Weekly Poll: Which Tip.It website feature do you use...
I wish there was a choice called all. Because I use all of the features on a fairly regular basis. The various skill/general guides to help level or work on a quest. The quest guide to make sure I have the right levels/items needed. Maps to figure out where the in the world I need to go. Items/besteriay for the drops/items I want.

Tip.It Times Presents: The One Rare Almost Everybody Wants
I personally have a lot of bank space but that is because I don't play constantly so I don't build up a lot of stuff. (Oh the curse of having to work!) Though I do agree that even some simple tabs would be great (one for runes one for armor one for potions one for current quest and one for food see below for details). Or have some dedicated spots that can't be altered (like money is always the top left or all runes are always together) in the bank. But as for having like a costume room or what not I don't have the gp so I can't comment on that. Food: only cooked Armour: only the best you have in the bank Runes: all runes go here but not the rune ess or the tallies/tirias Potions: all potions in the various dosages here but not the item/ingredents for them All of this is automatic of course Current quest (couldn't think of what else to call it.): items needed for ongoing quests (like the a rope, ess, posion ivy, and a trowel or whatever is apporaite to the quest)

Tip.It Times Presents: So Who Needs Fansites Anyway?
That is very true but that does NOT say that they can't take the idea (like the idea of a more organized bank system) and modify it and change it to the point where if can't be considered an infraction of the copyright laws. For instance they could take the idea of the catagories and instead of making them nameable by player they could just pre make them. If they do that they won't need to implement the locking part of the idea but then they could further change it by automatically sorting the stuff out just by having you depsosit stuff in the bank. And probably other things that I can't think of (hey I have been up for almost 48 hours here my brain is not working that good at the moment.) If using someone else's idea as a starting point to come up with your own idea is infringing on the copyrights then I should have failed my english courses from all of my schooling.

Tip.It Times Presents: RS2.1
This is a tip from someone who has to deal with very very very complicated log in procedures. You are supposed to use a different password for every repeat every site that requires a password. But I find that very difficult to remember them all without writing it down somewhere (the log in procedures I was talking about? Well depending on exactly what I am doing it requires over 15 different passwords. Minum number is 5 and goes up from there. Not mention that there are time limits on some of them {like having only 20 sec. to type in the alphanumeric password cause it changes every 23 secs.}) So I have a mental list of only about half a dozen passwords that I use depending on what the parameters are for the password. (like RS not having spaces in the password). So to make it a tough as possible make it long. I have one that is over 25 characters long. Make it something that is easy for you to remember but is very very difficult for even your family to guess. Use all four types of characters when possible. They are the CATIPOL LETTERS, lower case letters, numbers, and special charracters ( like the space or $<&!,)#+:|{% get the idea?)

Tip.It Times Presents: English: Its Proper Form
I understand the point of the article. And I agree with the message it convies (sp?). In defense for the argument of English is my second/third/fourth/whatever langue (sp again?) English is a tough one to learn. I have made a study, completely informally, and I have found overall that English is one of the most complex ones to learn. Most other langueges (sp?) have up to 30 or so rules on how to spell or construct sentences and of course there are the few exceptions that prove the rule. English is more of the rule proving the exception. I have had several friends with IQs in the upper ranges (120+) and most of them have been forgein (sp?) exchange in my college classes. I served as "translator" for them. They knew the rules but the context eluded them on a regular basis. Many of them also missed so much of the slang (heck even I miss a lot of it!) and the background culture (like why Memorial Day is so important in the USA). But enough ranting on that subject. I didn't have time to read all of the post but I find that in certain situations that shorthand is very apporiate. My parents work in a lab (one chemistry and the other medical) and I have learned part of the shorthand that goes along with it. For instance: stat. That means I wanted that 15 minutes ago. Or something like "It is a 0 1 1 nothing." That refers to a diamond that lists in groups the properties of chemicals for safety reasons. Or in emergency situtations shorthand is valuble. A few years ago an F4 tornadoe went through a town just 10 miles to the north. There was NO, repeat, NO indactions what so ever that it was coming. For the next 96+ hours Amauter Radio Operators (Hams) were the only communication link the town and the various emergency workers had. We followed key people so they were in contact with each other and we also went to various nursing homes, shelters, and hospitals where there were patients from the local hospital (which was hit) so they staff there had access through us to the patients records. Enough ranting. I thought that was a very well thought out article.
