  1. Nice to see some true veterans around. I myself started in 2001 and loved the game, it was really nice to come home from school to relax on it. My name on it was Josh683, was one of the first to mine rune ore and a 99 level fisher. I loved that adrenaline rush of PKing was grand. Had a friend who was one of those guys who would show up to school and say, got another R2H, he just had a natural talent at PKing. He even show me during lunch breaks to prove it, amazing haha. Fondest memory was getting members and adventuring over white wolf mountain, back then I was probably at a level where I couldn't actually defeat the wolves so I remember waiting for others to venture over so I could sneak past one wolf at a time while they distracted it, or just make big runs for it with a bag full of lobsters hahaha. Epic times... I played into RS2 but wasn't fond of the new graphics and jerky performance of it. The classic style armour is still the best looking in my opinion. Nothing beats the look of a rune large and the colour of it in classic. one big thing I have to note which I think slips a lot of peoples minds is that back in the early 00's people were not particularly high levels like you see now with everyone at 99 everything. Like bluerose13x for example, was the only person who could smith an R2H so it was much more exciting to come across those items because of how rare they were. Seeing a high level player and hitting screenshot a million times to show your friends was exciting too or seeing a Jagex mod log in on your friends list haha I mean a true mod like Andrew or Paul, not a player mod. I became good friends with Mod Bernard after he was checking on my mining to see if I was auto mining outside of falador (iron rocks) on a free server. Anyway, the game was great but couldn't be again unless they did what they did with RS2007 and made everyone start again on classic. They would have to improve the resolution because back then on my 15" screen running at 800x600 it was quite large, these days, not so much. Maybe make it a true 3d game but keep the same look and feel. I bet if I can imagine in my head what that would look like, it would have everyone joining. Fresh start for all players. I remember checking the highscores each day and I would be in at least 6 categories for them even as a lvl 40, was enjoyable. Another thing, fatigue ruined the game a lot, keeping the game simple is for the best like right now RS3 you log in you get about 16 pop ups trying to sell you in game expenses and stuff you care not for, so much content that you would need two brains for 4 years to learn. I remember I went back to go Pking about 5 or so years ago and my friend was like im never going members, I have no idea what tricks people can do there now, would get one hit, at least on free I know what is going on. Dragon kind of ruined the game because it made smithing useless. You could buy dragon swords, axes from a vendor for dead cheap (even in RSC currency) which made all that expensive hard worked smithing levels go to waste. I think Jagex should have raised the level cap for skills past 99 once they figured out that that distant planet of a goal was actually being achieved because that distant goal was part of the fun knowing that maybe someone might get there and open up a whole new bag of candy and excitement for the player base. Also in RS2 and above, running is annoying. People are going to shoot me for this but in RSC, catching was awesome with that diagonal move, so much skill involved outside of the character levels. Everyone took the same amount of time to get from A to B. It made the game feel a bit more like a 2nd life instead of an arcade shooter. Maybe this is just my nostalgia having a cry but that is what made the game so amazing for me. I remember saying when I was 14, gosh I am going to play this game until I die, but yah I quit about 4 years later haha. I quit because of RS2 I think, I even gave away 3 party hats, 6 santa hats, and 9 masks (3 of each colour) to a friend of mine I didn't know IRL. Anyway, if anyone knew me in game (Josh683) give me a shout, would be fun to chat PS - Remember the excitement of seeing a pile under you after a PK that contained a Rune 2 Hander compared to the oh another dragon sword PK. R2h 1 million, Dragon sword 100K. Rune 2H would be more like 2 billion in RS3 economy judging by how rare it was back then. Dragon sword... still 100k. Economy is ruined and nothing is exciting anymore because everyone has everything and highest levels. What reason is there to play once you have 99 Everything? I bet a lot of people hit 99 everything and get depressed realising how much of their life they have used to get there only to find now there is nothing to do and the game is useless to them. Originally Jagex planned the 99 exp points to be impossible to achieve (I remember reading this in a post made by Andrew in an interview) making the game always something to do and shoot for. You can't just make everyone start over fresh, you need a new game which is where I think a remake of classic with todays technology would be a good idea. Make the skill levels go higher or adjust the exp so that it really is almost impossible to get 99. Ok I'm done!
