I've posted a few videos on this site before which were enjoyed by many. (Illegal Drugs in Runescape, New Graphics Orientation, The Runescape E3 Trailer) Now, I need a few seconds of "riot" footage for a new video, so I figured we could make a fun event out it as well. Here are the details: Where:: World 75 (free world), Faldor Town Square (teleport area) When: This Saturday (Aug 2nd), 7am PDT, 10am EDT, 2am GMT, 12 midnight Eastern Austrailia/Hong Kong What to Bring: Logs, Firestarter, colored firelighters, snow globes, rubber chickens, anything else you can think to bring. What to Do: Join the clan chat "excl", and I'll try to give directions from there. When I give the "go", light the logs (preferably colored ones), and start hitting each other with rubber chickens and snowballs. If you don't have those items, just do any angry looking emote and spam the public chat with "boo" or "down with excl" or something like that. Following the huge sucess of my documentary about illegal drugs existing in Runescape ... I've made this "educational" video about the changes you can expect with the New Improved Runescape graphics! :thumbsup: JT_mfESGLXA

Wow, some of you need to lighten up. By the way, I made several suggestions to the Jagex crew, and two of them look like they'll actually be implemented (increased trades based on level, item lending). The song itself is no reflection of how I actually feel about the game. It's more a reflection of the general reaction of members in general. I personally have no problem with the updates. We wrote the song to have a little fun, which I guess is a foreign concept to some.

My friends and I came up with a parody song to reflect the mood of everyone after the announcement of the new changes. I'm still working out some of the lyrics, so if you have a better idea, or can think of an aspect of Runescape you think should be in the song let me know. (Note: This song in no way reflects my actual feeling towards the updates, just the general feeling of some people. I don't really mind the updates.) We're also hoping to get this recorded into a song, and turn this into a music video for YouTube. I wish I didn't have an evil bob random on the first try either. It was a fun event regardless. We might do this next year, and we might have a similar race a few months from now. Unfortunatly, I don't think I'll post any videos. I didn't really get that great of footage, and I should of turned off private chat as well. I also didn't have any footage from guys running in the race. Without that footage, it would be just a boring video of guys slowly trickling by one at a time. :D

Hello everyone. I first want to apologize for having to run it twice. Jagex really screwed me over with an Evil Bob random (The longest one to do), and since I was videoing 2 of the checkpoints and the finish, I didn't really have much of a choice. Send Jagex your hate mail, not me. ;) Thanks to everyone who participated the 2nd time! Seems like we lost about half our runners (again I apologize if you had to leave), but we did get 23 guys running in the official race ... and 19 of those guys finished. Everyone who finished the 2nd race, that could show me 28 rune ess's at the finish got 5000 gp for competing. Only one day to go! Anyone wishing to be an official, try to pm me a good hour or more before the event. I might have to turn off private chat if things get too crazy, so I'd like to give you your instructions before then.

Boots of lightness have no effects in F2P world. Even if they did, we'd see people wearing them in the race or at the checkpoints. Dumping your ess isn't going to work either, as I've mentioned before. First off, people IN the race will notice you and rat you out. And if you take the time to dump and then get some back before the finish, you're pretty much taking yourself out of the race anyway. I'll try to be online more today,so anyone still wishing to be an official can try and page me. And the good news ... we are now at 1.25 MILLION in confirmed prize money. And there's still the potential for even more.

Yeah, I apologize to our friends in eastern asia. I've had a few complaints from people in that area. Being an event open to everyone in the world, I can't really put it at a time which is going to be available to everyone, so somebody in the world isn't going to be happy. The event is on a Saturday though, so it will be a little easier to stay up late on a Saturday night/Sunday Morning (for those in east asia). And another note ... I was donated another 100k last night, so the pot is up to 700k guaranteed and 1.8M potential. I'm still taking donations from anyone willing to donate, up until the start of the race.

It would take way too long to check everyone's ess in the middle of the race. Besides, I'm not worried at all about this. First, everyone in the race itself is going to be looking for people cheating like this ... nobody wants to get beat by a cheater. Second, the time it would take to trade with a friend and get back into the race is going to KILL you. Rune ess doesn't weigh that much to begin with, so you really aren't going to gain a huge advantage by dumping your load and getting it back later. Try running a test race. Missing one click can set you back a good 10 paces. Taking the time to stop at a bank or trading with a friend is going to put you WAY back. And the fact that you would have to run way off the course to avoid being seen, just adds to the time you would lose. I think the other competitors would beg more people to try this. :mrgreen:

Yeah, I thought this was a great skill ... up until about level 45 when I realized ... holy poop, this is taking all my money! I bit the bullet and spend a few million getting up to lvl 60. Very useful feature in your house once you get to the higher levels. Power leveling on Oaks is no more boring than any other skill ... like fishing or mining. In fact, I thought it went a lot quicker than most skills. It's only when my financial advisor kept informing me that I was getting a lot of red ink, that I stopped doing it. If they were to incorporate plank making into the fletching or woodcutting skills, so you could make your own planks, I'd likely jump right back into construction.
