  1. Some corrections and suggestions Under Smelting & Smithing The furnace will accept up to 224 coal (enough to accompany two packloads of rune ore) from you. It will accept up to 28 (one packload) of each other type of ore (except iron; see below). Your unused coal "balance" is shown in the lower right corner of the bar dispenser menu. All deposited ores are held for you in the furnace indefinitely; they don't expire. To my knowledge the max is 250 coals. You cannot add any more coals if you already have 200?(Should be 200, did not really test it) coals already inside the furnace. Under Soloing the Furnace Pick up shovel spawn and shovel coke until furnace glows deep red (first yellow, then orange, maybe red-orange, etc.) It is not a must to make it red hot, rather between 4 to 8 shovels will suffice. 4 if you have a partner already pumping when you start shovelling, and you immediately repair the pipes after you are done. (Tested) 8 or 6 for soloing, which is what I have been doing. (8 is safer though) Suggestions Add a new method of soloing. Buying ores from the shop and smelting it. Inventory contents: Gp, nat, hammer with fire staff equiped. Eg: Buy mithril ores and coals from shop, smith and switch worlds when stock runs out. Rinse and repeat. Possible for mithril, steel and iron. Recommended minimum steel though. Advantages:Fast exp, I leveled from 63 to 71 in 1 day using this method. No need to aqquire large amounts of ores beforehand. Disadvantages: Slow to do for long term, every change of server eats 40 seconds. Shop might not have stock(Seen a few players doing this already).
  2. Ores left on the belt will not disappear, unless you log out. I tried that to my loss of 200 coals. The maximum coals the furnace can hold is not 224 but rather 254. There is a cut off point (220?) where after there is that amount of coals inside the furnace, the server will prevent you from putting any more coals on the belt. Any coals put in amounting to more then 254 will be lost. I tried putting a hundred coals on the belt when I had 200 inside. End result: 254 coals and the rest lost.
