  1. No its not. How are bots considered an online player if the player is not playing because an automated robot is doing his tasks? How does a robot count as a real player? The issue here is we cannot accurately say who is and is not a bot. Plus, as previously mentioned bots in main game have DROPPED recently whilst bots in 07scape have INCREASED - therefore if you do want to exclude bots in rough rounding it'd push 07scape further away from main game. Plus I'd argue even bots show popularity to an extent: If the game is popular then lazy folks will bot to be 'good' at it or buy produce from bots. Their existence marks an inherent popularity necessary for people to bother coding and using them. But this is getting wildly off-topic. This is not a debate of whose game is better, this is a thread to discuss RS3. My point is: The online players count is really skewed for EOC. And let's just say we are in a perfect world and there are not bots. It still doesn't erase the fact that the player count for EOCscape will ALWAYS be greater due to the fact that they include FTP players. As of right now, members to members, OSR has more players. Back on topic. I think it's pretty pre-mature to get into RS3 since a lot of people are still hooked on RS2... I think the difference between RSC and RS2 were overwhelming and that caused people to move on. I don't consider the updates we will see in RS3 that major. You could easily incorporate all that into RS2 as they did with EOC. One thing I'm looking forward to is HTML5 hopefully destroying botting for good.

Can you prove to me that bots have dropped on EOC scape? I won't argue that bots on 07scape have increased as it IS evident.
  3. So with your logic, if 100k bots are on OSR then it's MUCH more popular than EOC scape that has 40k REAL members?

  5. Uh that counts the FTP players as well for EOC scape where as OSR are all paid members. I just did a quick count of the FTP players currently online as well and here's my break down: Average PTP OSR members: 50000 Average FTP EOC members based on my count: 17500 Average PTP EOC members: 47000 So you have 47k "members" on EOCscape right? Well don't forget that number is severly inflated due to free trial accounts which are made up of spam bots and botters. I would put that number @ 35k-40k and I believe I'm being generous. So in reality you have maybe 40k true members playing EOC scape and around 50k true members playing OSR (as of right now).
  6. I have no membership as well but I can still play OSR.
  7. Both. So normally you would just open up the Old School Runescape home page, gets the playercount number, then you minus it from the RS main page and you get an idea of each games corrosponding playercount.
  8. Agreed. Though I 100% believe that they will release it to free to players sooner or later.
  9. Bravo, Jagex! See how the game does then charge people. If it dies out, charge peope.
  10. They've also repeatedly said that they wouldn't make a 2006/7/8 server. True. I guess Jagex does suffer from some sort of bipolar disorder. They could be saying that just to get more people to subscribe and vote so we can close in on the tier.
  11. Jagex had repeatedly said on their live Q&A that they will not make any seperate membership fees...
  12. To be honest with everyone, I know were all playing on P2P servers but I'm just finding my self in F2P areas more. All my work is being done in Varrock, Lumby, and Al-Kharid. Side note: I also think a new trend is starting here; yesterday the 2007 servers had more players online than the EoC servers at one point, and also today for the most part, the 2007 servers averaged more players than the EoC servers. Edit: @Above post Yeah that's true. Jagex needs to continue to monitor the activity first before they should announce anything.
  13. I think Jagex should offer one month free for 2007scape only to Free to Players. That way they could convince skeptical people that quit and don't want to purchase membership to vote.
  14. That was certainly an incredible amount of effort you put in there. Bro, how's he supposed to play RS without using the scroll-button?
  15. If i'm not mistaken, the old thing Jagex did to interfere, was increase the awareness of the 2007scape poll and release the game early?
  16. I think people were projecting the votes the wrong way. Instead of projecting the votes to decay, I actually expect the votes to increase before the deadline. You would have last minute ushers subscribing and voting right? People would be rushing around and making sure their old friends come back and vote... I expect the votes % to stay steady if not increase. Anywho, more than likely we probably would need a boost from Jagex. Dang, I was browsing the previous pages and some guy was projecting 204k votes lol.
  17. Yeah, that's 100% true. The fact you have 50k members playing 07scape is really astonishing.
  18. Huh? Date: 2013-02-26 22:30:00 Live Users: 53,122 [50.19%] 2007 Users: 52,714 [49.81%]
