  1. Whoa whoa whoa

What is there in the game besides Nex/torstol unf pots that can possibly make 5m an hour?

    I lol'd at torstol unf's.

On topic: Stockpiling extremes should only be done if the money spent does not interfere with gear upgrades/merching. Additionally, if you do not value exp past 99, it would be best to make extremes to level, as anything else is a waste.

    Bones: I'm not sure where you're getting your gp/xp figures, but brews aren't 15 gp/xp ;)

  2. This might still work, so try trapping them behind Jad by running through him.

Hit each of them then run through Jad? I was under the impression that they heal jad if they are within 3 spaces of him...

  3. So, I just died at Jad. I was using the deflect method to kill him. I did not hit jad with anything except deflects, and the healers still spawned? I assume that they have fixed the deflects not spawning them.....

Anyway, I've tried killing jad traditionally before, but the healers always seem to kill me. What's the best way to dispatch these little bastards?

  4. Rapier has been shown to be equal to CLS in the only place that was still heavily debated: Bandos.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebSJZKHF9Ok

Rapier is the right choice :)

Too bad the sample size in your "evidence" is terribly small.

Since you insist on beating a dead horse, Levon has gathered several thousand points of data comparing cr/cls at bandos. CLS is superior to cr on graador by roughly 2dps.

Cr still the right choice for slaying.... Why are these threads not instantly deleted, when there is 86 pages in metagame discussing this topic... >_<

  5. Firstly, some of the previous posts offer false information.

    1. As fire mentioned, C1's, are much slower. I'd say that they're roughly 75% of the speed compared to a VERY slow w117 team (at around your dg level). If you have a couple people that know how to dg, c1's are comparatively trash.

    2. I'm unaware of an exact drop rate. It varies largely. Some people have gotten before 70 dg and others have 5+ million exp before it drops.

    3. Use the lowest gp/xp potion until you can makes super antis/extremes. Stew if you wish. Grimy's spreadsheets are excellent for this purpose. Xp/gp ratios tend to change daily.

    4. If you don't have a third bind unlocked, use a 2h. Period.

    5. KBD/Mole. You can do a couple of GWD bosses in a larger group, however you won't make any money.

  6. Seems like everything is crashing to me. Is a solid item one that has a flat graph like a rune scim? or is it one that just isn't crashing hard/going up a lot?

That's a stable item, it's possible to make some profit off things like that but not a whole lot. I tried that with rune platebodies, which have a 100 at a time limit. Took forever to fill, longer to sell, and only like ~20k profit or so. Not exactly the road to riches (or Turmoil) I was looking for. :shame:

While this statement is true, it's not exactly the reason why items such as rune scimitars aren't very profitable. Generally speaking, f2p armors and weapons hang around the high alch mark. Since so many people love to alch, the profit margins on these items are always terrible. It is for those reasons that these items should be avoided.

I have found that using charts, in reference to flipping, is largely ineffective. If you were trying to gauge a item to invest in (long term), charts may prove to be useful. Since flipping should be instantaneous (or as close to instantaneous as possible), long term trends are irrelevant. You should instead focus on searching for items that have a decent profit margin and have a high turnover rate. Niche items' prices may change constantly. It's important to check prices frequently.

  7. Seems like everything is crashing to me. Is a solid item one that has a flat graph like a rune scim? or is it one that just isn't crashing hard/going up a lot?

You have to find items for yourself, as previously stated. Items that people flip only make money because they aren't flipped by many.

  8. I don't see why so many people think that this is an issue. It's a bit presumptuous to link this to MT. There currently is no "trend" despite whatever biased evidence you have suggested. Bonus items like this are very common across the industry, and it's a bit naive to assume that jagex shouldn't use them as well.

The item in question does not impact the game in any great way. While the bonuses are higher than anything currently existing, most member accounts use higher than steel weaponry. Additionally this has no impact on pking (which IMO should be the only complaints aimed at the advantage). Additionally, it is a far leap to say that there will be items on par with gear that costs more than 1k coins.

