  1. If you have patience, and can sit grind away for money, you can make steel bars for profit, or you can also try mining coal, or fishing lobsters.

Otherwise, you can stick to regular monster hunting, lesser demons, ankous, cockroach soldiers (though I don't know how effectively you can kill them with your stats).

    ~Dan

    Yty..

i was specifically asking for speed though

  2. Hi guys,

I prefer not to make these threads, but I have been wondering what the best F2P method of money making is.

    rsstats.png

I've got a few mil at my disposal so I don't have to worry about initial resources.

What would be the best way and how much k/h does it give?

  3. Are you sure mithril is a good way? In theory it works, but I have a hard time selling them

    ----

    EDIT:

I was incorrect. Mithral bars do sell easily around and above 1800gp. My only annoying factor is getting the mithril ore, and getting it cheap enough

  4. Based on the current GE prices:

xp/gp xp/log GE price rel. speed rel. cost rel speed*cost
    Willow 11.25 90 8 1.5 0.34 0.51 (most gp per xp)
    Maple 3.86 135 35 1 1 1
    Teak 1.35 105 78 1.29 2.86 3.68
    Yew 0.435 202.5 465 0.66 8.87 5.92
    Magic 0.22 303.8 1397 0.44 17.5 7.80 (most xp per log)

    (rel. values: lower is better)

So willow is three times cheaper xp then maple, but it will take 50% more time to burn them. Magic is over 2 times faster but it's 17.5 times more expensive.

An attempt to minimize time AND cost, willow is still the most efficient.

Of course I left out a few minor factors. Also the final efficiency takes into account that the speed at which you burn is much higher then the speed at which you gain money

  5. Soul runes are dropped by monsters sometimes. Mainly the mages I believe. (There's no way to smuggle them, or any other item for that matter, into the dungeons)

Yes there is. I don't know how it's done (i presume by trading the item at some time during entering). Anyway- that's good to know. I'll exclude these spells from the calculations.

Anyway the first results are in: magic and range are currently by far the best xp/gp with sometimes even more then 1 xp per gp.

I myself get around 100k gold each dungeon. For magic I would - in theory - at my level - be able to recieve 103k magic experience, 67k constitution xp and some runecrafting xp with minimal limitations. For range the xp is at almost the same rate (without the rc xp ofc).

For other skills the xp:gp rate is 0.17 at it's highest - still worth it.

Normal skilling should take into account the following raw formula: xp gained / ( time to raise money + time to skill)

For dungeoneering the time to raise money is a lot lower and often the time to skill is too. Only the xp gained is lower. I'm positive that compared to normal skilling some dungeoneering methods are better - especially for f2p

  6. Hiya,

Im calculating the best ways to spend a solo dungeoneer's money. If you don't care about racing for your dungeon xp I often take all the time to check in my coins into xp.

Now for magic I have a few questions, since I don't have access to many features or cannot make all runes. Can someone tell me if the following spells can be cast repeatedly?

Bones To Bananas (if there are no bones)

Cure Other (can these three be cast at full health?)

    Cure Me

    Cure Group

Monster examine (from a safe spot, eg another room

Humidify (if there are no vials)

Vengeance other (if there is a cooldown, how long is it?)

    Vengeance (ditto)

Any of the battle spells (snare, stun etc.. on the same target)

And last: are all spell xp rates from the guide correct? 65 xp for high alch seems a bit high (and appears most profitable in my calculations)

    http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?page=dungeoneering_skills.htm#magic

If anyone who can edit the article is reading this, I'm pretty sure that Create Gatestone DOES give xp.. some 43 or 37 ish

EDIT: how come vulnerability, stun and enfeeble are on the magic list, while SOUL runes cannot be used in daem? (unless smuggled inside..)

-> Apparenly sould runes are a monster drop

  7. Crew, some friends and myself are working on finding distinct weaknesses for each monster. Our research is going well, because as you pointed out, attack styles and the combat triangle are very important in Daemonheim.

Thank you. I know defence percentages are already known on some monsters (here or on wikia - i forgot) so I know it's possible to know the exact numbers. Not really sure how to test it though. But any information would be very helpful to the advanced bestiary imo.

(Also note that jagex once said that an npc with armour equipped would have the exact stats as a player with that armour - difficult to tell with skeletons and hydra, but the warriors probably have roughly those stats)

  8. You do realise the floors are random and within their themed area ANY monster can turn up on ANY floor and that their level varies depending on floor, dungeoneering level, teams combat stats and what else is in the room?

For example soloing on floor 10 or so I get some rooms with like 5 monsters in but they are all lvl 10 - 20 ish. Another room with 1 enemy it will be cranked up to lvl 120.

