Nice idea, but I think the Broadsword should have a bit higher strength bonus and also carry a penalty to prayer, after all... It's a cursed weapon from a lord of death.
I also think the Harp should last more than 100. Perhaps like 250.
Lol...did you read the suggestion? I almost don't even want to point out why I think this, to see if you can figure it out...but I guess I'll tell you.
The broadsword has a -2 Prayer bonus. This was how I made it when i first suggested it. It since then has not been changed or edited. How you missed it, I have no idea.
And also, it's a Violin, not a harp. And I don't think 250 is good. The reason I made it 100 is so they aren't as easily camped at. You will either need to bring multiple violins, or bank to get another one.
I'm not trying to be mean or jerkish...it's just like...how did you miss that stuff if you purposely singled them out and made comments about them? :|

Ok, I seriously laughed out loud for real during this when it gets to the "phree st00f!!!1" line. Just watch and see:

How about perhaps making the broadsword rarer off task than it is while on task?
That would stop them flooding the market and making them cheap.
Not needed, and I am not a fan of making items rarer off task and more common on task. I think that for those of us with 99 Slayer that's very unfair.
Also, there will be a high demand for these. Anyone now who owns an Abyssal Whip will eventually want to upgrade to a skeletal broadsword, and that is a LOT of people. It will eventually drop to about 5m though, but not for a long while.
There will be a high demand, thus, they will be camped like mad(Even if so few players can kill them), causing a surge into the market which is basically unpreventable, causing this to become the new whip, and the whip to become an outdated item.
Of course, this is what will happen to all armour in this game eventually, but by making less of an item come into circulation, I think that the whip will still be used and retain a decent price for a long time.
The reason I want the whip to remain at a decent price, is because abyssal demons will be a horrible task without a rare drop.
Basically, I don't want to create another useless weapon.
I don't know what kind of system could be put into effect, but maybe only have it drop the item at the same rate when you get level 97 slayer or something?
The whip, as it is, is inflated. It was at 1.5M for the longest time. If this were released, the whip would not drop below the 1.5m mark, I assure you. Think of the whip as a welfare item. Once the broadsword is released, most people will want it over the whip, but whether the average runescape player can cough up an extra 3.5M for it is another story. And even then, I say 5m because it will most likely stabalize there. Upon release it will be 10M, and will definitely rise. The "average" scaper won't be able to afford it.
This will skyrocket. I plan on it to. And anyway, no offense, but Abyssal Demons at 85 Slayer shouldn't even be close profit wise to level 95 monsters. I firmly believe the whip won't drop past 1.5M. The broadsword isn't SO much better than the whip that it would cause people to completely abandon the whip.

Why is this over a third more powerful than rune defenders? Can't you figure out some simple math to see what the upgraded stats really should be? If I were to wager a guess, the stats should be over +25 attack bonus.

Anti-support, and for the same reasons everyone else has already given you. Just make skillcapes for f2p skills available to f2p players. 85 isn't that much of an achievement, even on members. Trust me.
We want to give f2p updates, but there's no need to give them a cape that only they can have. All that's going to do is persuade more people to stay free players, which is anti-productive to the whole "wanting to make money," thing. lol.

W00T!
I got my wish for a summoning obelisk in the house. Pets menagerie should free up some space too. =D>
Can you put in the Brovar pig thingy?
Broav, and yes.
-
Also, supposibly it is confirmed in knowledge base that you get more xp per log now.
Also, only 1 Menagrie
This is true...sort of. If you build and destroy the pet houses you can earn +5 more exp from each type of plank than you would building anything else. So 65 per Oak Plank, 95 per Teak Plank and 145 per Mahogany plank.
I honestly don't think it'll revolutionize anything. It would be deadly slow to use this as a means of training for only a mere 5 more exp a plank.

Here's what I mean about the pets wandering wherever:
-
Here you go:
[hide=Garden Habitat][/hide]
[hide=Jungle Habitat][/hide]
[hide=Desert Habitat][/hide]
[hide=Winter Habitat][/hide]
[hide=Volcanic Habitat][/hide]
Also as a note, your pets can wander outside of the habitat room if you don't have walls of other rooms surrounding it. Currently my pets can literally wander ANYWHERE outside my house on the grass areas. lol.

