Well my stance on the argument is that Jagex is in the wrong. I feel Jagex is in the wrong for the following reasons I have outlined below, reasons that have been touched on in the tip.it times and which I am sure most of you have contemplated further:: 1. Jagex has no right to ask websites not endorsed by them to refrain from posting anything, including quest guides. Sure, if the fansite was an official fansite, it would be a little more reasonable, but this is not the case. 2. The quest in question is for members, ie. People who have paid Jagex in return for their services. Jagex have the right to seek compensation for their services (membership fees), but they do not have the right to tell customers how to use that service. For example, if you have a meal at a restaurant, the restaurant has the right to charge you for the meal, but not the right to tell you how to eat it. Likewise, Jagex have charged members for the availability and use of members quests, but they should not be able to tell members how to complete them. If somebody wants to use a guide to complete a quest, the only parties that can prevent them from or charge them for doing so are the authors of the guides and/or the sites that host them. There is simply no reasonable way that Jagex can make using guides against the terms and conditions of memberships, because they will have a heck of a time getting sites not to post them, and subsequently members to stop reading them. With that might I offer my comendations on a great article this week, I'm sure we'll see more posts here than usual this time...