On floor 1 since reseting I've had a lvl 154 boss

Of course.. But the LEVEL of a monster does not affect it's weakness does it? I mean a skeleton that is very fragile to crush at level 78 isn't suddenly more resistant to it at level 10?

And with "for each floor" I mean for each theme. There is a specific set of monsters (bat/skeleton/giant/..) for each 5 floors.

  9. Since the combat triangle has been reforged for Daemoheim the combat triangle has proven much more effective here. Also the attack type has a larger effect on monsters and yourself inside. I hear everyone talking about it (spear is best because you can use every style etc..) but when do you use what attack style?

I would like to request a more advanced guide with a list of each monster per floor, their strength and especially their weakness, what type of damage they do and maybe even how to pray against them. This would help many players understand more of the general influence of combat styles.

  10. Oh my... terrible event!! You have to do everything exactly according to plan and it's not stated what you have to do next. After feeding the bird i was completely lost oh where junior went - apparently he was standing next to me!

Now i'm on the part of catching the implings. I've found all five, but it took me almost an HOUR to figure out i have to put them in the egg paining machine! =/ Nobody told me.. (Ok, apparently there's a quest log - i forgot)

Anyway - the reward is lousy too. A non-orange carrot that does exactly the same as our previous easter rewards? NTY.. We don't need any weapons. I'd love to see event pants, shoes, gloves, rings or amulets. Or something entirely different(? - i'm thinking of previous winter event..)

Found a bug: Normally you can't trade other persons in the event dungeon (the option is gone) - somehow when i relogged, i can trade anyone again! ^^

  11. I am sure I have never seen this before:

    88868737jm1.th.png

This showed when my noob account died.

Thats been there for a looooooooooong time, I think it has something to do with you being a certain low level and dieing for the first time.

Not just for the first time either.

Never seen that.. then again - no begging pl0x?

  12. Why does everyone say its the first F2P hood?

I AM complaining, I wanted a cape or something - I always have a hood.

    What about:

    RANDOM

    -lumberjack hood

-mime mask (I want one I want one!)

    -..?

    EVENT

    -chicken head (previous easter)

    -skeleton mask (previous halloween)

-Jack lantern mask (on the same day as skeleton mask :s )

-Christmas hats (FIVE of m, all useless - worst christmas event for me)

    -reindeer hat

    DROP

    -christmas hats

    -halloween masks

-bunny ears (first untradable :'( And I almost had one)

    -santa hat

And this is supposed to be the first??

What I really want: (since we cant get advantages above other ppl)

    -a cape

(where you can change the color/sign/trim by menu?)

-something usable where you CAN move

(not like the broom, altough the easter ring was pretty nice)

-something fun with a lot of options like the yo-yo

-something you can put on your axe, pickaxe, weapon .. so it has another skin

    (removable and re-usable)

-sparklers (you can wear in your ring spot or turn on and off in your inventory) that you can move around with

EDIT: I am F2P, and I've been f2p for over 6 years (I started in the first month, and yes - I did pickup a few crackers)

  13. Easy, and Its strange KDE gets this, becouse I know GNOME has it too much to be healthy - the thing is, it generates the screenshot while the screen is changing, piece by piece. Thats why one piece got yellow and the other piece red (but that would only work if you used flash: or glow:)

    ::'

  14.

I must say I highly doubt Dutch will be the next language beta released.

Considering Runescape is widely known in Holland, growth opportunities here are a lot smaller then they are in Germany, France and Spain, just to give a few examples. As a company, Jagex is interested in making profit, and creating extra growth opportunities in countries where Runescape isn't played as much is much more interesting for them then giving people who are playing anyway just a little extra.

To add, I am Dutch, and I wouldnt play rs in my own language anyway, because I know it would mostly attract the little kids that greatly annoy me by spelling about every single word wrong, next to the fact that I find an international community in a English language server far more pleasant then one of only Dutch people, as I feel that most Dutch kids are arrogant, can't handle critisism and only care about themselves.

My bet is on either a French or a Spanish version next, and I do hope that the German beta will be opened up to everyone soon, I'd love to walk around to see how they translated everything.

I can't agree more with you!

Same here, his post should be stickied :XD: :anxious:

jk but I do hope we wont have to wait another year for other versions (especially French) to come out.

I suggest just dont translate.. If they want to play, they gotta take own responsability on understaning.

Ohe one extra argument: in one of the news articles - a few years ago, i think 2003> - a teacher sent a mail to jagex to tell how good runescape was for her class to learn english <-- I completely agree, with rs in english I learned a lot. Other kids should do that too.
