  1. Shades' magical ranged and magic attacks are equal in frequency and damage, and are based on your magic defence. Hence it does not matter whether you pray mage or range (assuming that there are no other monsters) as either way you will block an average of 50% of the damage. Magical ranged is not based on your ranged defence but your mage defence: if you wear metal armour and pray against mage you will find that you get hit by the ranged attacks almost all the time.

  2. It is certainly quite possible that training with chaotic weapons gives xp faster than Dharoking does. I haven't had a chance to test it though as I do not have a chaotic weapon. In any case, seeing as skeletal monkeys do not drop effigies, it is probable that, discounting the need to train slayer, Dharoking is no longer the most efficient method of training melee. Dharoking still retains its enjoyability, though.

  3. As for my eventual third bind, I would opt for the blood necklace, not so much for the special effect, but for the +11 atk and str bonus. Nothing else would be worn in the necklace slot anyway.

almost all high level dungeoneers who have owned blood necklaces in the past that I know of, have all destroyed their necklaces in favor for promethium platebodies.

i've also heard it's a pain having to equip and unequip the blood necklace because it doesn't work well with the shadow hood. the damage to adjacent enemies can draw monsters when you'd otherwise want to be under concealment.

    just food for thought.

the few times ive seen necklace in action itd dmg didnt cause retaliation, specificly ive seen it used at yk'lagor, and the 40 dmg could hit a mage without letting the mage turn and attack you

ive not seen it used in a hood safe room next to a monster, but id like this confirmed first

however if you can use the necklace effect and the hood effect at the same time, this will make the combo even better! leeching free hp from humanoids without fighitng them

I did an entire floor with hood + necklace (got the necklace at the start of the dungeon) and didn't notice anything of that sort, although it is possible that I may have missed it. I didn't find the necklace particularly useful except against the skeletal army that Necrolord summoned.

  4. I have a feeling since I only got 15 points for a Lapalok task yesterday (haven't done another since) it may only apply to 10th and 50th tasks

It's also worth noting for the 75 points at lapalok tasks that means a 10th task, you cant do 5 tasks for your 75, it doesn't work that way for the diary ;)

    Thanks for that.

Kill an ice strykewyrm (you do not need to be assigned this as a Slayer target for this task)

    What.

That means, go to the cave and Kill a ice Stryke.. Not sure if you need the previous Fire cape/2k points .. hm :-k

You do. I don't; I tried but couldn't do any damage on them, despite being 94 slayer.

I could tolerate making the fire cape a prerequisite for one of the diaries. But having it for multiple diaries (Karamja & Fremennik) is pure Jagex [cabbage]hookery.

You have to have 93 slayer and the fire cape OR bought the ability with slayer points. I do think it's a bit stupid to make a mini game reward a requirement for a diary (funny how they left out void gear with Fally), I understand killing Jad is logical after needing to kill a Ket-Zek for the hard section.

You can use a cannon if you don't have a fire cape and haven't bought the ability.

  5. 1. With the scroll of life ability, is it possible to get a seed back when (1) your inventory is full and you do not have the seed in your inventory or (2) you pay the farmer to chop down your tree?

    2. Is it possible to get Sagi arrows from solo dungeons? From c1 solos?

  6. If you want to be time-efficient, train the skill that makes money at the slower rate (most likely thieving).

If you want to 'happiness-efficient', train the skill that you find more boring (most likely runecrafting).

The XP gain rate is immaterial at least insofar as efficiency is concerned.

  7. I did some tests of my own and found that yak was slightly faster, although popular opinion seems to indicate otherwise. I suspect that those who favour the titan are not particularly adept at spotting their familiars. Of course, the more people there are, the harder it is the spot your familiar, and so the smaller the advantage the yak has over the titan.

  8. i don't mind that you went off topic since there were a few helpful answers already given. i wouldn't even consider it going off topic- it was a valid point and an intriguing argument on your part. if my results were accurate though, i'm much more inclined to do snapdragons in the future.

also, here is my logic if i have 1000 seeds at 10% return:

from the first 1000 seeds, 100 back

    from those 100, 10 back

    from those 10, 1 back

    total from 1000 seeds: 111

If your implication is that each seed effectively gives on average of 5clarge5c5csum7bn3d17d5.gif of a seed back, then it is erroneous, since in planting the recovered seeds you incur the opportunity cost of selling them.

  9. Your explanations seem rather strange to me. From what I know time dilation follows directly from the principle of equivalence, and if you conduct the 'thought experiment' you should be able to derive the Lorentz transformation without much difficulty. I am not sure which textbook you use but the Feynman Lectures on Physics has a rather neat explanation of relativity.

  10. - is it worth it?

Yes. If you don't waste your time finding a world (use the cc mentioned above) and use the pool at Ooglog it will take less than 10 minutes to complete the D&D.

    - how hard is it to get the max duration of this quadruple charms thing?

It is triple not quadruple. If you use the pool it is very easy to get the max 60 shards (even if you don't it is still very possible). You don't need to bother with the familiars hunting you as you will be done very quickly.

    - does these 40mins also count when ur logged out or in the lobby?

    No.

  11. There seems to be some confusion over the two terms on tip.it, with all D&Ds being categorised as activities (http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=activities.htm). This is of course not Jagex's stance, as they dichotomise the two (http://www.runescape.com/kbase/guid/manual) with the former having time constraints. If this sweeping categorisation is not deliberate, then all the D&Ds have to be recategorised.

  12. I seem to remember them telling me that. Are you sure you followed the steps correctly?

I am quite sure I did. I have checked a few other guides and only one of them also suggests speaking to the guards, which suggests that there might be some truth in the claim. It didn't work for me though, so perhaps it only works for some guards.

In any case, it is completely unnecessary to speak to the guards (even if you can) since going straight to the launderer will work.

  13. Tai Bwo Wannai Trio

It is worth suggesting to summon a spirit Graahk for the quest to make getting around much easier.

    While Guthix Sleeps

    11. Head off to Khazard. Talk to any one of the guards and they will suggest that Movario takes his laundry just North-West of the Fight Arena. Head to the North West building in the town and find the Khazard Launderer.

I am quite skeptical of this - when I talked to the guards all they said was that I killed General Khazard and divulged nothing about Movario. In any case it is completely unnecessary to talk to them, as I went straight to the launderer and was successful.

For step 56, it would be useful to provide a list of potions and their corresponding ingredients.

I am also quite skeptical about the need to bank for the final fight. I managed to complete it without taking a single bite using just average equipment.

  14. Cabin Fever:

Go downstairs and plunder the chest, the box and the barrel until you have 10 stacks of plunder.

You can only get six from the chest, box, and barrel, and they take a while to respawn for you to plunder them again. So, it is worth suggesting to log out and then back in, as this will make them respawn instantly.

    Rocking Out:

Kill the Customs Officer (Level 35) that attacks you and pick up its uniform.

A more appropriate possessive pronoun would be 'his'.
