  1. Scarring is a painful, unnessesary and a violation of the body in my opinion.

Your ability to withstand your body being mutilated has absolutely NOTHING to do with becoming a man, not to mention the hindrance you'll have from scar tissue, the brutal look of a maimed body, and the healing issues (infection etc).

Also, if you like the ritual and what it represents, there is no point in doing it on "a small portion". You either do the ritual, or you don't. It would seem that you are only part of a man if you'd do it on a small piece of your body.

  2.

Also... if I ever have kids, it will be accidental.

That's not a good thing. Luckily, that attitude will probably change once you get married.

I find that offensive. And what has marriage to do with it? Our child came "ahead of scedule", we got married when she was 1,5 years old. Best thing that ever happended to me.

From 2 years of experience, these are the guidelines I have:

Set the example as a parent.

    Be consistent.

Set rules and abide to them.

The parents set the rules, not the children.

Stimulate your child in its intrests, but also introduce them to other possibilities. Example: if they want to do sports, let them choose which one. If they are reluctant to engage in sports, introduce them to them, tell them to try it. Same goes for music and other hobbies.

Stimulate education, but let them make their own choices. A college degree is not a guarantee for happiness. Money does not mean the world.

In general, let them make their own decisions (within set rules/boundaries) and learn them that decisions and actions have consequences, and teach them that they are to live up to them.

I intent to give her a good financial upbringing. I was raised with the beliefs that debt is a bad thing. That one should not spend money one does not have (yet). I think this is a new concenpt for (mainly USA :-) ) people nowadays, who buy far too much based on credit (cards).

As for religion, our child was baptised and she'll receive a liberal (Catholic) upbringing. She'll be introduced to church. Our attending frequency is low to begin with, (5-6 times a year) but it's the values religion represents that count. If, on a later age, she decides to never go there again, or convert to whatever religion, that's up to her. I'd like to note that I do NOT live up to the bible literally, I do it the "Captain Sparrow way": It's not rules, actually, it's more like.... guidelines. I'm a scientist, after all.

As for physical punishment, I find it an expression of frustration. I do not intend to ever use it, but I can imagine being frutrated and give a slap on the wrist or so. To parent a child through violence, a reign based on oppression/fear/abuse is never good in my opinion.

  3. You don't need to do smoking kills in order to start the slayer skill.

However, you should do it whenever you can, as it introduces slayer points, which can be used to cancel/block tasks (the ones you don't like/slow tasks etc.) and buy/unlock equipment and abilities.

As your combat is still fairly low, you can train combat with slayer, and level up to the required levels for "Smoking kills".

What do you mean by "skipping the first guy"? You start the skill by accepting a task in Burthorpe. After you complete it, you caqn go to any slayer master that is suitable for your level. Generally, the higher the slayer master lavel, the better.

There are some quests that unlock teleports (e.g."Watchtower") or items that you can teleport with (e.g. "ghost Ahoy"). They are very convenient for getting around in the BIG world of P2P.

  4. I only have 1 99, which is farming. I enjoyed every xp I got from the sill, and I still farm.

Getting 99 is an achievement for YOU, and nothing else matters. For me, getting 99 ifiremaking is respectable, as I find the skill VERY boring. Others will argue that it is relatively fast and cheap.

TL:DR (lol) Do whatever you want!

  5. Bork everyday is a pretty decent way to get charms

    10 crimsons + 5 blues.

This goes up if you finish the varrock achievement task

Also kill the Ork Legions Bork summons, they die very fast and they have a 100% charm rate.

You mostly get gold charms from the minis.... consider wether it is worth it to you.

Also, when killing Bork, wear a ring of wealth as it activates 100% of the kills for better loot.

  6. High-level skilling does not make money comparable to the combat methods described earlier.

Skills that do make (decent-good) money are farming (high level herbs), hunter (implings, grenwalls, jadinkos) and herlore (making unf potions with scroll, gives no xp).

Other skilling either costs money (i.e. smithing), makes no money (i.e. Ivy) or makes little money compared to combat (i.e. runcrafting, fishing) when done for at least decent - fast xp.

  7. ^

i cant corp, i dont do gwd, dks, or anything really that would entail the possibility of a friend or teammate dying.

You can always go and DO it....

As another "thing to do", next to Chompies, is to get White knight master rank.

I just got it yesterday, because I felt like it. I can now buy ALL WHITE armour MYSELF *evil laugh*.

