  1. I'd just like to thank everyone for keeping this alive, even though i haven't been around :)! I hope you all like the new idea.
  2. Hehe, i did reply the last time you posted this, and put it on the front page, must have been right before the wipe. Thats ok though, i'll post it again :) I also really like the sig, btw ;)
  3. Thanks, i didn't even notice that when i skimmed the other day, and thanks dv_trainer for the writing. @Omali- The video's were posted afew months back when i had the old format up i believe, im not sure... also, the video's arn't mine, they are copied by someone else (and no credit given to me if you didn't notice).
  4. About 500 posts i think, give or take... oh well, worse things have happened... atleast the post is still here, not sure if i still have all the pictures on my computer :(
  5. Just finished my FINAL update, mainly a layout change, but i think it looks better
  6. There is already a feature that allows you to deposit items to the bank: http://tip.it/runescape/index.php?rs2item_id=6401 and the spell you have has been suggested 100's of times, and always comes back to- it would make everything to easy.
  7. I actually quite like this idea, i have seen it before... but nowhere near as detailed as this idea. I could see it being used. Good Job =D>
  8. Im not taking credit for the idea of bank tabs... yes, that has been around since Rs2 was created, but i am taking credit for the pictures, which people have taken it upon themselves to plagorise and post on other forums and take full credit for. I think that is what you are talking about.
  9. No, locked items take up bank space... as you said, if they didn't you could have unlimited bank space... though, there could be like a limit of 10-20 locked items with a count of 0 which take up no space.. up to jagex
  10. Well... that was the origional idea, but i have decided against that... it would just make more complication imo. So, all the tabs can have any itemdragged into them.
  11. Eww, don't lick me *wipes off* and, no... i havent sent it into jagex in quite awhile, im like 100% sure they have seen it, so any more spam will prolly start to annoy them :)
  12. I still look at the forums almost daily, though, i don't play Runescape anymore.
  13. Nope, im still here, i just check the post every now and then
  14. This is the biggest i have seen, i think mine is the second biggest. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=379764
  15. I don't know much about Java programming, but I don't think the strain would be very much more at all. Think about it. Jagex has to remember what image you've chosen for each slot, which means that a variable will have to be stored. In the same sense, each text tab will have to be stored. I think giving everyone twelve text-based tabs would be VERY much like giving everyone an additional twelve friends for their friends list. Too much space on the server? I don't really think so. My main issue comes down to their functionality. Even if you set them yourself, it's tough to remember what some of those images are, and even worse, find them. My problem with the bank currently is that I can be looking right at something and not see it. If the tabs are pictures too, I worry that I will spend twice as long looking for which one I want. It seems there are people who like text, and those who want pictures. Maybe, just maybe, it's possible to do both? Think about it. If there were an option to change it back and forth, then everyone would be pleased, and less server space would be taken, if it is actually an issue. Changing the text to pictures was a very controversial change indeed. The only reason i chose the picture tabs was because i found i could put all 12 next to eachother, and have more space, instead of having a second line of tabs taking up more space, i did plan to make tabs be done in text and pictures. But mike most things, im sure if you keep to the same pictures you will get use to them. Not saying i won't change them when i get back to editing. (havent had much time lately)
  16. Thanks for your feedback, I don't know how i missed it before. #1 Not being a programmer myself, i don't know anything about how these will be coded. So i won't be able to give any accurate knowledge on memory useage etc. But, i did change from the 'name your own bank slot' idea to the icons because i knew that would reduce memore useage. (and it looks better) #2 The locking idea. Now, you ask if items locked with a '0' count would be consume bank space? Yes, they would, the idea behind the lock items is that instead of having to rearrange your bank every time you want to go out and train etc, your armour and weapons would be locked to the tab you placed them in. (If you need more explaniation, please ask, i know what im taking about, but i never know how to explain it properly) #3 I had tossed up wtih that idea, It could work, but my consern is that in order for that to work ( i would imagain) the bin icon would become a slot, so people know what will be thrown out. I guess how you explain it, that any items in the bin 'slot' would be forced out upon closing the bank page would work. #4 I think i wrote that at like 3 in the morning, so it makes no sence to me, but what you write sounds reasonable. (the insert and swap bit) #5 The knowledge base, would defently make this idea alot easier, and would eliminate the need for the 'whats this' options, And i think once people saw their new bank, they would be running to the knowledge base to find out what everything does Sorry i didn't get back to you sooner elven mist, I don't know how i missed your post actually I'm baaaaaack! :P All right, Thagern, I'm on to bouncing off your response this time; let me know what you think :D : 1) Okay, honestly, I'm no programer myself :anxious:, so I'm just basically using common sense as to what the system (JaGex servers) will have to keep track of for each player. To make life easy for JaGex and RuneScape players (and you), let's say that your whole system is standardized--which is up to your discretion--and there are up to, we'll say, twelve (12) tabs, which are set to specific skill combination icons (that still need to be worked out before a finalized version is sent to JaGex... *=P~ at the thought of helping*). The customizable portion for players could possibly be the number and arrangement of tabs used as well as the icons for said tabs. If there is any confusion as to what a tab means, hovering your mouse pointer over the tab would bring a pop-up box with the tab's name--similar to the Stat screen's exp information. ~ ~ *gives a hopeful look* Problems/issues solved? 