with EOC what is the best option. I know of 3 basically: waterfiends with black sallies, dagganoths with ancient magiks, corporal beast (rock lobs are out of the question for me, too much hassel tbh and I have killed waaay too many Glacors to go back there) Corp while good money and great charms is not very steady as I don't have my teammates on very often and I play hecticly.

So what do you guys reccomend and do you have any idea on average charms/h? Have I missed out on a good charm monster? Money is not an issue.

Also: what gear should I kill Bork with now in EOC? Haven't done him in ages.

  6. You are positively (or negatively?) crazy.

Agility is not a skill you are supposed to train, it is a skill you dump all your extra xp in... Personally, I haven't trained agility since level 73. If you weren't such a badass DIY, you'd be way better off just bosshunting.

And yes that is jealousy speaking, because training agility for me is a lot more boring than watching paint dry or grass grow.

  7. Btw, does anyone know how much XP you get from the big chinchompa minigame?

At your level you are looking at 40-45k ish xp per game. When I was going for 90 i was averaging 38k per game. Also you will get 1500 points per game which is an added 7,5k XP (or a ton more if you decide to get grenwall tickets instead). But the max points is 20k, so be sure to cash in beofre, otherwise one will xpwaste.. As I did. :) Best of luck with your slay goal!

  8. You can only complete the game in front of you. I'm not going to walk up to a guy in a comp cape and say "Hey, take it off because there's a quest coming out in four weeks time." What an asinine argument.

^^thank you, I learnt a new word today. Had to google it just in case. :)

My point still stands though. Future updates are irrelevant.

Yeah I'm just gonna have to agree to disagree with both of you and call it a day. I am not an experienced internet warrior.

In my mind, the only person who is coming close to truely completing the game is SUOMI, as soon as he hits that magic 5B mark, I will be glad to say that there is indeed one guy who has completed the game, irrelevant to future updates.

  9. I'll probably give a point-by-point response tomorrow, but in the mean time I'll just restate that in the past, yes, there was no way to "complete" RS. People like Zezima were the only ones thought to have completed it, and they were extreme outliers. But nowadays...

You can't really complete RS and that is the whole beauty of it to me.

...there is literally a cape called the "completionist cape." People obtain it every day.

.....yeah that was really smart of you, except for the fact that people also need to RE-OBTAIN the cape every month atleast.... So no, you can't complete RS. If you obtain that lovely cape and come back in 6 months you will find that there a few more things you need to do yet again to feel like you have "completed" the game. So don't bring up that completionist cape stuff, that is BS

  10. What on earth are you people rambling on and on about. The game HAS BECOME grind based?! If anything it has gone the exact opposite of it. I have been playing this lovely game since 2001 or early 2002, can't really remember when I started with my first account.

If you have not trained your rune pure at black knights in wildy maze or trained your lvl 1(or 10) def pure at wizards or similar activities in RSC then you have no earthly idea what a proper grind is. XP has become so easy to mass, it is ridiculous, it is indeed a far cry from grindy. I remember distinctly when getting 20k strength xp an hour was a GREAT RESULT.

I think the main issue why this topic has been discussed for 5 pages arguing the same point is a difference in generations of players in RS:

    - In early RSC most people who played as myself were young people, exploring the interwebs and its wonders. We didn't really bother with that much xp, because travelling to high wilderness and seeing how people kill greater demons was a huge rush by itself.

    - Now going into RS2 and after that RS3 (EOC RS) a number of players from the early days have remained with RS, but a lot of new youngsters have come in to play.

    - Older players like myself can appreciate the changes the game has gone through and we enjoy the grind without the instant gratification. I also take great pleasure in trying to find the most efficicent methods of doing things in regards to time spent on RS and time/energy spent IRL

    - Younger players have been brought up on instant gratification mentality and the upbrining that the world should and indeed does, revolve around them. (which is not the case by the way. It also is not the player's fault, it is just the way society as a whole has changed over the last 12 years)

    - If you have been playing games like COD and whatnot, it is easy to see how your definition of 'fun' differs from mine. You can easily finish COD on first 3 difficulty levels in a day, 2 days at max. But RS has never been that kind of a game. It is a MMORPG - the game type itself means a lot of time invested, and the time invested grows exponentially, while the actual rewards decreas exponentially

All in all, this is not a discussion of grind vs fun. It is purely a clash of generations, because RS will always have in it's core a huge grind factor. Which is why I enjoy it a lot more than WOW. You can't really complete RS and that is the whole beauty of it to me.