Despite theteleport glitch in the house thing, here is a volcanic environment:

Ok, so since snapdragon seeds epically failed on me by dropping in price slightly (I farmed 100 of them and only made 500k of the profit I would have made without them dropping) I decided to invest my cashpile of 56M into 99 Farming. I've been lusting after this 99 for a while but never really had the funds or the balls to REALLY go after it. Now I am.
I ended up buying 2,400 Watermelon Seed, 100 Magic Seeds, 100 Palm Tree Seeds, 400 Torstol Seeds and 20 Calquat Seeds. With this I bought enough Supercompost to get me through what I need.
This is how I plan on getting 99 Farming, as simply ploughing through these seeds I have bought will not be enough:
I will do the tree seeds like normal. Pay for the farmers to watch them and when they are done I will harvest their yield to minimise loss per seed. This means on average I should get about 9 Coconuts per Palm Tree Seed (900 Coconuts) and anywhere from 20-50k gp back on each Magic Tree. In total, off my trees I should make back around 3-7M gp. Not much considering how much I spent on them, but this is the price you pay for fast leveling.
Now, I am also doing Watermelon and Torstol Seeds. These are where the money back will come in more. For each Torstol Seed I should make back an average of about 16,000 gp. This means for 400 Torstol seeds I should expect about 6.4M back. Then, for each 24 Watermelon seeds I intend to create 60 Supercompost buckets with watermelon fruits I harvest. This means for every 24 seeds I will make back about 40,000 gp in supercompost, or 4M for 2,400 seeds. This doesn't include leftover watermelon fruits, which should sell at around 150 gp each.
In total, for the first "run-through" of seeds I plan to make back near 15-20M gp. Most likely I will then use that strictly to buy more torstol and watermelon seeds. Once 99 farming is achieved, I will most definitely be completely out of cash, but I will have yet another 99 goal completed.
If anyone decides to tell me that I'm doing something unefficiently, by all means, say it...but I'm sticking to this plan. =-p

Really, then why is all the monsters mostly demons, goblins or beasts?
Just because there is human player characters everywhere does not mean that's only option. Also, a race character can have restrictions:
1) You have to turn back into Human for a quest?
2) You can't do skills, Firemaking, cooking, agility, fishing, woodcutting etc (Depending if Jagex bother to do animation for the skills or not)
Even so, if you like Human character then choose that! Infact Human race gets according to my idea +1 more prayer point every minute. That's really good!
But it's so selfish to say "Nuff said." because that's indirectly saying "I want all characters to be human race, because that's how I want it"...
Every considered some other players wants to maybe have variety?
You missed his point entirely. Runescape is the game that doesn't have playable races for characters. And even if you could change races for 100,000 gp each (totally NOT worth the change of race, in my opinion. What if I am a dwarf and am training mining and smithing but need to go farm my herbs?) this is still a god awful idea in the sense that
A.) It is not needed. This is a prime example of wanting to fix or update something that is MORE than fine the way it is.
B.) It is far too complicated and would be one of the largest projects Runescape has come up against to date. This idea in itself is NOT worth the human resources it would take to develope. Meanwhile, all the other updates would need to be pushed to the side or given less attention.
and C.) It's just another way to make things more complicated. The reason I like Runescape is because while there are tasks that require strategy, the main game itself is quite simple. If we keep building to make the game more and more complicated, it's going to scare away a lot of newer players. Runescape is pretty "new player-friendly" right now, and that's why it's one of the fastest growing online games now. I tried playing WoW but I didn't make it past the 1 hour mark for three reasons:
1. Too complicated right off the bat. It doesn't really ease you into gaming like RS does.
2. Even with my computer's specs it was still lagging my system.
and 3. You have to choose your character which means that you don't get the opportunity to train everything. You miss out on certain aspects of the game. Even if this isn't really the case, this is what I was led to believe by starting up the game. new players to runescape could feel this way if races were added, and it could turn them away.
I don't know. To each his own, but I am so so SOOO strongly against this idea to the point where not only will I not support it, but I will petition against it.
EDIT - What the hell is up with the tags? Why aren't they working?
-
I like the "idea," as well. I just don't like his lack of detail within his suggestion.
And anyway, it's not like this hasn't been suggested before. This exact same suggestion comes up every month or so, and most people before this guy gave examples for all skills, not just a simple few. It's like saying, "Jagex, fix ! I don't really know HOW you'll fix it, but do it now!"
-
I still agree with Quelmotz. Even if there aren't guidelines for these forums, there should be. It's the reason we keep getting crap suggestions.
I may as well go create a thread that's titled, "New Potions," and inside the only text reads, "I suggest we get new potions for level 75 and 76 called Super Ranged and Super Magic Pots. These will boost your ranged and magic levels by 20% for ranged and +10 for magic. Anyone support?"
How lame and what a waste of time to read. If you have a suggestion THAT simple that cannot possibly be elborated on more than that, just don't post it. It's really not of quality enough to post here and get a rally of tifers to agree with it. Just post it in the RSOF and have Jagex see it.
However, this is an idea that CAN be elaborated on, but the original poster just got lazy or unimaginative and decided to leave it open, which I find to be insulting. You want me to come here and help to create your original idea? No. If you give me specfics in detail then I will give constructive criticism, but I don't want to come here and start giving you effects for skill cape ideas. That's your job. I am here to help support your idea, which I very well won't do if you don't give me enough information or incentive to do so.

