Great article duke. Damn its painful to be reminded of the p-hat dupe though, I made ALL the wrong moves. I thought jagex would have reversed it some how so I didn't take any part in buying or selling p-hats during that time. The dupe also meant my green phat went from 6mil to like 100k. Just think how rich you could be if you could go back and make all the right moves. :(

Oh shutup, I do agree that people should use proper spelling and grammer, but what you just said is pathetic, and a lot of people say things similar to this, its really starting to get on my nerves, just because of the sheer stupidity of it, you don't HAVE to read what everyone says on RS, you are able to turn the chat off, and even if you weren't, surely (having the goal of becoming a professor and all) your capable of ignoring it. I think anyone who blames their lack of gameplay on other people is either plain stupid or seriously needs to grow up.

If you quit, trust me, do NOT start playing again in a year or so like I did, you will kick yourself every day for not stocking up on rares.

I know its hard sometimes, but you just need to ignore the children who do that. But this topic has made me think of something else, high level players who are absolute [puncture]s, like I went to chaos druid tower to fight ogres underneath (I'm level 98) and there was a level 110 down there, as soon as I got there he said "omfg noob stop killing my ogres", I said, "excuse me? 'YOUR' ogres?" and he says something along the lines of "yes noob my ogres I'm a higher level than you so go away noob", he called me a noob so many times, until I asked him how long he played, he said one year, I asked him if he was playing back in RSC, he said no. I've been playing since the September before santa hats were dropped, and this guy thinks he can go around calling everybody noobs just because he is a higher combat level. While I'm still on the subject of high level [wagon], I would like to say that "the old nite" (currently second highest overall on hiscores) is a really nice guy, back in RSC when he was the highest overall (yea he used to be ranked number 1) I seen him smithing at seers village, so I thought yea I'll take a screenshot, its not every day you see the best player in runescape, so I said to him "hey man, say cheeeeeese", and you know what, he said none other than the word "cheese", he didn't call me a noob, he didn't ignore me, he didn't act as if he were more important than me because of his high levels, I told him thanks and he said no problem and that was the end of that. So last week, I seen him in edgeville, I went up to him and said the same thing I said 2 years before, "hey man, say cheeeeeeeese", he said cheese, I said thanks, he said no problem. Ok so my point is... That after all these years the old nite has played and been up amongst the best, he must have had so many children annoying him and begging him for items and following him around, yet he still took 30 seconds of his time just so I could take another screenshot, and I have a lot of respect for him because of that. Oh heres the pics if you want to see or don't believe me. Hehe by the way, notice he is still wearing the same clothes, maybe they should introduce a hygeine skill in to the game. :lol: And would you look at that, I've gone way off topic, sorry guys. :oops:

Ok I didn't read all the posts so I may be repeating something but here it goes. Define easy, define hard, because in my eyes, herblaw certainly isn't a hard skill, it actually levels up quite fast, it just costs an arm and a leg if you want to get it up high. Farming is another skill like this (although I can't say for sure, I only started it 2 weeks ago), there is 4 tree patches and 4 fruit tree patches in which you can get 1.5k exp per tree per day even at a low farming level, so thats easily 15k exp a day (got to count the other things you grow), ok so 15k exp a day doesn't seem like much at all, it isn't... But as your level gets higher you can plant better trees, which... Theoretically, if you have the money shouldn't be all that HARD to do. Now.. With melee combat stats, you can't just buy your way into them, its ALL work, so I'd say that they are actually harder.

What annoys me the most is that some of the "internet words" that are used are actually LONGER and more diffucult to type than it would be to type it with the correct spelling, I do believe they call this "l33t speak" or something pathetic like that. I mean... Whats so elite about talking like your dyslexic, if anything it makes you look stupid and pathetic, not elite. Now.. There is one (or a few) place where I see fit (and actually do type with incorrect spelling), thats in the wilderness while PKing, because yes even that 1 second that you save typing a message can be the difference between life and death or a kill and a teleport. I see it like this, acronyms and certain abreviations are fine, but lay off that god damn l33t speak and such. However... In my time of surfing the internet I have been to many forums, and I do find that some people take the "speak English or die" thing a bit too far, some are just being uptight and trying to make people think they are smart or something. In my opinion there shouldn't be any set rules about how you can type on the internet, nor should people make a big deal out of it, I mean come on, some words really do need abreviating (especially for honest RS players such as myself who don't use auto-typers), who is going to sit there typing "press 888 to buy adamantite bars" "press 888 to buy adamantite bars" when you could type "888 to buy addy bars" 2 times for every time it takes you to use the proper spelling. So yea, theres a time and a place.. People just need to use their common sense. In fact, the whole entire world would be a better place if everyone had a bit of common sense (which isn't the case where I come from I'm afraid), but hey.. Thats a whole different discussion isn't it. ;)