2) With your explination, it finally clicked as to what you're talking about with the "Lock" feature; it's essentially placeholding! I didn't realize this before because :-$ I already use placeholders :), and as such, rarely deal with mixing my stuff up every single time I want to train something different. My way, with the current banking system, means having at least two of my most-used items--armor, weapons, tools, etc.--one for usage, the other as a placeholder. Your new system makes it so there is no need to spend extra time and money aquiring second (or more) sets of a given item; it makes perfect sense! ~ ~ What I would love to have a better understanding with is the "Ghost" feature. Please, help me to understand this! 3) Yes, the "Bin" function could be similar to the trash can on most email accounts (Hotmail here, so that's what I'm using as a base), but instead of it automatically emptying after a set period of time, when you go to exit your bank after moving an item to the Bin--either by clicking the window closed or trying to move your character on the map--a non-avoidable confirmation window would pop up containing all the items currently in the Bin Slot and asking you to verify before the items are dropped/given away (if linked to the proposed Charity Hall or revision talks about Party Pete's Chest). Thinking about it, though, it may be better for the Bin to act more like the Recycle Bin on Windows' desktop, and not empty until you physically tell it to empty, and it gives you a confirmation; this would probably be the better idea if there were connection issues or you had to log out quickly. ~ ~ Your feedback? And, as far as missing my post, maybe it's because you were writing and somehow missed the huge post of size 14 blue text... #-o ~~~~~ ENJOY!! : Did anyone else know that there's a 10 smiley limit to a post? I didn't before I tried posting this one the first time. LOL... #1 So, your suggesting having 12 tabs with preset icons on what can be stored in them? I didn't really want to do that as it limits players, and in a way forces them to store that type of item in that slot. I want players to be free to customise the tabs themselves, bescause there are lots of different types of players, myself, i am a skiller, so i won't need an armour slot etc. I think that is what you are saying, correct me if im wrong. #2 PLACEHOLDER that is what i needed to say all along. Yes, it is a placeholder. I do the same as you, store 2 items to hold that item in place, but some items players can sometimes only afford on of, (dragon/rare). The ghost item, some items (feathers etc) can be used in 2 slots fletching/fishing, the ghost item makes a replicar of that item, lets say you have 20,000 feathers, if you ghost the item, another 20,000 feathers appear, which can be moves between slots. Now, when lets say 1,000 feathers are removed from one stack, 1,000 will be removed from the other. Proberly not the best since feathers are the only thing i can think of that would require it : oops : . #3 After thinking of it, i guess the bin could become another 'slot' but any items in there would count to the total in the bank, then the bin could be emptied when a player wanted, i like that idea. I think we are making progress -Hehe, my backfround is blue, so it didn't stand out as much on my screen as it would yours : lol : --No, i didn't know there was a max of 10 smiles per post, i have never used that many. : P ( tried to post, i had 16... grr, this could take awhile to find 6 to delete)( tried again, still have 1 to remove) ---I am male, for future reference : D

  18. I'm kinda confused on what a few of the pics are supposed to be. FIrst of all, the second one from the left on the actual tabs, what is it? Second of all, why is there a frog mask AND a santa hat? Again, why is there goblin armor? Why are farming and seeds seperated? Most people would keep them in one category. Fletching probably shouldn't be an icon by itself. Probably with ranging and/or woodcutting. Also, members will probably tend to use the multi-icons, so maybe including something like a mining, smithing, crafting, and maging icon (I know it's hard) would help. I noticed that mining is seperate from smithing, that should probably be remedied :D Well, the second one from the left is a currency slot, it was in the previous post, it is to store coins etc in. With regards to the icons, i just did some random pictures i found here and there. I know there are ALOT more icons i could add, but with work and christmas, ive been really busy i will mix i up abit more in the new year. Frog mask = random events Santa = rare items A purple party hat?
  19. Wouldn't it be nice if every view was a reply :anxious: Holy moley, i didn't even notice how many viwes there were
  20. What shop price would be used, specialty stores or general stores? There's a pretty big difference. And using street price for things like whips (if anyone actually donated one) would keep the game out of whack. The whip would cease to be a status symbol and the price would continually fluctuate. Specialty would make the most sense I think, as people could have gotten the equivilant amount of money from high-alching. I don't really think that using the street price for items with high-street value but low shop value would really cause many problems, due to the scarcity of which they would be donated. I can't see how their position in the charity hall would affect anything else economically. What if someone decided to put a phat in? They sell for like 2gp, and alching is 1gp, so any odd noob could suddenly have a phat! Items first have to be donated to the hall, no items will be created to be deposited... and i don't know many people who would donate a party hat.
  21. I am going to put text back, don't worry, but i think 12 tabs should be more then enough, it would just get more confusing if there were to many tabs. Putting the text back in is unrealistic, in my opinion. Considering this is going to be f2p and p2p, every person in Runescape is going to have this updated bank. This new bank is going to suck up horrible amounts of memory with the pictures, but even more with the text. Think about this: How many people play Runescape? Now multiply that number by 10. And thats how many new boxes JaGex is going to have to remember. Then take into consideration the order. With the pictures, its not you that can come up with some crazy, out there name, its JaGex. They can better control the storage space they use if pictures are used. To sum it up, I perfer PICTURES over text. I think it is fine the way it is now. I plan on keeping the bank tabs pictures, i was talking about the buttons (lock etc) back to text. (unless people can submit better pictures. :P )
  22. You can still chose what images you want on the tabs, is that what you mean?