  8. 80-82 Crafting I think and 80-85 Firemaking. Was more happy that I did Firemaking, as 85 has been a level I've wanted for a long time; but too lazy to get it. So I can burn elder roots. >:) Those were my first levels in 5 months. :shades:

I got to 92 firemaking so I can get an Adze...when I find myself able to kick my butt doing it. I think I never touch the skill again, maybe for strange rocks when I'm bored (I completed the statue already).

Got a few herblore, crafting and firemaking levels, nothing really big. Might get to lvl95 herblore as I can greenman to 96 for overloads without those awful stews...

Back to business (smithing, farming herbs for next BXPW)

  9. Alright, so it seems to quest and get your attack/str/def up and buy new armor. Then as you go level your money making skills.

But what if I leveled smiting as I leveled mining?

You'll level mining faster than smithing if you "do it yourself", as in not buying ores/bars for smithing. Also, as stated, geetin 13-odd million experience DIY smithing takes a LONG time if you want to make your own rune armour. Better to sell the ores, buy the armour and kill monsters (or PvP) for more money at a faster pace.

I think the task system is nice for newcomers, as the reward is usefull as well. As a previous poster stated, I like questing as well, and training the levels required to be able to do them.

I recommend doing the F2P quests (all) and train your combat skills (melee especially) to approximately 50+ before joining members.

  10. Get a kid.

Makes you wake up like a clockwork.

I go to bed at 11.30-0.30, wake up at 07.00, as does my 2-year old.

Granted, it's not ideal, sleeping in with a young kid is...well...nonexistent, but meh.

still getting like7 hours of sleep which is good enough. By the way, almost everbody dreams, but not everyone remembers all of their dreams. Especially after waking up, recollection of dreams start fading rapidly.

  11. Is it possible to get rich off of farming and HOW? I only ever did trees for quest requirements so I have 63. I don't feel like RCing because when I came back i saw natures were like 130 each...bleh.

Farm herbs. Check seed and actual heb prices to see which ones are most profitable. Generally, the good ones are the higher levelled ones: ranarr, snapdragon, toadflax kwuarm in no particular order.

edit: for double xp weekend should I plant all my trees the day before and then itll just give me 2.7x exp when I go check them?

If you are in no hurry, I'd plant them well ahead (2days or so) not checking health before BXPW. Sometimes, a tree takes a lot longer than the usual time to grow. To be on the sure side, plant well ahead, pay farmers if you want to.

  12. I have never ever seen any tatoo that I like.

No offence, but for me, tattoos and piercings bring up strong association with "white trailer park trash". I fail to see the beauty of mutilating the skin and various "cartilage rich" areas of the body. Some of my friend have tattoos (and they are not trailer park trash, for the record) but I don't see the beauty of it. A female friend of mine has a tattoo all over her back, some parts are done with the ashed of het late mother... Though I see her point, it is just not for me.

On the other side, respect to all of you sitting in a chair "under the needle" for 16 hours of pain. You MUST be dedicated to have that tattoo, else you wouldn't find the courage/guts to get it in the first place.

Tattoos on women are an even more turn-off for me, especially sleeves, "arse antlers" (lower back tribal) or any other form of "tramp stamp".

No offense or anything, but it really sounds as though you've only seen a bunch of drunken tattoos made in someone's kitchen, and not many actual good tattoos from people like Jeff Gogue, Thomas Hooper, Vincent Hocquet, Grime, etc. etc. Essentially tattooists who's studied the craft for decades, has a love for the work they do and actually Know What They're Doing. Good tattoos are art. But instead of hanging it on your wall you carve it onto your body where it'll stay for as long as you live. I think that's pretty beautiful.

That might've come off more pretentious than intended, but understand that there's more to tattoos than wonky tribals and butterflies.

Though I have to admit that they'd count as art, that doesn't mean I like them. Plus, when I become bored of my "wall art" I can replace it. "Replacing" a tattoo is a completely different story. Though not impossible, it's hard/painfull/expensive.

As stated in many posts regarding taste: to each his own.

  13. Don't waste your time on herbs. If you have the Ardougne cloack (2+) you can add the monastery bush (poison ivy) as it taks 5 extra seconds, but overall just do trees (normal and fruit) and caquat.

    edit: w000000t 1800 posts!!!

  15. This is especially true at higher levels I suppose.

For lower levels (<floor30) xp/h is very low to begin with. I can understand the OP's tendancy to get more xp per dungeon, as rushing low level dungeoneering xp is abysmal. I'm uneasy rushing and seeing lowly 100xp/dungeon amounts, but it has been shown that it is the quickest way to level. Suck it up, and se it as an investment for later levels.