If it is going to be the new weapon of choice it should have better stats than that.
When i take a second look at it, he's right. its barley better than whip in the melee department, other than spec.
+90 slash perhaps?
I think +4 attack, +4 strength and +14 magic defense is quite a lot, even if the person who owns it NEVER uses it for magic attack. The thing you've got to remember is the +14 magic defense. On any task that requires you to kill a monster that attacks with magic, such as Bloodvelds, Aberrant Spectres, Infernal Mages, Spiritual Mages, etc...this will revolutionize that. It's quite a large amount of magic defense to add onto someone who's meleeing and not ranging or maging.
With that said, let me think about it. If I raise it, it will only be slight...maybe +88 in slash attack and strength. Also keep in mind this weapon has the strongest stab bonus, if I recall correctly, and that will make it great at Corporeal Beasts. (I think zamorakian spear might beat it in stab, but that is two handed, and this is one.)

No. I don't agree with this at all. Part of Runescape that makes it different from WoW is that we all are the same race of characters, and actually, if you pay attention to quests, you'll know that ultimately we all are the same person. We are this human being destined to do something great in Guthix's ultimate plan. If you change the race we are, then it's going to change a LOT of quest details, and I don't think that's a smart move on anyone's part.
So no. You get a large thumbs down from me on this thought. :thumbdown: :|

No support from me for two reasons:
1. Your ideas are overpowered, and as people have said, 99 should not be lightyears more useful than 98. Find a way to give only a slight extra boost, like, say, at 99 Hit Points you naturally restore hp 1.5x faster than usual. Not a HUGE gain, but slight and helpful.
and 2. Your idea is incomplete. One of the most annoying things to me is reading other people's suggestions only to find out they haven't thought it through. No, I'm sorry, I came here to read your suggestion, not to help you complete one with my imput. Give me the boosts for all 24 Level 99 skills and then we can start somewhere.
Why? The concept is more important. And it's there: give 99's an extra feature. The examples are not relevant. I'm sure Jagex can come up with something that keeps the game balanced.
Because the vague suggestion of "Give 99s an extra feature," doesn't really leave us anywhere. If all he wanted was to suggest that, then why waste the time here? Just post it on the RSOF, or don't bother giving examples at all. But the thing is, the examples are very, very relevant. Without him creating examples for every skill, we have no idea what he is really suggesting.
If you leave Jagex to come up with everything, without showing them what we really want in detail, we're just going to keep getting the crap updates we've been getting. True, they won't take ideas and carbon copy them into the game, but if you give them a firm base of suggestion then they have something to work with and think about.

Am I the only one that doesn't really believe a word Zokot says anymore? Especially after the lied the first time I just don't see a reason. So yeah, probably time2quityet, Zokot. lol.

I raised the requirements to wield the broadsword by +5 attack and magic levels, making the requirements 80 Attack and 70 Magic. I think linkzelda30 made quite a valid point. Since it is a very powerful hybrid weapon, it would naturally be harder to master, thus allowing for reason to have a higher requirement than, say, a Godsword, which is simply just a purely powerful melee weapon.
-
I like the secondary drops, and I think the newly updated stats of the weapons are a lot better now. With halberd speed you want a weapon with decent power. I'm going say say good job on this. I'd love to see it as the level 88 Slayer Monster. :)
Why be abused because people can spell?

Unfortunetly, in today's society, children are growing up in an evironment where, with the internet chat speak and everything else, they are learning that it is acceptable to spell or speak incorrectly.
The problem with this, is really, it is not. They will grow up and be thrown into the world of business and professionalism and realize that the way they spell and speak will be extremely important to the matter of how well they perform in their careers. At the ripe, young age of 15, though, they don't know this yet. They're taught grammar, spelling and reading in school, but a lot of kids now-a-days don't take their schooling seriously anyway. They don't see the point to it.
Really, guys, it's all about electronics and television and video games. It's causing a surge of laziness and low self-standards that really, especially 50 years from now, is going to become worse and worse of an issue.