And to all you nay-sayers that RS will die. - No it will not, I have heard it so many times I don't even see these posts anymore.

    OT:

I think it was a wonderful statement from Jagex. Working in a big international corporations, to see a statement acknowledging their mistakes is a miracle beyond finding proof of ETs....

  11. MKF are are very hard to do consistently. You can do PP semi-afk as well, so I would definetly reccomend that.

Use a pharao sceptre, w64 and you can easily expect 130k+ xp/h even while watching shows. IMO PP is a bit of a pain until you get to lvl 81, so tough it up until then - it gets easier. I did it very quickly on my way to all 90+ while watching Dexter. Thieving became one of my favourite skills. Of course, don't expect black ibis clothing. In lvling 73-90 i got 1 piece of boots at lvl 88 or sth.

All in all, I would definitely reccomend PP, because decent xp rates are easy to maintain, as opposed to MKF (carpa tunnel hello!)

  12. Level 80 is barely endgame...

If Nex PvM is not end game monster hunting for you, then I salute you. Because you have found some NPC-s that I have yet to find in RS.

If however you are like me - and haven't found a tougher opponent with better rewards, then I do think Nex qualifies as end game content

  13. I remember this beign discussed somewhere, but i really cbf to scroll. Which adventurer seems to assign ancient bones?

I got rock crushing scrimshaw, but 0 bones, at the same I got 11 plates and some liquor. Haven't seen an ancient bone voyage since like Hook region, but that I failed....

Anyone have any recomenndations which adventurers I should attract for max possibility of double voyage with bones as rewards?

In general POP related discussion - I got all the ship upgrades, my crew is set, except for the fact that I don't have decent captains, I am yet to see a 10k chimes captain. About 60% into Scythe, with a shitton of goods and all available port/ship/crew upgrades done.

  14. I think the chaotic addition to claws is a good step. I personally can't wait to see an addition to the spear as well. I would also like to see a one hand chaotic crush weapon to fill in the wholes in that tier.

Other than these comments I'm keeping my mouth shut on the issue. It seems that a large amount of the community is whimpering and moaning - if not that, then they are trying to tear down someone else's viewpoints.

I'm here regardless of what they do. So long as there is interesting gameplay I have little else to say.

I get the feeling that you wouldn't criticise Jagex even if they decided to wipe your stats and delete your bank.

As much as I usually agree with your views it's getting tiresome to see that you somehow think yourself better than others for not uttering a bad word about Jagex.

If you love them, that's fine, but snide remarks about people that have genuine gripes with the game is just petty.

I get the feeling a lot of the fan base are whining little [bleep]es. I think making the armour increase exponentially is an awesome idea and should have been done ages ago. There is no reason for Nex or GWD to be available for people without the appropriate gear/skills. And GWD is not supposed to be soloable in barrows/dragon gear.

To me it seems that's all they're doing, they will make higher end content actually a bit more difficult - this has been long overdue. My personal best in bandos GWD was more than 600 kc solo in barrows gear, that is hardly the way it should be and even tho I don't have the money nor the love of grinding to get nex' sets i am happy they are getting rebuffed.

That is after all the whole point of end game content - to aim it at people who have reached end game content... Well done Jagex, I salute thee (brb with TETSU armour, see ya at nex)

  15. I'm at around 30%, unlocked all of the cherrywood ship upgrades, what really bugs me is the need to go get that freakin bamboo from Arc. But meh, I'll unlock them all when I do, got 4 scrolls, but 0 bone voyages so far, so that's gonna be some time before I can actually use them.

  16. Manually switched off tutorial mode.

    what?

    14k construction xp - 94 lvl

    6k slayer xp - 97 lvl

For all 4 statues only 14k constr xp? If that is the case that is a big dissapointment in my opinion. A monthly DD should give something around troll invasion xp in my mind. If it is 14k per statue it is not great either, but it's decent I guess if the DD is very short.

  17. I don't think the question is the 5k games in itself.

These players did not bot 5k CW games exclusively, they botted a lot if not most of their skills. It's not like you get to 2496 legit, and then say - [bleep] it im gonna bot the 5k games cause [bleep] the police.

So all of this talk of the 5k CW games is pointless to say the least.