After reading this entire thread, two types of posters come to mind:

    1. Those who frankly don't give a damn.

    2. Those who wish to voice other grievances through speculation.

  9. binary passwords lol, I like it

Interestingly, the biggest fault in these "how secure is your password" calculations is they assume people know how LONG your password is. I could have a password of "." and it's just as secure as a hundred letter chain simply because it is still just 1 possible combination, just as "YoudOnTspEllT3hasT3hunlessYouusedToSayTehLots!!!1!!1!" is just one combination. if every brute forcer was going to start with every 1 letter combination first then yes it's very bad, but do they start with 1 because it's easy? do they start with 5 because it's common? It's not only about the security of your password, but of all passwords possible.

As for your pc security: don't get complacent thinking you are secure. I run 2 (good) antispywares and a decent antivirus, do regular manual checks in key locations, registry and process checks, and I knew more about computers 15 years ago than most will know in their lives. Even I get something breaking through sometimes, it just means I'm much better equipped to deal with it before it becomes a problem. The last 2 major ones i had, believe it or not, came in through microsoft update (they arent 100% secure either and they have more resources than me), and being a microsoft product when the antispywares tried to stop it the windows defender decided that the antispywares were a threat and killed them. I was lucky enough to notice it real time (first thing I did was pull out the network cable and go standalone) and I was lucky to be able to fight it off but it does happen. I had a friend who was less lucky: swore blindly his Norton 360 said he was clean. After much bullying and getting some antispywares that were actually worth their binary he turned out to have 74 different spywares. Never trust a single antispyware fully: there are more people writting malicious code than are writing defensive code. In this age where we have increasingly powerful PCs (except for you laptop users) it is worth the tiny performance impact to have that extra layer of protection

I had spyware come through a windows update as well. Luckily, most of the programs that target RS are very rudimentary. It's fairly hard to be compromised.

  10. ZMI via Ourania teleport.

How much faster is it? If you know that?

    I don't, but here's a chart of levels/xp/profit if that helps at all http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Pay-to-play_Runecrafting_Training#Alternatively

K thx, guess I'll try it out then , Fire Runecrafting with duelings is like watching paint dry it's the most boring [cabbage] in the world :D FML how can people even reach 99 in this boring skill is beyond me :D

Which is why most people use effigies.

  11. Stating that "common knowledge" should have to be proven at every turn is simply redundant.

Everyone knows that washing your hands will reduce rates of infection and illness, yet most people cannot explain the mechanism of action of soap. Many cannot understand how bacteria and viruses infect cells and cause illness. Why is it that every time someone learns to wash their hands this information is not offered? I'm sure many adults simply are ignorant in large areas regarding this, however they still wash their hands. Why is this? Common knowledge.

Using this example, people may be provided with all of the scientific evidence, however this would waste time of both parties. Most people will not read the information, and simply accept the fact that handwashing works.

Issues such as the one previously described can be applied in this instance. There are VAST amounts of research that HAVE been conducted. It wastes the time of the poster to drag up specific research to every topic. The majority of posters who seek an answer seem to be indifferent regarding the source of the information. They seem simply to seek the answer (handwashing works).

If a poster is that inquisitive, then they will seek out/conduct the research themselves.

  12. Saying that "I don't know better" is comparable to saying "I wasn't aware of that law". It doesn't hold up IRL, why should it in RS?

Bottom line: Anyone can feign ignorance, but those who truly wish to learn will take the initiative.

  13. so far no luck finding anyone with gilded altar. Also how do I do it? I have never done it before, I know I need to have marentills, but no idea how many and I think I can use my Bob to carry extra bones, either way, I only have 1950 drag bones in bank, I dont think that is enough to get me from 79-83

To calculate how many bones you need go here: http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=prayer_calc.htm

You can build a guilded altar at level 75 (72 using cups from teak shelves) construction. http://www.tip.it/runescape/construction_table.php?table=Chapel

  14. So, someone mentioned that the horde of bots mining pure essence behind varrock east were gone. Needless to say, I had a look for myself. I checked several f2p/p2p (including world 1) servers and I found less than 5 toons doing essence runs. Did something happen that I'm missing? Comments?
